I have created a form in Flash MX using components shown in the example provided by Kirupa. It does not however tell me how to take the compiled information I imputed, send it to an asp scripting page which sends that information to a database and at the same time send the seller of the product an email stating that someone has registered for their product.
Can I do all this with a simple submit button?

View 7 RepliesI have looked all over the Internet for help with this.I have tried numerous video tutorials and for some reason I can't get it to work. I have created a form in flash cs4 AS2. It is a contact information form where the user fills out their information and sends it.I have created a the form in a movie clip (I have also tried it not in a movie clip) with the form components inside that movie clip.I have given each component on the form an instance name.The form has:
Full name (with instance name=name)
Company (with IN =company)

We have an interactive with about 30 buttons. The reader is asked to choose among the buttons, each of which change a chart that shows the California Budget Deficit. In other words the reader is reducing the said deficit by clicking a button which then "defunds a program" and changes the main chart. When the reader clicks a button we have a dynamic text field (for each button) that registers that that button has been clicked. At the end the reader is invited to submit his choices, that is, which buttons have been clicked.What we would like to do is have each submission emailed to us so we could do a breakdown of how the readers chose to reduce the budget.Is there ANY WAY to take the contents of a series of dynamic text fields and have them automatically appear in an email that the reader could send to us? Or are we doomed to construct a database?

My rtmp client connects to the server ok and rtmp data flowing ok for about 4hours, in the wireshark trace I can see that the server just stops sending data roughly after 4hours. The server version is 3.5.1, and I also try it on a 4.0 server the data stops coming from the server as well after 5+hours. There are no errors or any indication of session disconneciton in the diagnostic logs. I have also looked thru the settings in applicaiton.xml and server.xml I just don't see any obviious reason for the issue. I do send rtmp Acknowledgement to server after the client receives "window size" bytes, and the client sends ping response to server.

The problem is - $GLOBALS["HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA"] is not set. I'm just not receiving any jpg data. But $_POST has 200 indexes. I know that it sends correct bitmapData, because I tried adding it to stage and it worked. And I know, that the request is reaching the server, because I get the right response. But I don't know, what the problem is. Maybe there is any other approach at the php side?
this is the first time i've used flash to send data to a server. what i'm doing is sending input form data to a coldfusion mail page. check out the syntax that is causing the problem.

I am in the process of creating a flash site for friend of mine. He wants to be able to have a guest list for his events in DC. I have created form boxes and have given them all "instance names". But I have absoultely NO clue how to have the text entered by people trying to get on the guest list sent to my server so we can all read it.
I have a book on Flash but it really doest explain how to do it at all. I'm guessing I need to do some actionscript?

I am attempting to send XML data to a PHP script from my server-side app using the following code:

I am logging anything that the outside server receives at $_REQUEST, $_POST, $_GET. I can see that my server-side app is reaching out to the external server, but the data is always blank.
Im need to send some data between 2 Flash clients. I have an issue whereby there is a probability that there could be firewall issues with communicating over port 1935 or 443 know you can use RTMPT to tunnel video over port 80 but im not sure about sending data objects.

View 2 RepliesI am writing a simple Tcp server in Unity and have my Flash application connects to it.I found a great tutorial on threaded Tcp server online, and my flash app connects to it nicely. However, I am not able to send data outside of the listening thread to the connected client. I tried to create a global reference of the Tcpclient obtained inside of the thread. However, that reference (sclient) only works inside of the listening thread, printed Null to console outside of the thread. There must be something I can do to retain the TCP client reference for later use or access it from outside of block thread.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a button that when clicked on opens an email client with an empty address field but a filled subject and body, but have no idea where to begin.The idea is that I have a "Refer me to your friends!" button, so when the user clicks it, it opens an email with the subject "Sairus is awesome" and a body filled with propaganda. The address field must remain blank so they can add in the friend's address they wish to send.For the moment I'm working with the below, however obviously enough the address is being filled in. So far I have the form checking that NewEmail contains characters, an "@" symbol and a "." symbol. However is there code that can check that the layout of the email is correct before submitting i.e. <"sometext"@"sometext"."sometext">

View 9 RepliesI am having trouble creating an email form in Flash. The PHP is working fine and the email sends if I query the php in a browser but when I pass the variables from Flash the email address that is passed gets ****ed up.
For example: the text I enter in the text field: bobloblaw@football.com what is sent to php: bobloblaw%40football%2Ecom
I realise this is probably to do with urlencoding and I have tried escape() on the strings
