ActionScript 2.0 :: Sliding Background On Button Click?

I am trying to make my websites backgrounds do this [URL] ignore the pop up that comes up.. I want the background to scroll whenever I click on a button and i have it all set up and it is still confusing cause i cant get it to work [URL]. How to get these buttons working right.
Everybody has seen the braingiants website (url..). And all the bouncing box efx.But, does anybody know how to change tha all background color when u click a button...? like the ones in braingiants. standing in the html
With the aid of Dreamweaver CS4 I've manged to create a temp 'under construction website'. This website has a fullscreen .swf looping in the background.
I have made 4 of these very short looping .swf files.Is it possible, by adding one simple button on the screen, for the user click and the next .swf background starts playing? So basically this button acts a 'next' button, and each times it's clicked the next .swf starts to play.

This is my first time using Flash to create a website. I am not familiar with Action Script, its functions classes etc., however I am familiar in programming in JAVA. I will be using ActionScript 3 and Flash CS5. (I have Flash CS4 also if needed). I am trying to create a website with a scrolling background that has 4 different scenes. I have attached an image to illustrate my idea. There will be a user interface, consisting of 4 buttons, which will be on stage at all times. Each of the button will correspond to a different scene of the background. So if the user clicks on the third button, the background will slide itself until the third scene appears on the stage.
Questions in mind: How would the coding be like? I am planning to apply it to the button. So the background should shift ___ amount of pixels to the left or right depending on which scene the user is currently in. So if background is currently at position 800,0 (so the user is currently in scene 2) and the user clicks on 4th button. The background should move -1600 so the 4th scene will appear on stage. I am guessing there is 16 different cases I have to address. Assuming if that works, how would I also move the other objects on the scenes of background? Such as links to email address or my portfolio.
I'm trying to create a simple 2D sliding puzzle in AS 3.0, but I haven't gotten further than splitting up the image and placing it into a grid. My main issue is to figure out how each panel will detect if there's a free space near it when you click them.
Lets say i have a button on frame 1. And if you press it normal, you ll get to frame 2. But then if you click it on another way, you ll get to frame 3. How do i do that easy?! With another way i mean like shift click or ctrl click or is it an easier way?
I'm trying to make a site with a photogallery that has sliding thumbs in the bottom corner ("slidingOut_mc"). I've got them sliding from right to left with a simple tween that is infinite. The problem is that I have a left arrow and right arrow that I want to slide the thumbs in reverse (left arrow i.e. "back_btn") or at double speed (right arrow i.e. "forward_btn") on a roll over of the button.I used the ENTER_FRAME thing to get the mc to reverse with prevFrame when rolling over the "back_btn" but I can't get it to stop when I roll out.

That's the part that seems to work. I've tried to make a roll_out function in a few way but none work. I feel like I must need a removeEventListener event but I figure out the code with out being an error. Here was my best attempt at the roll out button.

how to make a sliding content with a next and previous button in AS3? I know how to do it in AS1 but in this particular project I made use of Tweenlite, which requires AS3. Basically, I have a vertical movieclip navigation that toggles back and forth, and in each movieclip i want to insert a sliding image gallery with the next and previous button.It's similar to this onebut instead of having individual links, i just want to have a NEXT and PREVIOUS buttonIs it also possible to have links in each image? I'm trying to develop a menu with slider, similar to the one on the kirupa tutorial section except I have set the slider bar to start off the page so you don't actually see it until you roll over the buttons, then it slides into place.. works perfectly. My question is: how do I make the sliding bar disappear after you roll off the button? Am I permitted to post the flash swf file for you to see what I am doing?
I have 6 buttons, and a thin bar.. I am doing an effect whereby when I click on the 6th button the bar will move and stop at the 6 button, and when I click on the 2nd button it will move and stop at the 2nd button.. but I cant stop the bar..

I am working with a downloaded component that moves separate panels horizontally with an ease. there are 4 panels and they are controlled by 4 buttons to make them move.The code for the panels is:

The value changes with each button to move the panels.My question is the buttons are actually buttons and I want to make them into movie clips but when I do that and apply the same code it does not work. Can this only be done with "buttons"? I am trying to create a portfolio section that slides from panel to panel by thumbnails and left and right arrows.
I have a sliding photo galley with a previous and next button. I have added action script to tell the linked pictures to slide along and for the next button its fine (I took the script from a forum...as you do). I put stop commands on the key frames over the next picture, Now if I am on the 4th image and click previous, its goes all the way back to the start!

