Do you ever have a question that has been asked all over the Internet...with nothing but shitty answers? This seems to be one of those questions: What's the best way to continuously scroll text while a user holds the mouse button down? (By the way, I'm not using the timeline, so don't waste your time telling me to use EVENT.ENTER_FRAME.)

I wrote a short AS program to create a tileList and it functions fine, but I need to be able to scroll the list of pics according to the position of the mouse with out actually moving the scroll bar.... example of what I mean: the farther to the right mouseX is on stage, the faster my tileList scrolls to the right, if mouseX moves to the left of the stage, so does the scroll bar...Here`s my code so far:
import flash.display.Sprite;import fl.controls.TileList;import fl.controls.ScrollBarDirection;import flash.text.TextFormat;
var tlc:TileList;[code]........

I am having endless trouble trying to get flash to scroll with a mouse scroll wheel on both PC and Mac. Pixel Breakers code "swfmacmousewheel" seems to be the way to go but despite everyone raving about how amazing it is and showing many version of it working very nicely, I cant get it to work. I've followed all the instructions I can find as carefully as possible but I get nothing. I just want something similar to this > [URL]

When I create a TLF text area that is editable at runtime (which means that it can get a user input at runtime) I set the text direction to the 'right-to-left' definition in both the 'container and flow' and the 'paragraph' sections and set the language for Arabic or Hebrew at the 'locale' setting. I also set the text alignment to the 'align to start' mode. Now at runtime there's a stange thing. When I try to click with the mouse cursor on the editable TLF text-box, it's not displaying the text icon cursor and don't allow me to insert text inside.
But when I move my mouse cursor over the right side of the editable TLF text box, it change his appearance to the familiar text cursor which indicate that if you click here you will be able to insert text input inside. So my problem is how can I make it that only when I will hover over the TLF text box itself, the mouse cursor will be changed to text cursor icon and when I will hover beside its right side, it will remain at the normal cursor mode.

I wanna detect the direction of mouse movement. If the mouse moves tpwards the left or right of its currrent position, i want to detect it. Is there anyway to identify such movement. Actually i am implementing a 360 degree rotation of image. That means , if the mouse moves along the left side of its current position, then the image should move along its left side, otherwise it should move along the right side. For example, view this site:

so basically I have a circle which I got to spin around and stop when the mouse is over it. However I now need it to also spin Anti-Clockwise if the mouse is near the top of the page and clockwise if the mouse is at the bottom of the page.
Can anyone help? I did the animation through tweening in flash so my code is tiny, but here's what it is. I'm new to flash so forgive me if I don't know what I'm doing.

Is there a way to determine the direction in which the mouse-cursor is moving (up/down)?
Kinda like a constant listener, or something.
I only know about the onMouseMove-function, but it doesnt seem to come with parameters for direction.
Maby there is something that can be done with the:
_ymouse
..parameter. Something similar to:
_ymouse ++;
..to indicate the mouse-cursor is moving downwards.
