ActionScript 2.0 :: Attach Clips Based On Elements In An Array?
Jun 6, 2006
I'm trying to attach clips based on elements in an array. then when all the clips are attached, i'm using setinterval to have the attached clips slide onto the stage and stop in a row.the name of the dyamically attached clip isn't tracing in my function (the one with interval set).
I would like to dynamically create elements based on the array. I would like to just put the array name and append _panel. so menu_item_panel will become settings_panel, info_panel,etc. I cannot figure out how to do that?
I am trying to load an array of web_thumbs into an array of thumb "holders" I've got the holders loading in a grid but then the way I have it, all of the web_thumbs load into each of the holders instead of one web_thumb per holder - I've tried it every which way and this is as close as I can get it without help... Can someone tell me what i need to do to have one web_thumb load into each thumb holder? This is what i have in place:
var dataLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); dataLoader.load(new URLRequest("web_thumbs.xml")); dataLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onDataLoaded);[code]..........
i'm trying to figure out how to reset or refresh clips that are dynamically attached to another clip based on records returned through xml.asically if the user chooses a different filter for the database query I need to be able to refresh a scrolling list made up of clips which will be different based on the filter.this is what I have for a function. I try to use "attachEmptyMovieClip" but to no avail
Code: getAll=function(){ members = getMembers.firstChild.childNodes;
Is there any way to attach custom data to elements? Kind of like the $.data() function in jQuery?I know you can subclass and element and add custom parameters, but it would be an overkill to create custom class just to add a single custom parameter.
I've been trying to move array elements from one array to another using the push method. The problem is that the element pushed should any longer be on the first array where it was taken from. That's where i'm stuck..
I have a problem positioning a Flash element inside a div tag. The problem is, that the flash element is changing it's size based on the user input. I need a way how I can dynamically get the actual size of the flash element, and to change the behavior of the div element the flash is integrated in. actually I want to place it in the middle of the div. right now I gave the flash element width and height of 100% but that way I can not center the element inside the div...
If I am a subclass of an Array, how do I access an element?
class ArrayOfFoo extends Array { public function getFooAt(anIndex : int) : Foo { return this[anIndex] as Foo; // <---- looks for an object attribute (named "0", for example) } }
I could wrap an array instead of subclassing it, however lacking a universal IArray interface, that is less than useful for standard and custom functions expecting an Array.
I have a custom class I am working on, one of the methods is:[code]Inside that function a dynamic TextField is created called txtLoaded, it is declared with [code]mcProg is added to the stage, I see the txtLoaded txt field drawn as well and I can trace properties of mcProg from elsewhere in the class but I cannot access mcProg.txtLoaded from anywhere else in the class.I imagine this must be a scoping issue, with txtLoaded only existing inside the createProgress method, but is there any way for me to be able to access txtLoaded from elsewhere in the class?
Is it possible to, if you have an array of class names like ActionScript Code: var city01names:Array = ["pic_01", "pic_02", "pic_03" ...] make a new array which would read these names, instantiate them, and push them into a new array containing the instances of all these pictures, which I could then use for a slideshow?
i have an error in my game project. i am trying to attach 5 different movieClips in an Array.but i dont want these movie clips to be appear on the stage when i attach these. but these movie clips appears on the stage as soon as loop executes.
here's the code:
var terrorists:Array = new Array(); for(i=1;i<=5;i++) { var terrorist:MovieClip=attachMovie("terrorist_"+i, "terrorist_" + i, i); terrorists.push(terrorist); }
Is it possible to do what this tutorial shows but instead of having your mcs be positioned related to the stage, have them be positioned related to the browser window?
how to reorder an array based on the information contained in another array. What my script is currently doing is detecting all the attached monitors I have and then ordering them based on their left bounds. However I then want to reorder the screens location in the array based on whether the user has selected that display or not. If the user has selected it, by clicking a button, the button movie clip will be on frame two, if they haven't been chosen it will be on frame one. So what I am doing is then creating two separate arrays, chosen screens and not chosen screens, and then combining them into one.
Code: if(displayButton.currentFrame==displayButton.totalFrames) { //sort the chosen ones into an array
[Code]....
My problem now is being able to reorder a separate array which contains all the screens, called screenArray, based off of that. screenArray currently returns [Object Screen], [Object Screen], [Object Screen], etc... and is in the order of 1,2,3,4,5,6. How do I take then and get it to be equal to the order of my displayButtonsChosen Array of 1,3,5,2,4,6?
I am attaching mc's from the library using xml to populate the textfields. What I am wanting to do is show the first six mc's, then after say 10 seconds show the next six. With a text field displaying "1 of 3", after 10 seconds, "2 of 3" ....etc. A bit similar to image galleries really (sorry if I haven't explained this very well).Anyhoo, heres what I have so far, it loads the mc's one after each other:
How do you empty an array. I want the array complete empty, so the array length =0. I have tried this code, but that doesnt take away all elements in an array, just a few.
for (i=0; i<myArray.length; i++) { myArray.pop(); }
i am taking text from xml file,I have created multiple movie clips based on the xml file. i have placed 5 movie clips to left side and 5 movie clips to right side.Now i have to drag the left movie clip to the right side and i have to drop it on respective movie clip to match the target and i have to get the output as "correct" if the match is found. But for my below code i am getting only the "wrong" as output ,i dont know where is the error
I have a foreign language resource which randomly creates and displays a number. The player then needs to select the correct number in a particular foreign language. What i also need to do is play the audio for the randomly created number. I have numbers 13-20 all as seperate sound files also named as identifier names 13,14,15 etc up to 20.
The following script loads the sounds. Sound1 is the sound which needs to hold the random number which is generated:
ActionScript Code: onClipEvent(load){ Sound1 = new Sound(); rndClip = ????????;
[Code]....
I need to load this array as Sound1 so that the correct sound file plays to match the random number.
In a fla file (flash8) I added an "Input-text" naming the var: "varInput", and selected "Numeral [0..9]" from "Character Embedding".I added another input object, this time of "Dynamic -text" text type naming the var:"varOutput". I also added a button naming its' instance name:"btnDisplay".In "actions" panel I wrote the following [code]....
I´m trying to order elements of an array. When the dates come from dynamics text it´s no problem, bad when come from input text the dates are treated like strings and it´s impossible to order correctly, because 15 is considered less than 3. In both cases I can operate correctly whit this dates like numbers.How is possible to order this dates from input text, like numbers?
I have array with 5 boxes. I show this boxes on the stage + showing it random. Now I want add events for this boxes. For example if I click to box1 I must go to 'p4', if I click to any other boxes I must go to 'p3'.
I try to make the same like for buttons, but its not working: classNames[0].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goCorrect); function goCorrect(event:MouseEvent):void { trace("p4"); gotoAndStop('p4'); [Code] .....
is there an easy way, using 1 or more for loops, to hit test every object in an array against every other object in that array. So I've got an array of 6 things
