ActionScript 2.0 :: Draw Shapes With Mouse Inside A Scrollpane
Jun 25, 2008
I'm trying to create a draw program in AS2 where I can draw shapes with my mouse inside a Scrollpane. Furthermore, I need to be able to drag and drop these objects within the Scrollpane. Currently, I'm doing the following:
1) I created an empty movie clip called main and I'm attaching it inside the Scrollpane called scroll
2) I draw the objects inside another empty movie clip called p0, p1, p2, etc. which I'm attaching inside main. When I drag the objects around, they can be dragged outside the boundaries of the Scrollpane. How can I prevent that from happening?
I need t draw a rectangle on a movie clip(board_mc) by dragging mouse over it......It works fine till here but I want to put the movie clip(board_mc) in scrollpane. but after doing so the code doesnot work....can u plz guide me how to make this code work after placing the movie clip (board_mc) in scrollpane(say board_scp).
I have a MovieClip inside a ScrollPane. Inside this MovieClip i have buttons. What i want to know is: how to click a button inside a Movie Clip, that is inside a scrollpane, and make it load a swf outside the scrollpane?
Why is it that when I draw with the pencil tool, my lines get auto-reshaped? This is nice but it's not nice when I try to draw a stickfigure and it turns out completely wrong. Sometimes when I draw a circle with the pencil tool it becomes a square. But then again I don't use a drawing pad. I use a mouse.
Somebody told me: "Because Flash is really a vector drawing tool, not a bitmap drawing tool. It is *interpreting* your marks as pieces of a curve. That said I think there may be a setting to remove this smooth - in effect using more line parts for you drawing."
Is is possible to draw something like [URL] using AS3? If yes, is it possible to do it without masks? I'm trying to create a circle from a vertical line, like analog clock 12 oclock, and then clockwise, in fluid motion, that line goes around 360 and makes a circle in an amount of sec, let's say in 6 sec.
Im designing an 'L-System' (Lindenmayer System) in flash which generates random shapes using lines working around rewrite rules. I've got so far and my program seems to be outputting the correct rewrite rules but I just can't seem to get it to draw according. I'll post my code below
What would be your recommendation for drawing shapes (rects, circles...) onto BitmapData, and how to effectively switch between colors.Draw shapes on BitmapData / getting its graphics context
Is there any way to get graphics context from BitmapData so I could easily paint shapes using graphics.draw...()?
I am copying a bunch of shapes from my stage to a set of bitmaps for filtering.
Is there a faster way to do this? Is there a way to copy everything over together from the stage rather than how I'm doing it by copying the shapes in my array one by one?[code]...
I'd like to learn how to create classes. For instance, I'd like to create a class that draws a custom shape. Like an arrow that is just a rectangle with a triangle on the end. I'd like to be able to do this sort of thing:
Basically I discovered its no problem at all to draw lines or shapes or whatever directly onto an mx:Text object using its graphics property (Text.graphics.lineTo, etc.). If just displaying that text, then any such drawn lines are displayed as well. However, if that Text object is used as a mask, then any drawn lines on that text object are merely ignored when the mask is rendered. And its hard for me to see the reason behind this, if anyone else is able to. I mean you're designating the Text object itself as the mask. It seems like any visual change to that text object should be part of the mask.
I can't post images yet: [URL]. Using Actionscript 3 I'm drawing multiple Shapes onto a MovieClip [top drawing]. The end result I need is the bottom drawing. I originally thought it would be simple to just merge the shapes and then find a way to draw a border around the end result but I can't seem to find any way of doing this. Is this possible or is there a better way of trying to do this?
I want to draw lines to make a region so that anything inside that region is deleted. The Case : You could say that there are many movieclips in stage but when I just selected by drawing circle or something even complex shape to it purposely then anything inside that shape is just gone.
I am trying to work with this flash tutorial -[URL] So far it draws with a simple rounded line. I have been extending this application by making the drawing board bigger and other small things. I now want to be able to choose the line style. Currently it is rounded and I want to choose and draw with other shapes - square, forward slash (/), backward slash (). Is this possible? If so, could you explain how I could go about it?
I've googled for hours and found nothing. I did find a lot but none involved hittesting with a mouse cursor. I'm trying to make a simple maze game, so far it works, I die when I hit squares and rectangles, but I die incorrectly when hitting a rotating rectangle.Because it rotates, the bounding box is larger and a normal hittest sees bounding boxes, meaning it won't work.Make it so that my mouse can go near the rotating rectangle without dying until I actually touch the actual rectangle instead of the bounding box.