It tells me the "everyFrame" is an undefined property. I think and hope the problem should be obvious to those who know more than me. Do I need some sort of import at the very start of it all?
I have created a sliding rollover panel so that a user can hover over an invisible button to reveal the panel itself. The panel itself is under a movie clip which basically motion tweens the panel to slide in and out effectively. Then there is the panel_mc inside the movie clip which contains an img. The one panel can slide out but for some reason cannot slide back, even when you rollover the button(popUp_btn)!!!! The compiler errors does not even display this error!!!

I have read all threads and can not find a solution but i am not somebody with a lots of knowledge about actionscript so here is my problem i am using this script .

the problem is that when i click on the first button loads ok but when click on second still showing the first movie clip in the back ,,,,, i have try everything without luck ,,,, i guess i need to keep reading but will like to find an answer to this situation ,
I created a movieclip animation that only activates when i rollover the movieclip button. I further extended the frames and created another frame animation that i active only when user clicks the button. So i have a roll over/out animation and click animation in the same movieclip in the same layer. Now the problem is that when i click on the button, its supposed to take me to another page, and it does, unfortunately without the click animation. That means after i click on the button its supposed to first finish the click animation and then go to another page. But when i click, it takes me to another page without showing the click animation
SO I tried the If function, but i seem to make a mistake somewhere and i dont know what to do. Now there is no error in script, but onw there is a problem in link, the button finishes the click animation but it does not go to the tarrgeted"about" frame. here's the code
Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

I am building a flash interface and I would like a menu where it is hidden to begin with (just a tab). You click the tab to expand it, and click again to collapse it. I've made a movieclip with animation of the menu opening up and closing, but I can't seem to work out how I'd go about making the movieclip open and close properly.
I have a test button i would like to have play a movie where a graphic expands. Once stopped, I would like to be able to click that same button and have the graphic go backwards. I would prefer to have timeline reverse, rather than lengthen the timeline of the mc because then i have to line up the start and end, and if one changes, i have to remember to change the other.
I am trying to work out this issue in as3 and I'm sure its simple but can't seem to get my head around it. If anyone can see a sollution I would be very happy to hear from you. [URL]..If you click on the red button and click back and previous you will notice that the speed it goes back when you click previous is much slower the further through the slides you go?

I'm back to try and come to grips with AS3. I have been forced to focus on CSS and jquery. I am trying to make the background blur when you click on a link to play video or another movieclip.
I have set up ma flash project to have various scenes. One of these scenes is a page whereby when a user clicks on a button he/she can change the background image on every scene in my project.On each scene i have made a layer called 'background' and drawn a black rectangle which is the default background. This has been converted to a graphic using F8.What i'd like to be able to do is when the user clicks on the button he/she can change this default background to 1 of 4 photo's i have in my library.i have tried the code:

look at my attachment and you will see that it creates 10 little pieces of ammo. When u click on the background it should delete one of those movie clips. But it deletes 2 of them. the code for creating is on the first layer and the deleting is on the background button symbol(click on the background to find it if you don't know what im talking about). create code
So I had an interesting request from a client the other day. Basically, he wanted the button (which looks like a sticker) to peel off as the mouse approaches the button. So from the outside of the hover point, it would peel a little. As the mouse gets closer, the peel animation would peel more (or less, depending on the mouse position) until it is 'peeld' off the page and sort of hovering above the background when the mouse is finally over the button.
Does anyone know of some custom classes that might achieve this? It seems like it would be making use of the new 3D in flash10, but I haven't had much time to experiment with 3D in flash.
I'm fairly new to Flex. I want to make a button (icon) on the far right in the middle of the page that display a sliding side bar with multiple buttons in it when you hover over it. I want when the user hover out of the button bar it slides back again.
Conceptually I got the basics of that to work. The issue I'm having is that when the user moves the mouse between the buttons in the sidebar it kicks in changing state and side bar slides back again. I tried using different types of containers and I got the same results.[code]...
