ActionScript 2.0 :: Create A Mac Style Menu In A Scrolling Panel?
Jan 31, 2009
how to create a mac Style menu in a scrolling panel? I got this tutorial from
[URL]
and I want to add a Mac Style to it, like this:
[URL]
I still want the menu to scroll and have the rollover effects like a mac computer, but not have the whole menu scale..just the one Im rolling over and the two on the sides of that one...
[URL].. Can anyone lead me in the right direction to create an icon scrolling menu like at the bottom on this webpage. scroll with the right and left arrows and click the images for links.
I'm trying to create a Vertical scrolling xml menu. This menu is based on [URL] "Creating 3D Carousels tutorial"
This is my code Select all var Items:Number; var xml:XML = new XML (); xml.onLoad = function () { _root.createEmptyMovieClip ("mc_Control", this.getNextHighestDepth ()); mc_Control._x = 0; mc_Control._y = 0; [Code] ......
My problem is when I add a new item in the xml file, I can't see it in the .swf file. My xml file have 37 items. I only see 24 buttons! in the .swf file and I' m stuck at this point my buttons have 26 px (_height).
Problem: Users of our web app are complaining how hard it is to get past Flash Player's Security Panel when they want to make video calls. (Personally, I don't see why it's hard.) We tried several things to guide them through the process, including callouts pointing to the Security Panel area with specific instructions and even an auto-play video. But still some don't get it. I think the biggest confusion is the "Close" button. Users think that it will close the app or the entire window.
Solution #1: It's possible that part of the problem is the small size and styling of the Security Panel.Is it possible to apply a style or skin to the Security Panel, so that it's larger and looks more consistent to our web app?
Solution #2: Perhaps there's also a non-technical solution. Has anyone seen a good implementation of a web app that make it easy for non-technical users to make video calls?
just watched Lee Brimelow's how to create a scrolling panel of thumbnails. I have no questions regarding the panel, but, rather, how do I add a link to each image of the scroll; so, when the user clicks one, a popup or new page opens showing not the thumbnail he clicked, but the real size image?
I made a vertical scrolling thumbnail panel but i have a problem i can't identify. From the index.swf i load gallery.swf inside a holder movie clip (which is in index.swf) and in gallery.swf is scrolling thumnail panel. Problem is that scrolling panel works just fine if you publish gallery.swf separately from index.swf, everything works smoothly like it should but if you publish index.swf then scrolling panel loaded inside it scroll's slowly with halts and not the way it should.
I have created a vertical menu that scrolls through menu items in a movie clip.There is a big white gap when the movie clip runs out, and it snaps back to the beginning.I would like it to scroll seamlessly, having the end join up with the beginning again without any space.I would like it to scroll to one end of the list and STOP, and scroll back the other way and STOP - without any white space.URL...
But I have a simple problem I think.I have a moving panel of images, and I want to be able to change the direction of the panel with the click of a button. Here's what I have so far:
var panelSpeed:Number = 1; var leftDirection:int = -1; var rightDirection:int = +1;
I followed a tutorial at [URL]. I used this tutorial because I was interested in a continuously scrolling panel of Thumbnails instead of one that stops when you reach the end. Perhaps people know of another tutorial that accomplishes this and I can just use that one instead? While I can accomplish what he accomplishes, there was (I thought) an easy change. Instead of continuously scrolling I want the thumbnails to only scroll when the mouse is hovering over the thumbnails. You can see the current state of things at: [URL]. And the offending AS is below. I thought I could begin by telling the scrollbar to stop if myVar was equal to false, but I don't even know how to word that.
ActionScript Code: _root.onEnterFrame = function(){ if(_root._ymouse<400 and _root._ymouse>480){ myVar=false; } if(_root._ymouse>400 and _root._ymouse<480){ myVar=true; [Code] .....
I have just done the tutorial for the scrolling thunbnail panel but now I wish to make it continous is this easily done? I saw the xml perpetual scrolling thunbnail post in the forum, is this the same thing?
Ive used the excellent tutorial to create a scrolling thumb panel ([URL]) It works brilliantly and I have movie thumbs linking to a flash player. It all works fine, what change the scrolling. At current it scrolls up and down according to where I have set the 'line', I would like it to scroll up and down near the top and the bottom, rather than all the time (effectively creating a dead zone in the middle). I cant figure out how to change the code to get this to behave as required.
I'm trying to create a scrolling thumbnail panel using an xml file. It works fine when i run it initially. But when I resize the stage the scroll feature gets all screwed up. I've attached my code below.
working on an internal web project and the project sponsor really wants the home page to have an "iphone" style draggable scrolling content.the only place i have seen an example of it is here:URL...but i have no idea how i'd go about making it!Have dabbled in flash over the years, and have a good understanding of AS2, and basic AS3 - with some serious research and practice i could probably make this, but there are major time constraints on the project so it would be great if someone has a similar script to share please!There is budget to pay so it doesn't have to be a free script!
I was wanting to build a personal website that would showcase possibly hundreds of photos of my family and friends. I really like the way Apple iTunes scrolls album covers! Is there anyone that can point me to a add-in component of some type that will accomplish this?
How would you guys go about creating an horizontally scrolling panel of thumbnail images? I want a panel that scrolls for ever in both directions and it also needs to be controlled via two arrow buttons not a mouse over type scroller. I would also like to animate with Tweens in action script to get a nice smooth scroll.I know some as3 but I can't work out how to make the scroller repeatedly scroll in both directions.
Im here writing to you guys about a conflict I am having trying to find the easiest way to program/draw a kareoke style scrolling of words. The only logical way I can think of doing this as a newbie at flash animation is to type out the sentences then motion tween them accordingly so that the words are in sync with the Timeline and the soundfile(that is also synced to the timeline through manipulation of the fps) exactly.
However, I also want to create a slight illusion of perspective from the back to the front as it scrolls from RIGHT to LEFT. The only way I can think of to do this is to scale and rotate it accordingly in the motion tween.
Another problem I was thinking of was that all the sentences would have to be piled up on the right side of the stage waiting to be motion tweened across the stage and then piled up on the other side.
I've recently followed a tutorial to make a scrolling thumbnail panel that goes up when you down and down when you go up. est. This has worked perfectly will the script below...However Im looking to make an alteration to this so that when you are not on "stoke" the "panel" stops moving. Its currently set to not move until you role over on to it originally, however after that when you are not on the panel it continues to move when you stroll across the rest of the page miles away from the panel.
I've got some code which is generating a menu from an admin panel.Therefore the text is not an object on the stage, but code in the actionscript.I am looking for a way to apply an effect for rollover states to all generated text. it could be something as simple as the text vibrating. or the text blurring.
Ok so i was following this tutorial today at: [URL]..and its a good tutorial... with one exception. They never tell you where you can put the code for clicking on the buttons to make them functional.so now i have some good looking buttons that dont go anywhere. Any one want to take a look at this and see if you can tell me where i can put in my "click" event code.
have a site which uses the Apple Style dock component from jrgraphix.net.The issue appears to be with Internet Explorer (All versions).In Firefox the movie works without issue (ignore the transparency and positioning).As you browse between pages the SWF reloads and functions as it should.In Internet Explorer the first time you load the page and the SWF it works as it should.HOWEVER (!!!) when you browse to another page or refresh the current page the SWF functionalilty drops out and some (if not all) of the actionscript appears not to trigger.The .as file used is:
Code: class Dock extends MovieClip { var icon_min: Number;
I'm comfortable with Flash and actionscript, but relatively new to Flex. I would like to convert a mac style menu from Flash to Flex [URL] but I'm running into problem translating or a better word is figuring out a comparable component set.
