I am putting together a small slideshow of pictures and it's only about 350 frames. I haven't worked with Flash since version 4.0, so I'm still trying to figure out Adobe's setup. 4.0's setup was so easy when it came to replaying a video once it hit the last keyframe, but I'm so lost in this ActionScript stuff.
How do I get the video to loop back and start playing again automatically?
I have a video file which plays fine but it plays as soon as the welcome page starts. I have some small text animation which needs to play first and after 45 Seconds my video should start playing automatically. How to achieve this? Using actionscript 3.

However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?
And what would be the code if I wanted to reduce the volume at 50% for example but have the video play automaticly?

View 4 RepliesI have an instance of the flvPlayBack component on my stage called myVideo a list of links down the lhs is used to pop in the required video.If a user gets say 1/3 of the way into a video and the presses a different link for a different video then: the new video pops up but the seek bar is still some way into the new video there is a pause of around 1 sec the seek bar goes back to the start.I want to speed up the return of the seek bar to the start of the new video.

I know extremely little about Flash, and have been sent a completed SWF file, which I have inserted into my webpage with the code below.The problem is that it starts playing automatically. This should be an easy one for you pros AND novice alike. Im creating a single flash page with one F4V video on one key frame. simple. From what Ive read the SWF should loop automatically. But it doesnt. Is there AS3 code I can add to make it loop seamlessly? I made the F4V a movieclip in order to add some filters. eventually I'll add one button and thats it. This will be a splash page for a website.

I DO NOT KNOW FLASH - let's just get that straight. I do not know actionscript, and I'm not familiar ith the interface. But I do know how to open a document, drag a .flv into the frame, add a playback skin, and save a swf for use on a web page.
The problem is that the videos all start playing on default. I'd like the user to have to hit the "play" button to play the video so that they are not inundated with sound when the page loads.
How do I play at video, but starting from say 20 seconds in?
View 1 RepliesI have an .flv file that I was able to extract from a YouTube video. The video belongs to a friend and she wants it on her site without the YouTube wrapper it now has. I want to put it on her website and have it play automatically when the page opens. I cannot get this to work. I can get a link to show and when I click on it, it prompts me to save it or play in media-player or such. Then it will download and start to play.What I'd like is for the page to just start playing the file when the page opens.
I've seen sites where a .flv file is hosted and when going to the page, the video just plays. I've never worked with these files before. I have worked with Flash some and created .swf files for the web. Never, just a .flv file.
1) I want a 60 seconds video to start playing after 40 seconds have been downloaded - to do that I set the NetStream.bufferTime to 40 seconds and retrieve "NetStream.Buffer.Full" event causing the video to really start playing. This step is OK.
2) However, the "NetStream.Buffer.Full" causes data to stop downloading. So the remainder of the video begins to download no sooner than after the 40 seconds have been played. This step is my issue. Can anyone tell me how to avoid this unintended effect? (i.e. playing a video and downloading data at the same time?)
I have this sample code from the e-book: "Learning Flash Media Server 3". The purpose of the code is to create a FLV. The code is not running as it should. When I click on the 'record' button, the label is to change to 'recording', that dosen't seem to happen and also when I click on the 'Stop Record' button, I get the following error:
"TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.at MinRecord/stopRecord()"

My deduction is that the 'if' statement in the 'startRecord' function is not resolving to 'true' and hence the label is not changing to 'Recording'. Also I feel that the assingment to the variable 'ns' of type NetStream is not being done and hence in the function 'stopRecord' I get the above mentioned error message when I click on the stop button. How do I rectify these problems?
I mean youtube or any other streaming video site, but I've seen it on Youtube. There are times that the loaded bar shows that more than enough video stream has been loaded so the player could play it but it suddenly pauses and shows the loading icon?

I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.

I can encode Flash video, and place a nice skin (controller bar) into the file, within Fash, but when I place the final .SWF file into my Dreamweaver page (Insert-->Media-->Flash), and test it in a browser, the vid will play automatically and there is no skin (controller bar). The skin file is residing in the same folder as the .FLV and the .SWF file, but for some reason the skin refuses to allow itself to be seen.
I have created animated presentations (since now, I have just videos) for my seminars at the university with cinema 4D and I added some effects with After Effects (CS5). Now, I want to build an interactive presentation. That means:
- The (video projector) presentation starts with a video in a loop.
- When I click a button on the mouse/keyboard, the video finishes the loop until the end and
- show a transition video and
- start the next loop and so on...

I am wondering, how can I play this as a list; like a playlist, and then loop back to restart? I'd like to do this in the stand alone player however it can only seem to load 1 file at a time. BUT when i uploaded the entire "site" on my web server - surprize The stream does not start. And i don't understand why. I've uploaded the exact structure ... and i also know that it reads well from the xml file, cause it loads the video thubnails and names ... just the video won't start.
View 3 RepliesI do animation as a hobby on youtube (using a combination of Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas, and a few other programs for specifics such as morphing and mouth movements), and I was recently contacted by someone who wanted me to do some work for their website by making animation. The catch is, however, that they want my videos to be in flash format with the option to start playing (and repeat) when a person rolls over the scenes with their mouse.
Now, I was able to figure out how to convert my videos into Flash F4V format (yea!), but I can't figure out for the life of me what to do next. All of the tutorials I've read talk about inserting buttons and changing instances and setting things to over and... it doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
I'm not a dummy... but I've never used this program before, and a lot of the videos out there seem to assume a familiarity with the product.
It "sounds" like it should be something easy and simple enough to do, but I must be missing something obvious here.
my video starting at the first keyframe (it starts at kf 10). I was trying to solve this for more than an hour and cant. I think the problem somehow has to do with the fact my animations stops at keyframe 10, so I added a code snippet that stops the scene at 10. Dont get why this would start the video at 10, but cant seem to figure out any other reason, when I remove code snippet, all scenes start to play, but each scene moves too fast (since they are only graphs) so I cant test if the action layer is the issue.