I'm attempting to control 2 different shapes (a red rectangle and a blue rectangle) with the same sequence of mouse events (down, move, up), but only one shape at a time must move. The shapes are locked horizontally along the x-axis. The red rectangle, which starts out on the left side of the stage, has a right-registration while the the blue rectangle on the right side of the stage has a left-registration.
The rectangle that moves during the MOUSE_MOVE events is the shape that is closest to the *MOUSE_MOVE* event's stageX property. The closest rectangle is determined by averaging the x property of each rectangle (averageX)in relation to the MOUSE_MOVE stageX property. Therefore, if stageX is less than averageX, the shape on the left should move. Greater than averageX, the shape on the right.
The problem occurs when control changes rectangles during subsequent MOUSE_MOVE events, before MOUSE_UP. Variables that are set during MOUSE_DOWN are appropriate for the rectangle that is moved first, but things become dicey when the other rectangle is to be moved instead. Basically, the rectangle whose x property is closest to MOUSE_MOVE event's stageX property should move along either left or right with the mouse event, one at a time.
For simplicity with the following code example, a MOUSE_DOWN event could always occur somewhere between the two rectangles. package{ import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.display.Shape; import flash.events.MouseEvent; [Code] .....
I have a MovieClip that contains a GIF bitmap that is a non-rectangular object (e.g. a star). All the pixels outside of the star are Transparent. Is there a way I can somehow programmatically limit Mouse events to fire only when the mouse cursor is within the star region (but not in the rest of the transparent rectangular area)?
I've just used the accordion component in flash to successfully load some external data into it.For the purpose I want to use it, the accordion is a good option. However, as you keep adding more and more elements into it (and, presumably, there will eventually be lots of them in this project), the headers start to take up more and more space, up to the point that you can't see the content. So yes, I made it so that the accordion adjusts its size depending on the number of elements it needs to display each time. And that works fine.BUT... then, there's a point where the accordion is just too big for the stage... so it doesn't fit, and you can't see part of it.I thought it would be possible to insert the accordion inside a ScrollPane, but I can't make it work.
The first step would be to put the accordion component inside a new MC. But when I do that and test the movie, I get a very weird behaviour of the component. It loads the content, but at first only half of the component shows up. Then when you click some items, they don't display properly and do weird things.Still, I went forward and tried to put that MC inside a scrollPane (gave the MC a linkage name, etc.), but still the scrollPane seems to display a "blank" accordion inside it, not the one with the content. Is it possible at all to get a working accordion inside a ScrollPane? If not, can you think of any other way to make the accordion component "scrollable" so that it can have whatever size is needed, and still be usable?
I have the following code for my buttons (not in a scrollpane), but when I try to add additional (addEventListener) strings to correspond with buttons in a scrollpane I get these error messages (1120: Access of undefined property smith. 1120: Access of undefined property thomas.). I've tried using the script in an actions layer within the MC inside the scrollpane to no avail
I have my scrollpane on the stage, I have created the mc and exported it and linked it to the scrollpane, I have created a button on layer 1 inside the mc linked to the scrollpane and I have created a 2nd layer for as3. Below is the AS3 that I have used. When I export the mc to view the scrollpane everything works apart from the buttons itself. I can see everything but the buttons wont link to the webpage.
AS3
import flash.net.URLRequest; btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goDesignSite); function goDesignSite(Event:MouseEvent):void

I'm using a scrollpane for a loaded external swf file. Scroll works fine but I want to add exra buttons to control the file such as size and position. If this is regular movie you can simply add the instance name and call it but in this cane since it's inside of component I don't know how I can reach it... The component is named "mySp" and the loaded swfg file is called "photography.swf" which I set it up in parameters tab under "contentpath"
In Flex, I am trying to design 3 buttons similar to the image uploaded at [URL]
The mouse over/click on image should work only on red colored area of the button. How can I manage the Mouse clicks or Irregular Button shapes in Flex?
So i have a scrollpane with a movieclip in it. Inside the movieclip i put static text that says "Email Eric" and linked it with mailto:sales@signsetconline.com but when i test the movie it won't work. So basically i need to know how to link an email to something inside a scrollpane.
Is it possible to create anchor links in text within a scrollpane. I created text with a list of questions at the top of the list and answers at the bottom of the list. I want to be able to click on a question and jump down the list to the answer within the scrollpane. Similar to anchor links in html.
