ActionScript 2.0 :: Empty Movieclip (content) That Loads An External Swf?

I'm trying to make an empty movieclip (content) that loads an external swf move above some other movieclips after is is fully loaded, and another movieclip (stage_mc) hits frame 25. It needs to load behind and the stage_mc, then move above it when stage_mc hits frame25. I tried this code on the main timeline, and the main timeline is one frame.

and it's not working. I've also tried it without the this.onEnterFrame, and another variation on the content mc.None of these things are working.

frame 38 has the empty movieclip hidden by another movieclip saying loading. frame 39 is where the loading movieclip disapeers. but its not working.

what i have got is an external XML file that loads the news data into flash where it is there parsed and assigned to a dynamic text box and styled with a style sheet. Through trace() if found the xml gets loaded properly but when i upload it to a webserver it does not always load. Many times the variable just reads out undefined. If i refresh it a few times it will eventually load. This is not acceptable of course. It needs to try until it loads. I thought i had the code to make this happen but Im afraid im mistaken.here is the code, its inside the first frame of a simple swf with only the dynamic text box.

I have a main.swf file. In first frame i load a background slideshow with this code:

My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?

I wanna create some sort of actionscripted typewriter which loads its content from an external file, but i can't seem to get the code to work properly!
This is what i got till now:
2 layers:
- one with a textfield called 'textbox'
- one with the actions
A textfile which contains: waarde=Wannaloadtextfromanexternaltextfile!
4 frames, in the first frame i load the textfile this way:
[AS]q = 1;
loadText = new loadVars();
loadText.load("data.txt",this);
loadText.onLoad = function(success) {

The problem is that when i assign the value of "text" in the first frame this way : <-- text = "Wannaloadtextfromanexternaltextfile!"; --> (witout the comment tags ofcourse) the typewriter works fine but when i load the var from the textfile nothing happens, the trace works fine and displays the contents of the var but the typewriter displays nothing.
the weird this is that when i add this after all the code in frame 1 it works fine: text = "azerty";
But when i add this it doesn't: text = "a";
So when i overwrite the var with the azerty value suddenly it contains the correct value in the next frame, when i assign only one character to it the script doesn't work anymore.

I am loading an external swf into an empty movie clip by use of a button.The movieclip is a sort of menu that begins with an animation of the menu opening, there are multiple different movieclips I am using with this format.What I am trying to accomplish is this.When another button is pressed, I want the movieclip (regardless of which one is loaded) to either:Go to a specific frame and play a closing animation within the movieclip, BEFORE a new movieclip is loaded. OR reverse the animation BEFORE loading new movieclip.Since there are 4 or 5 buttons all loading different clips, I need all the buttons to work this way regardless of which movieclip is loaded.

In AS2 I would normally create an empty MovieClip, give it an instance name and then in the actions I would make the linkage with emptyMC_mc.loadMovieClip("intro.flv");
In AS3 I'm breaking out to figure this out..., I'm making a game and I want the first frame to load an external FLV, then when the FLV is over, go to frame 2 and load another external FLV and then when this second FLV is over, go to frame number 3..

I went through Claudio's preloader transition tutorial on kirupa ([URL]). I have tried to apply it to my own fla and everything seems to work fine EXCEPT I can't get any of the external swfs to load into the empty movie clip called "content". And yes, I have checked and rechecked to make sure that all MCs have instance names!

how to load external SWFs into an empty movieclip, and then having them unload when another is selected. At the moment, all I can do is load the swf onto the stage with no positioning, and clicking the other button just loads the next swf on top.

[URL] Above is a link to view the project I'm working on. Once the site loads if you go to the "Contact Us" page the content doesn't load correctly. I'm using an extrnal .xml and .css files for the content. I'm also embedding the fonts dynamicly. If I test the file locally on my computer is works fine the image loads as it's supposed to and content looks correct. However when I post the files to the server (which work exactly the same way) I get the white box when you can see from the link above. I'm at a complete loss as to how to to fix this.

I have used flash for a while, but I've never been able to fully grasp the preloader, and how to write code for it. I understand the function of it obviously, but whether to put it on the movie clip or separate actions layer confuses me. I am trying to create a preloader with a movie clip that loads an external image.

I'm building a portfolio section of our website where we have several sections for example: TVC, DigiFX, Audio, etc.I have one xml file controlling that part which works a treat. The script reads the xml and places (depending on how many nodes are in the xml) x number of tv screens in a carousel style layout where the user can select a category. Now this is where things go pearshaped... When a user selects a 'TV' a variable is set to tell which category was selected and loads the appropate xml for that section.
I have a few traces which gives me this output:
SelectedTV = _level0.TV0
Current XML playlist= portfolio/TVC_playlist.xml
videos Array =
videos Array 0 = undefined
flvTitle 0 = undefined

...and I have 7 <video url="" flvtitle="" desc="" client=""/>
P.S. This was done with CS3 but using AS2, since i first started the project with F8 and don't have the time at the moment to convert it to AS3.

if you open up the TEST.swf you can see how I want my transition to look like.. everything works perfectly.. then if you open the Load.swf and click one of those red buttons.. it loads up the external swf.. but if you click another button it loads up the same external thing.the difference between Load.swf and TEST.swf is that in Load.swf is container in which the TEST.swf is loaded..

the best way to do it but i have a preloader the loads an external swf that loads 2 external swf files. one on layer o and the other 1.it seems to load the swf on layer 1 twice.url...if i run the swf that loads the 2 external swf files by it's self and the same problem happens.mouse over the navagation button and then mouse over the close button and follow the animation down to were it turns back into the navagation button. sometimes the close stays up.if i run the swf file that just contains the navagation it dosen't happen.

I am so happy that ive found this site to know everything about flash/xml/php. It really helps me a lot. I was so happy ive finally found a very simple MovieClip Scrollbar. Anyway, what I want to add to this script is how to add an external image to the content which is under the movieclip "contentMain".I was thinking to add this script that I also learn from this site but I dont know how to pass the variable to the content of the scrollbar. I am using a content loader through AS3 to load some images and then later pushed into an array. I have pushed my image file paths in to an array (arrayImages). But when the loader loads the images it doesn't load the images based on the order they are listed in the arrayImages, instead they were loaded based on their file sizes. Is there anyway that these can be loaded in the order they were pushed to the array? Below is the code that i use to load the images.

i have a small requirement. like i am currently working on a games website in which whenever i open the game a flash preloader needs to open first and hide the game file while the flash preloader loads. once the flash preloader completes its loading then immediately the game content need to display. i heard it can be done using javascript,ajax.

This swf file (attached) will load the xml content (rss) when I Publish Preview it in Flash CS3 (AS2), but not in the browser. This is an aggravating problem and think that it may be flash stopping it from accessing the content but frankly I have no clue.
