I have a CMS where my client can upload videos, and his clients can log in and view various videos.
I'm having trouble going cross platform with all the browsers and video formats, so I thought it would be easier to convert the video to FLV and post it to the site. I do believe this is possible.
The stop button plays as expected. The play/pause button plays as expected. The issue is when you press pause which will cause the play button to appear, then press stop. the video automatically plays and it shouldn't. I have bolded the control button script for convenience.

Which,in theory would be faster using a conditional or allowing the Flash engine to automatically convert the values?

I'm making a site in flash and I have a video in the middle that autoplays when you come on the site. I have used Adobe media encoder to convert a test video to a .flv and just embedded it into the flash. This really increases the filesize and I don't want to wait long everytime I upload the swf to our FTP server.
I know there is a way to make sort of placeholder using getVideo (or something like that), but I didn't manage to make it working.
I can't get my Flash video to *not* start downloading when I access my page.

There are six videos on this page. When I access it, all the videos start to download - the progress bar on all videos shows the downloading.
is there any function or method in actionscript that automatically get the specific video image. Like in youtube after the user upload the video. Youtube will get the the middle image of the video. Ex video length is 3 mins, the picture in 1:30 is the image it will get and put it as its thumbnail.

From what Ive read the SWF should loop automatically. But it doesnt. Is there AS3 code I can add to make it loop seamlessly? I made the F4V a movieclip in order to add some filters. eventually I'll add one button and thats it. This will be a splash page for a website.

When the page loads the video plays without any problems, but I would like to make it so the user decides when the video starts rather than it automatically starting when the page loads. Is there any way to do this?

I imported a video in my "about me" section of my website with a skin chosen from within flash. However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?
And what would be the code if I wanted to reduce the volume at 50% for example but have the video play automaticly?
I have a flvplayback component on my stage at the end of my presentation that plays a .flv with an external .xml file for captions (using the flvplaybackcaptioning component targeted to my flv player). When the video begins to play, the captions automatically appear over the video. Is there a way to make it so the video begins to play without the captions automatically turned on?

For the application I am developing it is imperetive that the next video gets played as soon as the previous video finished.

I can encode Flash video, and place a nice skin (controller bar) into the file, within Fash, but when I place the final .SWF file into my Dreamweaver page (Insert-->Media-->Flash), and test it in a browser, the vid will play automatically and there is no skin (controller bar). The skin file is residing in the same folder as the .FLV and the .SWF file, but for some reason the skin refuses to allow itself to be seen.

I have a movie with two scenes, each scene has a video. When I go from one scene to the other, I want the video in the previous scene to stop playing. But when I go to the next scene, I can hear the video playing from the previous scene. How can I automatically stop the video from the previous scene, when I go to the next scene.

View 1 RepliesI am currently trying to create a function (or set of functions) that automatically fades in a button for each cue point in a video the first time a video loads. This way the buttons only become accessible once that point in the video has passed. The buttons should stay active once the video is loaded.
The code below is what I have so far. Essentially all I have managed to do is trace the name of the cuePoint. I believe what I need to do is somehow assign the cue point name to an object, pass that reference to the "fadeIn" function and run the "fadeIn" function.It is worth noting that the buttons I am fading in are already on the timeline, so I do not need to create them in code. I just need to reference them.

I recently got a project in which i have create a whole set of flash animations and then convert them into video to be put on dvd. Now since they are going to be put on dvd's so there is not going to be any user interaction but a continuous playing stream.
I was thinking of putting all the texts into xml files and then calling them in the flash file but if i will have to convert them into video file then will the video file work the same way as the flash file?
i set up a function to check and display the duration of my video in a dynamic text field. It works fine but I am trying to have it display as min and sec.(00:00). What would be the best way to do this?

I want to convert a ByteArray wich contains a .flv file read through a socket connection to a video playable object and play it, or attach it somehow to the netstrem as its source. Why this ? I'm trying to write an app using AS 3.0 that connects two swf clients to each other directly without a server (after they know of each other) and allow them to exchange video sequences. So the reverse way video -> bytearray -> network -> reciever ->video would be of interest aswell.

Size: HDTV 720P. (1280 X 720) pixels. 30FPS. (Frames per second)Format: stream format: HDV-HD1. Stream Type: MPEG-2. Transport Stream(TS). Aspect Ratio: 16:9. Britate Type: CBR (Constant Bitrate).

I tried some conversion programs to do the job:

Magic Swf2AviXilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6Total Video Converter HD All of them recognizes the swf file fine, ( I set up the fla file with 1280 X 720 pixels and 30 fps) but when I try to export to a video format with the previous specifications using any of the programs, I get a very slow video, not smooth at all, and sometimes a large video with 2+ minutes (supposed to be only 10 sec). The swf file plays fine
I have a Flash-file with some ActionScript code that loads an RSS-feed and animates the content. Now I need to convert that to a video file to use on an external display. Since the RSS-feed updates quite often, this needs to be automated and preferably run on Linux.
So far, I've only found tools to convert FLV to another video format, but that isn't exactly what I need.
Are there any tools available to do this or can it only be done manually through Adobe Flash?
