Im copying a preloader script from MX into flash 8 and gettin this error

This bit of code works perfectly well in a test file with a single button[code]...
... but when I copy it into the file I'm working on, which has no other actionscripts or buttons, just a lot of animation I get this compiler error[code]...

ran it from my desktop, it worked, posted it to the web, and the error message was gone, but the swf seemingly didn't run. If you were a visitor to my site, then you wouldn't know a swf existed on my home page.
I used the code below to make a preloader and it works fine when I try it locally, but gives me the following error when I try to use it in a website: "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found." The preloader is a swf that pulls in another swf after it loads. Also when I use the swf that the preloader is pulling in, it also works.

I am developing a photo gallery using the UILoader to load external (larger resolution) images after the thumbnail is clicked on. It appears everything is working when I test the movie, except I receive this error:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
Again the loader shows, and the picture loads when it is done, I'm just not sure about that error message. The action script for clicking on the thumbnail is:

I have nested my animation into a movie clip and have tried to use a pre-loader on it. The nested movie clip opening screen as a button on and the second screen as back and forward buttons. The movie clip works fine no problem until adding it to the pre-loader. The code for the pre-loader is (below) on frame 1 frame 2 to is tells it to stop and also were my nested movie clip is

I'm trying to add a preloader to my flash movie so the user doesn't have to wait for additional frames to load while they are navigating. When I try to shift my current frames over by 2 frames to make room for the preloader I get this error:

Everything works fine before I shift the frames by 2, so I don't understand why I'm getting a complier error abut an object not existing. What to do to add a pre-loader to my existing movie without moving everything over by two frames?

I've been having a problem with my percentage preloaders today... The script comes directly from this tutorial... and I've used the same script in at least 3 other Flash movies, but this time the Flash movie doesn't run properly, and i get this error:

I have two Flash files: pre-loader and application.
Pre-loader: (D:ProjectsFlashAppsddedd.fla) is doing basically this:

Application file: (D:ProjectsFlashAppsdddd.fla) is the real application and among other things is doing this:

When debugging the pre-loader, at this point I am getting an error which says:
SecurityError: Error #2148 File SWF http://localhost/flash/dd.swf cannot access local resource file:///D|/Projects/FlashApps/dd/assets/html/style.css.
The application must be loaded by the pre-loader, it won't start when called directly. But apparently, the security settings are preventing such duo from being possible to debug. Normally when it is on a remote server, it is working ok.
What I have done so far to resolve it:
Added crossdomain.xml to my local i:xampphtdocs folder:

Set File > Publish Settings -> Local Playback Security -> "Use local files only" in both files. It didn't work, so I set it to "Use network only" Also didn't work.
What else can be done to be able to debug these Flash files locally?
I have two flash files, the one Im editing and the original. I want to copy two perfect layers from the original and past them on the one im editing, but each time I copy, it only copies the image, cant copy the entire layer with the animation.

Is there a way to copy/assign a Loader directly? I tried assigning to 'content' but that's read-only. Basically I have an array of Loader objects that all get loaded with images. I then have a single Loader that's on the stage and I want to assign to it images (Loaders) from my array.
I have created a small flash application. There are swf files, folders with xml files and the base exe file.The application has been burned onto a CD and will be replicated. The problem I am having is Flash is pasting them back on the stage in a different spot than where they were when I copied them. This is totally messing up my tweens! View 1 RepliesI have been trying to copy a movie clip from the library of one flash and paste it into the library of another. But when I do this, it always gives me, "One or more library items already exist in the document.
I have tried finding and renaming those items, renaming the existing movie clip, and even changing it into a graphic instead. Still it always replaces these certain movie clips in my main flash file.
I even tried the following: Creating a new movie clip in the new file. Then going into the movie clip of the other file I wish to copy over, and trying to copy its frames and put it into the new movie clip i created in the main file. Even then, it says I'm replacing library items!
I am having problems copying directories of movieclips from one flash file to another. They appear to be fine until I save it, then when they are reloaded they are missing a parent movie clip, and all of the children are blank.

Is it possible to protect the broadcasted content from unauthorized copying users. In the demo version of FMS 3.5 for interactive broadcasting stream audio and video can be copied by means of such programs as Comtasia. This may not like the content holders. Perhaps there are some instruments of protection.

i have a library of videos which when clicked pop up in there full size 550w x 400h there embedded videos with a preloader quite straight faward.[code]the problem isn't that it doesn't work it does, but when you visit the webpage once and revisit or rewatch the video you previosly watched it stays on the first frame of the timeline and doesn't play.

The preloader.fla worked fine up until I attached a file called MyContent.as to the Portfolio.fla file. Now I'm getting an error message when I preview the preloader.fla that says:

I made a preloader for a specific page on my site and it loads it and all but the scroll gallery i have, which is a movie clip, doesn't work at all, but it works fine if i just play the original file thats being loaded with the preloader. I have a preloader but I only see it for a split second when I preview my site. My .fla file is 125MB & the .swf is almost 8MB. I have changed some of the simulation settings but there is no difference in the speed of the preloader. My preloader is on the first scene and my site is on the second scene. I think the code below is correct. I have added a gotoAndPlay(2);, which means the preloader scene should advance to the website scene. Why is my progress bar only visible for 1 nano-second? I actually want to see something happening with the progress bar.

I have followed a tutorial for creating a preloader and it works perfectly - until I try to move the MovieClip to a mask layer. I'd like to use the mask layer to incrementally expose an underlying MovieClip, but when I change the progress bar layer to a mask layer, it fails. The following line produces a #1010 error:

progBar is the MovieClip in question. Preloader is in the root. As long as the layer is not a mask layer, it works - just not like I want it to. How does the code have to change to recognize the object in a mask layer?
i've put simple preloader on frame 1. since then i get an 1009 error message. I debugged the file and it seems like it is referring to 'franklin_button' but this is the button on the stage. i've checked the instance name thousand times and it is correct name.
