is there any function or method in actionscript that automatically get the specific video image. Like in youtube after the user upload the video. Youtube will get the the middle image of the video. Ex video length is 3 mins, the picture in 1:30 is the image it will get and put it as its thumbnail.

I have this piece of code to change images. I was trying to figure out how you could put a timer on the code, so if the image has been displayed for say 5 seconds it diverts to the next image automatically? Also if it's not to hard, when it has played to the end to divert to the 1st image.

I can't get my Flash video to *not* start downloading when I access my page.
The problem page is [url]..
There are six videos on this page. When I access it, all the videos start to download - the progress bar on all videos shows the downloading.
I have a CMS where my client can upload videos, and his clients can log in and view various videos.
I'm having trouble going cross platform with all the browsers and video formats, so I thought it would be easier to convert the video to FLV and post it to the site. I do believe this is possible.
This should be an easy one for you pros AND novice alike. Im creating a single flash page with one F4V video on one key frame. simple. From what Ive read the SWF should loop automatically. But it doesnt. Is there AS3 code I can add to make it loop seamlessly? I made the F4V a movieclip in order to add some filters. eventually I'll add one button and thats it. This will be a splash page for a website.

When the page loads the video plays without any problems, but I would like to make it so the user decides when the video starts rather than it automatically starting when the page loads. Is there any way to do this?

I imported a video in my "about me" section of my website with a skin chosen from within flash. However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?

I have a flvplayback component on my stage at the end of my presentation that plays a .flv with an external .xml file for captions (using the flvplaybackcaptioning component targeted to my flv player). When the video begins to play, the captions automatically appear over the video. Is there a way to make it so the video begins to play without the captions automatically turned on?

For the application I am developing it is imperetive that the next video gets played as soon as the previous video finished.

I can encode Flash video, and place a nice skin (controller bar) into the file, within Fash, but when I place the final .SWF file into my Dreamweaver page (Insert-->Media-->Flash), and test it in a browser, the vid will play automatically and there is no skin (controller bar). The skin file is residing in the same folder as the .FLV and the .SWF file, but for some reason the skin refuses to allow itself to be seen.

I have a movie with two scenes, each scene has a video. When I go from one scene to the other, I want the video in the previous scene to stop playing. But when I go to the next scene, I can hear the video playing from the previous scene. How can I automatically stop the video from the previous scene, when I go to the next scene.

Ok this isn't as much of a flash issue but I can't figure out why the page loads this way. For those that can't see the image when myspace loads it automatically has the typing indicator on the search bar so if one of my friends trys to use my cmd prompt he types something in it searches on mysace. The only way around this is to click in the grey area / off the search bar then click the input box to begin typing. I'm wondering if there is a way if you guys know the where my flash input box gets priority over the typing indicator blinky thing.

I haven't worked with Flash since version 4.0, so I'm still trying to figure out Adobe's setup. 4.0's setup was so easy when it came to replaying a video once it hit the last keyframe, but I'm so lost in this ActionScript stuff.

View 1 RepliesI am currently trying to create a function (or set of functions) that automatically fades in a button for each cue point in a video the first time a video loads. This way the buttons only become accessible once that point in the video has passed. The buttons should stay active once the video is loaded.
The code below is what I have so far. Essentially all I have managed to do is trace the name of the cuePoint. I believe what I need to do is somehow assign the cue point name to an object, pass that reference to the "fadeIn" function and run the "fadeIn" function.It is worth noting that the buttons I am fading in are already on the timeline, so I do not need to create them in code. I just need to reference them.

I need to learn how feasible it is to automatically assemble Flash animations which take a background image, an animation (or a set of vector drawings that can be turned into an animation) and a sound file from a set of files. In other words, assume that I have the following set of files:
3 background images (let's assume JPG)
3 animations (no sound, no static background)
100 sound files (let's assume MP3)
So if I want to code something like:

take animation i

resulting_swf = assemble (animation[i], background[i], sound_file[j])

Which will produce 900 Flash animations with different combinations of sound and background, what is the starting point? Are there some libraries (in Python, Perl, PHP, etc.) with good documentation and examples to develop something like that, some program that I can run from the command line?

My project I am working on has an app that will upload image files to a specific folder on my server what I would like to do is have it load all the files in that folder through flash without me having to manually add the names of the files into the coding if possible.
I can create an image slideshow but I have to put in each and every .jpg and such I would prefer not to do that as in the future there may be more then 5-10 images.
In addition I already have the app created that uploads files.

View 1 RepliesHas anybody messed with PurePDF. I'm trying to set up a SWC library for it and I've gotten stuck on the layering part. If you just put in a background image and a table it automatically creates 2 pages instead of just layering the object. They have a function for layering object but the only tutorial out there is showing how to layer rectangle graphics. Here's my code.

if works up untill that point but it doesn't recognize a table or an embedded image as a PdfContentByte and that's all it will let you add to the layering list.
I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.
