ActionScript 2.0 :: XML Attribute: How To List Values Without Duplicates
Oct 26, 2006
Using the XML below as an example, how would I list all the available countries, but without duplicates. Same for the "industry" attribute. I'm using MX 2004, btw.
Let's start with the following XML: Code: <swatches> <swatch> <swatchName>Plaid</swatchName> <swatchColors> <color>black</color> [Code] ..... I want to return a list of the <color> values without having any duplicates.
I am making a drag and drop game using AS2 in Flash CS5 where mc items are duplicated and enlarged from a menu and can be placed anywhere on the stage to create a custom robot. Each part (arms, head, feet, etc.) is it's own mc with unique instance names. I have the drag and drop part all figured out, and I even have the duplicateMovieClip part working...
HOWEVER... Whenever I move from the current frame that an object was duplicated in, to another frame and then back, the clips dissapear one by one if you try to create a new one. Each list of menu items are in their own frames (heads, torsos, arms, etc.). As the duplicates are made, they remain on stage no matter what frame you go to and can still be dagged around, which is good, but as I said previously, they dissappear when you create a new duplicate. Not all disappear at once, only older created duplicates disappear as you bring in new duplicates.
I'm trying to match some events on stage to certain info from an XML doc.
For example, I have a movie clip instance named "id1234". In my XML, the attribute value for that particular node is also id1234.
So when I click on that mc, it's suppose to pull the XML data associated with id1234 from XML.
Is there anyway I can compare the current target value (that is whatever my mouse clicked) and search for the proper attribute in XML dynamically?
var _current:String = e.currentTarget.name; if (_current == ANY OF THESE XML ATTRIBUTE VALUES) { PULL THE CONTENT FROM THAT NODE; } else { Do something else; }
I'm using a custom component CheckBoxList DataGrid (http://blogs.adobe.com/aharui/2008/02/checkbox_selection_in_datagrid.html) and as dataProvider I have an ArrayCollection with items such this one:
name="item name" selected="true"
I would like the CheckBox list updated when the selected attribute is set to false or true in the data model.
Suppose I have a list of objects of a certain custom type and I need to find an object given only the value of one of its attributes, how do I do it?
Eg.
// Where user1 ... usern are objects of some class User users = [ user1, user2, user3 ... usern ] // How do I find out the objects that have the "foo" attribute set to "bar"
I have an xml with an xml-schema. The xml-schema defines an abstract complex type with 2 optional attributes that have default values. Then I have several complex types that extend the base one. And finally nodes of the types defined.So I load the xml and when I parse each node, the optional attributes are not present at all.I've tried fooling around with the namespaces, even[code]...
No luck. Something similar was being experienced by this guy on codingforums, but that was like 5 years ago. Same is happening to me with firefox 3.0.11 - the xml is shown without the default attributes.For now I'm setting the default values in code, but isn't there a way to make them available from the xml-schema?[code]...
I am able to get <styling> as a XML but I cannot figure out how to parse the style object in order get the color, fontFamily fontSize attribute values. I am also unable to access the lang attribute value <tt xml:lang="en">
I have them appearing fine in the component definition panel, but the values entered here seem to be overridden by the component inspector and the var doesn't appear here unless I enter it manually and then there's no way to make it a list.In my class I have:
Code: [Inspectable(defaultValue="controls", type="list", enumeration="controls,noControls")] public var controlValue;
I would like to know how to delete(clear) the existing list data values before binding new values. I'm using the list for binding data dynamically using http services. When I make a new call to the service, I want the exiting items to be flushed and bind the newly retrieved data to the same list. How can I achieve this?
how do I sort the list component by numerical values? At the moment, the sort sorts as follows 1 10 100 2 20 200 3 30 300...i want it to be 1 2 3 10 20 30 100 200 300...I am using the following code to accomplish this.[code].Is there a way I can reuse my listeners because basically the actions of the lists are the same...when you mouse over the elements I want the booths to highlight.when you click it zooms to a booth and highlights it something else...I am accomplishing this by duplicating the listeners [code]
I am using a List with an ArrayCollection as a DataProvider. The list uses ComboBox as Item Renderer itemRenderer="mx.controls.CheckBox"I would like to bind the values in the List.You have a list with several comboboxes, and those values are loaded dynamically from an ArrayCollection.The ArrayCollection contains Objects with a boolean property for which I should bind the True/False values selected in the comboboxes.
I am having trouble parsing some xml that has a few attribute names with : characters in them. The compiler is not throwing any errors and when I trace my complete xml object out it is all there, however when I try to trace out any element or node it keeps comming up undefined. I removed the attribute names with : characters in them and everything works fine. I cant seem to target the attributes either to delete them.
I have a Flex List which is databound to a Array. My problem is that when I reorder the List using the built in dragMoveEnabled, the values are reset to the original values.I assume I need to somehow do a two-way databinding but I am not sure how.
Environment: Flex/As3/Cairgorm/composite component.I have two comboboxes and two datagrids such that the selection of combobox 1, inserts data into combobox two and the fist datagrid.The selection of combobox 2 inserts data into datagrid 2.I have setup the change event so that the user selection on each of the combo boxes do the right thing. The problem is that on the initial load of the comboboxes, the change event does not fire and subsequent synchronization data loading does not happen.Is there an event for getting the itemselected (1st item) after the combobox is initialized?
I have been trying to figure out how you could add in custom attribute tags that flash can recover.
EX: <param name = "movie" value = "somefile.swf"> <embed src = "somefile.swf" width = "550" height = "400">
Except, that I would like to add a Custom tag, like "randNum" so that the tag user could input some number, or rather, a flash movie could generate a tag with a number already put in...Basically, heres a really basic version of the idea.There is a Flash Movie.In the movie, you can input text into a textfield.Upon finishing your message, you click a button "save".
The flash movie then:
1. Comes up with a random number unique to the message.
2. Assigns that number to a variable... "randNum".
3. Saves message as a xml file to the server as "filename" + randNum.
4. Outputs into a textfield a generated HTML tag that a user can post on myspace and such so that it will load in the flash movie.
Except... in the tag, there will be a custom attribute. If the random number variable "randNum" was 00112233, the custom attribute will be 00112233.
So when the movie opens, it retrieves that randNum from the tag and can use it inside flash. How can this be done? Sorry this post was so long, but I wanted everyone to understand the concept.
I have a movieclip in the library that I am exporting for actionscript. I duplicate the movieclip by adding a child for each occurance of a tag in actionscript. This works fine, but I can't figure out how to change the y postion of each new child to be 30 pixels below form the last child. Here is a snippet of the code where I am having the problem:
for (var i in xmlData.region){ for (var k in xmlData.region[i].regionInfo.payment); var mcRI:regionInfo = new regionInfo(); this.addChild(mcRI); mcRI.txtPayment.htmlText = xmlData.region[i].regionInfo.payment[k].card; mcRI.y += 30; } }
Instead of each new child's y position changing +30, every duplicate is on top of each other at +30.
I have created a movie clip ("container_mc") and then created 5 clips within "container_mc." I want to duplicate "container_mc" twice, along with its contents.One will positioned to the left of the original and one will be to the right.When I attempt this, I am able to duplicate "container_mc." However, the duplicates do not have the 5 clips in them.
Ive got a little problem here. You can see im duplicating some movieClips, in a for loop. They have some XML values, but thats not important. When i click one of the movieClips ive duplicated, ive set it to add one to the "length" variable. But i somehow need it to run though the code from start, when i press that button. And if its possible, to delete all the duplicates it made before.
