ActionScript 2.0 :: Change The Focus Of An Object?
Dec 22, 2003
What code would I use to change the focus of an object so it would rotate around the center of the screen like for a car game with a scrolling bground that moved based on key presses?
What code would I use to change the focus of an object so it would rotate around the center of the screen like for a car game with a scrolling ground that moved based on key presses?
for example i have object one a Textinput haveing id="
id_txtBox
", and a panel having a lot of children(TextInputs, Trees, Buttons etc.) if user is editing text in one of panel's child and then clik on "id_txtBox". can we get to know
I'm trying to create a fairly simple interface where the user can theoretically move up and down four vertical menu buttons with the cursor keys, selecting the option they prefer with the enter key. Obviously this requires focusing on a different button every time they move up or down, but I'm damned if I can figure out how to do this
I'm writing an application using a DataGrid DG1 in a MovieClip MC1. The User can click on DG1 and edit it, ok, no problem. But when the User begins to edit the content of a specific cell of DG1, I want to open a dedicated wizard in front of it. In the first step of that wizard popup (MovieClip MC2, child of MC1), there is another DataGrid (DG2) and I would like the User to be able to directly use the up and down keyboard arrows to browse the DG2 content without having to click it first.
But the keyboard events are then captured by DG1. I tried to use a stage.focus, setFocus, I triggered MouseEvents on DG2 but nothing to do, I have to physically click on it before the keyboard events are sent to it. So, my question is: how to, within MC1, tell Flash the keyboard events will be triggered on DG2 ? Can we ask DG1 to loose the (keyboard) focus ?
There are 5 movieclips on the stage (btn0 to btn4). I wanted to change focus pressing Keyboard.UP and Keyboard.DOWN. But the focus changes not in correct order. It jumps in mysterious way from 0 to 2 and so on.[code]
I'm having a game in which i control an MC with the keyboard arrows and when i click outside of the flash application and back in the MC loses focus. The focus changes to a button within the stage. What i've observed is that the Flash Player has a built-in control that moves focus from an item to the other with the arrow keys.
I have a TextInput and a Canvas object both inside an HBox object. When the input text field has focus it highlights, I would like to change this to be the containing HBox that highlights when the Input Text has focus.Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do that?Here is my code:
I've got a form that the user enters numeric values in to a series of text Input fields. I want to allow the user to use the arrow keys in addition to the tab keys to control the active focus of the fields.
I set up a 2D array with the names of the input fields as values. I'm trying to call the name of the input field from the array and then assigning the focus, but I'm getting Error 1067 implicit coercion errors.
I've been trying to set up this test page for my flash game but it refuses to gain focus on load. I read a bunch of forum entries and didn't get it to do anything, I can't really believe this should be so hard.
Here's what I have:
<head> <title>UP HERE WE ESCAPE THE RAT RACE</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/swfobject
I know there are a billion questions regarding what books are best and I'm sorry for posting another, but all of them see to have an orientation to a language I am not familiar with.
My problem is I learned to program before OO became big, then I stopped programming for a few years, moved into web design, moved into coldFusion, and now find myself in PHP, actionScript and FLEX.
I have muddled along for quite some time, but I am really struggling with my understanding of OO and would like a good book that will help me out with it. If that book is geared towards Flex and AS3 then that would be awesome, but if it had no language specified either I would be happy. I'm just not sure how reading a book oriented to Java or whatever is going to help my understanding of AS3.
when i have this line active(the red one) it gives me automatic focus, so no clicking to be able to detect key input so i got that going for me which is nice BUT when i have it active(not commented out) i get this big yellow line which goes away when i click it(seeBelow)
I have problems in my flash project. I cant duplicete some pictures or "group items" , when I copy/paste them and when I start to edit that one that I copyed it automacly edit the original version...I cant duplicate this object on picture ( http:[url]....)... what ever I do..it always start to change the oroginal object...
Just taking Koolmoves for a test drive and ran into a snag, I want to change the opacity of some shapes/objects that Ive created but I cant seem to find an option to adjust the opacity anywhere.
I have been trying to change the depth of an object. I have only just started learning AS3, so I haven't looked into this yet.So far I have been using a trial-&-error method to try to get this piece of code to work which I found on a site, but I have not succeeded:
Code:
setChildIndex(example,numChildren-1);
I am putting this code in it's class, and I tried replacing the word example with 'this'. Can someone please help me? When I test the swf it comes up with this in output:
Code:
ArgumentError: Error #2025: The supplied DisplayObject must be a child of the caller. at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/setChildIndex() at Foreground/enterFrame()
I want to create a XML file that I can change for different languages. It contains the names of the fields that have text and the text that they should be changed to: eg. <lang name="titleLabel" value="This is the app title" />. I can read in the XML lines into an array but I can't figure out how to use the name as an object name:
I'm trying to do a cross-fade effect for my gallery. To do that, I'm using two movieclips, one that holds the image currently displayed, and another one that holds the image that should be displayed next. When the coming image is loaded, the cross-fade effect should happen, the container that holds the image that was on stage should be cleared out, then the image in the other container should be displaced to the former container. I'm almost there now, but I got stuck at the last part. Here's my code so far[code]...
I am feeding a player from xml, and I'm not able to get the track to change.
ActionScript Code: private var _currentTrackNum:int; public var playlistdata:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); public var locationarray:Array = new Array();
[code]....
The previous track function is basically the same. It does nothing, however. I can trace out _currentTrackNum and see that changing, but the song playing stays the same, even if i stop and start again, or build the stopping and starting into the function. BUT. I can change the value of currentTrackNum at the outset and it wil effect which song plays.. !?
I'm thinking maybe there is some kind of sound.unload function I need to try, but am quite confused as to why it doesn't work. The locationarray.length is coming out as 0 for some reason I don't fully understand, so I disabled that 'if' statement for incrementing track number but that didn't help..
I need to know if it's possible, and if so, how, to change the tint of an object using actionscript. For instance, if one was to select a specific button, the actionscript in that button would tell the object, in this case the background, to change its tint.
