I have a news scroller which is working apart from one thing: The end of the text string does not quite scroll completely off the screen - it disappears into thin air near the end and THEN starts scrolling from right to left again. How do I make it so the text scrolls completely off the screen before returning?

I'd like the words in the string to type out in the allotted time, but for some reason my function appends the first and last letter of anything in the string, so "Hello?" becomes "ello." This is not affected if I pad the text in the string with spaces, i.e. " Hello? " Nor does this work if I start count i at -1, not 0.

I need to use full screen mode in my flash application, for some reason when i go into full screen mode in safari or chrome, the stage is completely disabled. I tried using a very clean swf file with nothing on it, just 2 buttons: one for full screen and the other for normal screen, and still i can't click on anything after going into full mode. In IE and FF everything works fine

I've tested this on 2 Android phones, the HTC Incredible (Android v2.2) and the HTC Thunderbolt (Android v2.2.1), and it works fine on both.
I have run into this before, and just ran into it again, and was completely confused how a bytearray converted to a string was only 4 characters long. The problem is, if you EVER try to append a NULL character (not the ActionScript null, but the string value of the char 0), it cuts off the end of the string when printing out in trace or displaying onstage. HOWEVER, if you trace out the length of the string, you get the full length, so the problem arises trying to print the contents onto trace or the stage.

I've gotten to chapter 5 in my AS 3.0 classroom book but I need to use wisdom today (CHAPTERS before I gain it for myself),I need to create a custom scroll bar with buttons that function just like the UIScrollBar but more visually suited to our projects. the boss demands it.
I found several tutorials on creating the custom scrollBar, however, they don't include the buttons and I'm unable to find a tutorial on how to create a button scroller (I figured I could link them both to my "info_txt" after creating them separately).

View 2 RepliesI've a flash games site, and Im having a lot of difficulties to make it show in internet explorer 8.When you are playing any flash, the arrow keys that should belong to the flash scroll the page up and down (probably left and right too). This was happening in both ie7 and ie8.I placed the flash inside an iframe, that fixed to IE7, but the problem persists on IE8.If I change the flash wmode from transparent to window, the page stops scrolling, but this breaks all my menus and banners, that get hidden behind the flash when they expand.How can I place a flash, with wmode transparent, and make arrow keys work in the expeted way in IE8?

Since I have the movie set at 100% width and height the scroll bars don't exist. I'm trying to make built in scroll bars in flash that will activate when the movie gets cropped as such. I only need them for a few pages. I'm not sure if I am going about this the easiest way..I know you can do it if it was just one movieclip but the site is alot more complicated than just one movieclip.
