ActionScript 2.0 :: Chromeless Window Alternative?

I've tried the chromeless script from chromeless.org but it doesn't work in windows XP SP1 and SP2. I need a pop up full screen window as I've designed the whole site with the full screen in mind and if I can't get a pop up, I got to redo everything!! I redid it twice and I'm not going to try the third!! OMG!! Anyone has alternative solutions for this? Or anyone has another version of the chromeless script that works with SP1 and SP2?

i have questions about the chromeless window components. i figured this may be the best forum for the post.
1. how do i control the size of the "close" button on the top right, and the position (also the minimize button's size and position)? i am trying to use a jpeg that is 80x30, but it is getting smooshed into what looks to be 25x25 pixels. how can i fix this to use whatever size image i want (could i also use an embedded flash file?).
2. how would i make the window's components shift to the bottom of the window (i.e., see www.microbians.com to see what i mean about this part)?

We'd like to have an app autorun when our clients put in our info CD. Is it possible to do this using Adobe AIR... We were thinking of using the Flash Projector cause it compiles to an .exe which is easily launched, but there's no way to get rid of the ugly window chrome is there?

I have implemented a chromeless windowedapplication in flex 4. But doing so i noticed that all the maximize, minimize and even the ability to drag the window around is gone. I need the ability to drag the window around. I have done a lot of googling and have been unable to come up with anything.

I'm embedding a video of YouTube by using their chromeless player, stretched and fit to all screen. the player includes by default their logo and it looks so huge so it ruins the graphic.in youtube site, they offer you to replace the original logo with new one - "Powered by Youtube", but they don't explain how to remove the original first.[code]...

I'm trying to use the Youtube Chromeless Player (the new AS3 version) in a Flex 4-based project. I'm using the examples provided by Google, but I'm not having any luck. The player loads, but it can't be interacted with. I'm receiving repeated security errors just from mousing over the player:

Recently I have made a simple flash application that utilizes a webcam feed and an embedded chromeless youtube player within it. I now need to make custom controls around the player but would like to be able to do that in html/css and control it with js/jquery. While I can find material helping me control the chromeless player directly ( as in solo embedded and not part of another flash app ). My question is that since the chromless player is embedded INSIDE of another flash app ( say test.swf ) can I still access the player in there from js?

I have implemented chromeless player and so far the necessary controls such as play, pause, change video, mute, unmute all appear to work fine through JavaScript. I now need to send the chromeless player to "Full Screen" mode via JavaScript.
The JavaScript API player includes the full screen button but the chromeless player does NOT; infact; the chromeless player is not supposed to contain ANY button. I therefore need to set full screen mode via JavaScript but could not find any documented method for this.

I'm working on a prototype that would require me being able to read and track the mouse movement over a playing youtube video. The basic code to replicate my problem boils down to this simple test case:

Expected behavior is:
Youtube player loads The label on the top right tracks the X coordinate of the mouse The number should update even when moving the mouse over the Youtube player
So far the program behaves as expected when running from the IDE (tested on both FlashDevelop and FlashBuilder) and even when running the file manually from the output folder. But, alas, when I try to run it from anywhere else than the debug folder (be it another location on my computer or up on a webserver), the Youtube player seems to eat the events.
I don't get sandbox security warnings when debugging (thanks to allowDomain("*")) but I'm running out of ideas on why the program fails once you take the file out of the debug folder.

I made a script which will tile dynamic mc in a way that after a number of clips (say 5) in a row, i would like the 6th mc to position on the next row below the first row, like this:

6 7 8 9 10
i was able to do it thru series of if-else if statements but the thing is that i was wondering if there's a better logic in doing this, i was thinking of using switch statement but is there a way to type "i>=9 && i<=20" into a case parameter? here is the code and i have also attached the fla if anyone would like to see:

I have created a Flash application for a "big" client which communicates heavily with the server. Flash app is initially loaded with a big XML file, which is retrieved by an aspx file. Then every 5 seconds, it calls a different aspx file to update. There are 3 asp files, which also sends back XMLs, that it calls periodically on top of the aspx file. Buttons on the app calls 4 different asp files with data being sent via querystring, but, uses the XML.sendAndLoad commands since we want the communication being done behind the scene.
During testing on development and live sites, we noticed no problems. We had sporadic complaints about the application being slow, but, they were so rare that we let it slide.
Now, it seems more frequent. I went back to the application and tried utilizing the built-in garbage collection by deleting all temporary variables, but, that didn't seem to improve much.
Given this scenario... is there anything I could try to improve the speed of server communications?

I have an application requiring exporting of Flash animations to run on an embedded media player. This accepts a number of video formats. The most reliable I have found so far is DivX. The player supports DivX versions 3.11, 4.x & 5.x. The export codec in CS3 is DivX 6.8.5 which is not compatible with the player.The player also supports MPEG2 but the quality is not very good. Other options are Xvid Mpeg4 video (doesn't work) and MS Mpeg4 video codec V2 & V3 (also not supported in CS3).I have tried downloading a variety of alternative second source file converters but frankly tied myself in knots. Any idea how I can get around this problem and get a DivX 5.x codec to work natively within CS3?

I'm having huge bug issues with LocalConnection that nobody seems to be able to find errors in my code/files. So... I'm looking for an alternative. I need a main swf file to load an external swf including the ability to have it move from one frame to another. If this isn't a possibility, I can also just have the main swf hide/reveal a div or just an image in the html.

We have developed a magazine reader which is basically PHP application. Admin panel is built in PHP but when any user wants to read a particular magazine, it is handled by Flash i.e. we are embedding the .swf object with HTML in PHP page. But flash is not supported in iPad/iPhone. So we want to create this application in Xcode so that user can read the magazine in iPhone/iPad also. There is confusion how it can be accomplished.

Is there an alternative to attachMovie that I can use to put my movieclips on to the stage. Here is my problem, I have 2 frames total in my fla file, and in each frame I have buttons that when you click on them it attaches the corresponding image from the library. Problem is when you click to go to the next frame, the attached image stays.
I basically want it to stay attached only until you hit the next frame.

I'm looking for a lightweight alternative to the TileList component. I'm currently designing and developing an MPU Ad Creative that references an XML doc and pulls in four FLVs and their appropriate meta data. These videos will then be playable in the merch window, and there will be some opt-in data capture going on as well.
I've got a prototype going at the moment that grabs the XML and populates a TileList, and then uses ListEvent Listeners to add functionality to each of the ImageCells. All working fine, except that the file size is already at 47k without any of the data capture form fields in there. This is already over the TZ polite-load limit, and I've only added maybe 60% of the functionality. When I remove the TileList class, the swf shrinks down to 3k (a much nicer size ), and even after adding the remaining 40% I can't see this going much above 15k.
So, anyone know of anything I could use to replace TileList? I thought about creating my own class that holds all the information for each Video I need, but I thought I should check first to see if there are any other alternatives.

I tested my skin for YouTube Chromeless player, and seems it worked properly.All graphic elements, including TLFTextFields, are stored in external SWF, all the AS3 code - in loading SWF.I use ProLoader class to load SWF.However, when I tried to attach Player skin code to my Home Page code, I immediately bumped into two issues:
1. TLFTextFields ceased to display proper font;
2. YouTube Chromeless player ceased to enlarge up to Full Screen width in Full Screen mode, whereas all publishing settings were kept the same...
Although I managed to cope with TLFTextField bug by replacing instances with vars in loaded SWF, I have no the slightest idea what to do with those paddings in Full Screen mode... Neither removing all children on stage before loading YouTube Player skin, nor compulsory resetting player's size can't make it work...
