ActionScript 2.0 :: Rollover Not Working When Mouse Is Down?

i have project in which there is a number of button that work onRollOver by is the mouse is down it doesnt work.
i setup the AS in a very stupid way putting each script on a separate button rather then in the timeline so im looking for a easy fix here, really dont want to change over 300 buttons manually :S
AS in each button just different instance name for each:
on (rollOver) {

I have the buttons inside a movieclip and the code on each movie clip is
on (rollOver) {

This works together nicely until I roll my mouse over one of the buttons, and pretty much whatever the last button was that I rolled over that's what image stays up. The side buttons still keep rotating at the correct interval, but the images are not the correct ones

I'm trying to create a rollover for a movie clip. On rollover, a line underlines the text,and when it rolls out, the underline reverses. This works fine the first time. The next time you rollover, the animation doesn't work. Then when you move the mouse off the button, a line appears under the text and doesn't go away. Here's my code on the invisible button.

I recently made a graphic that includes an ActionScript 2 hovermap. This is the code I use to make the hover map populate:

However, the client noticed that when you're on California, the caption box disappears off the edge a little as you can see here:

aking the graphic wider is not an option -- I've stretched it as far as it'll let me. How can I restrict it to within the parameters of the graphic?

I imported a fla video and I am trying to make it so that the video is stopped in the beginning and if someone moves their mouse over it, it plays. I can get it to work if I use Click (they click on the movie and it plays) but the rollver and mouseover don't do anything. I replace CLICK with ROLL_OVER or MOUSE_OVER and nothing. I have been trying to do something in Flash that I thought would be easy. I have created a movie clip with several frames and have tried to add a MouseOver MouseOut rollover to change from frame 1 to frame 2 whenever you roll over the movie clip. It doesn't work. It doesn't even seem to recognise any actionscript whatsoever within the flash file.If I change the movieclip to a button then suddenly everything does work as I want it to.

I'm creating an interactive map and I want it to have a rollover effect of say 0.5 alpha for the different counties and when a user clicks on a particular county for it to stay highlighted. So I'd like the county that a user clicks on to be highlighted/set to alpha 0.5 but the rest of the rollovers to still work for the rest of the counties.
I'd like to do this in the most efficient way possible as there are loads of counties! I've cobbled together some code from different sources, although the code here just adds the rollover:

I have a simple invisible button over to animations, based on thisThe button is telling onRollover to play frame name, thus playing the animation. and on onRollout it plays another thread.However, once all that is finished it doesn't work properly. Its like the first time you use it, as you roll over works fine and as you roll out fine. However, when you roll over again nothing happens until you come out and it gets all muddled.

I have a flash movie with a hidden menu. The hidden menu will appear whenever theres a rollover at the portion that says 'quick menu' . This portion of the quick menu btn is visible to users.
Now here's the problem: After writing the OnRollOver tween for ._y , the individual btns on the menu stop working, the trace dun even work !!!!

I like the mouse cursor to change to another object (like zoom lens) when rollover a certain area.but only for this area, when rollout of this area the cursor should be as per normal.[code]...
but that means the cursor have to change to a new object throughout the flash.
what i want is for the cursor to change just only on one area and the rest remain as usual.

I'm tring to create a menu system for the cue points of an flv video chapters, the idea is it will appear over an flvplayback component when a menu button is pressed. The menu button itself appears when a trigger movieclip is rolled over. Now I have all the basics working, but my trouble is that the trigger movieclip is blocking the mouse events of the carousel. If I change the order of the movieclips so that the carousel is on top I get the carousel mouse events but only get mouse events of some of the area of the trigger movieclip.[code]...

I am a Trainee Web Designer. I have done a few major projects for websites and stuff using alot of Adobe Programs but i have this job where i need to make a map of a school with rollover mouse effects. So when the mouse rolls over the Admin Building on the map, a large picture of the Admin Building comes up. Then when the mouse is moved away the images closes. I need to do that with about 8 images. I have one main image which is an arial of the school, then there is different sections that i need to make 'active'
How can i go about doing this? i have looked for tutorials for ages now but they are either outdated or too advanced for me, i just need a tutorial that can show me how to achieve my goal. i cotton onto things very quickly so i dont get lost unless things get too advanced or there is a lack of explanation.

I'm having a weird thing happen. I'm using the Tween class to move a child mc (slide_mc )of the button called jump_btn. slide_mc is supposed to move from left to right on rollover, then right to left upon rollout. They seem to work pretty good. The issue I'm getting is when the user is NOT over the button; you'll see the rollover tween (_jump1_twn) get triggered. Again, the mouse is not over the button and is still. How can I get this to stop happening? slide_mc then gets locked to the right until the user rolls over the button. Am I having this problem because Im using the Tween class to move objects I constucted manually?

the stage I have created a button, and inside that button I have created a movie clip with 15 still frames of an animation I want played when mouse rolls over the button. As you'd expect it plays fine when the mouse does roll over and it stops on the last frame as I have typed the stop(); command.How do I get that same animation to reverse, and play backward when I roll out?

I've got "thumbnails bar" (created with a mask level) into the bottom of my library and above, my image holder where i can see images in their real size. I want to realize a rollover function on my "thumbnails bar" ,that let me scroll all my thumbnails to the next one (or previous one)depending if I'm on the right (or on the left) of my thumbnails bar.I saw that effect on internet but I can find the right code.

my interface consists of two graphical moviclips: A and B (B is a palette that contains several movieclips). it should work like this:
- click mc A to show mc B (initially hidden).
- while the mouse is still pressed, hover over the various mc:s of mc B. keep track of the mc:s i have hovered over in an array.
- when the mouse button is released, hide mc B.
so... i need to generate somekind of event (like onRollOver) while my mousebutton is pressed. however onRollOver is not fired when the mousebutton is pressed.

I want to rollover an object to enable an object tween and it works great except that the mouse changes to a pointer-hand and that might throw people off thinking that they could click the object...Is there any way to keep the pointer an arrow for just this one clip on rollover?

I have a flash document with only 1 scene, but several frames. On the first frame i have several buttons, their behavior is "button". I wrote a simple onRollover command on each one. Like this

It works fine when I test the movie, however, when I publish it, nothing happens when I rollover the button. I suppose there is a simple answer to this, but i just can't find it

I'm interested in learning how to create a "3d" object that a user can interact with using their mouse. I've taken 60+ pictures of a camera rotating by 5 degree increments and I'm trying to put together something similar to what Verizon has on their website for phones - Where your mouse rolls over an object and rotates it.
I've seen this done with Java as well, but I'm interested in how flash does it.
