ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash Background Will Not Work In IE?
Dec 13, 2008
I am using this code for fullscreen flash with horizontally centered content. The code I am using is working pretty well in Firefox (every once in a blue moon the background jpg won't load in firefox3) but my biggest issue is it pretty much never loads in IE. Does anyone see any problems with how I am handling this that it would be having issues in IE? Please let me know as this is pretty much driving me crazy
Anyway for some reason when i test scene the box comes up showing my flash fine but when i go and locate the .SWF in the folder that all my flash fla and swfs are then for some reason its only a graphic clip and movieclip animation that displays and the rest of the background is the background colour. I checked this by first changing it to black and preview. To which the background changed black and then did the same and changed the background colour to blue and the same thing happened, the background in the swf changed to blue aswell. I have no actionscript in the scene and the majority of the things are just art besides a graphic clip the movie clip animation.
I have a background image that I inserted into flash movie. How to make the background works as fluid page? As I reduce the size of the window, there are white borders on top and bottom. Attached is the FLA.
I have this problem with loading new movie on the same page with fixed background.Here is an example of what i want to do . I have two flash files main.swf and movie1.swf, and main.swf loads first when i open index page. On the button of this main.swf i have action PHP Code:
loadMovieNum("movie1.swf", 0);
which should load new movie in the same window and everything works fine when i test SWF file but when i embed it in a HTM page with fixed background only first move main.swf loads fine as it should but when i click on the button in this main.swf to load new movie movie1.swf in the same page it will not load??? It starts to load and than just stops. I guess there could be something wrong with my CSS style but i have never been working with CSS as i am only beginner in web design. Could anyone help here please? Here is y CSS style.
PHP Code:
body {margin:0px; padding:0px; vertical-align:top; background:url(images/back.jpg) no-repeat top #2BA3F4;}
I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.
I have a custom component that extends mx:TextArea,but when I try and apply backgroundAlpha= "0" it says The style 'backgroundAlpha' is only supported by type 'components.LabelEditor' with the theme(s) 'halo'.I don't see anywhere specifying that it is not using the Halo theme, unless it has decided to extend s:TextArea despite my not importing it.How can I make this component accept the style instructions or achieve a transparent background some other way?
I want to embed some video into my HTML page. As background I want to use big picture. And above it I want to insert loop video with (i.e.) walking man.So, can I embed video (without flash and any player controls) in page?Can I decode video with transparent background? Is there any codecs which support transparent background (alpha-channel)?
As the title already states i have a (big) problem importing a PNG in a Flex 4 application.Created a PNG file in Photoshop with transparent background. Loaded in Flex application using this code:[code]So when the complete event fires the data has been loaded and it is possible to assign the data loaded to the image component named Thumbnail:[code]Unitls now everything works as expected!But when i try to send the Thumbnail component's data to a WCF service i receive a photo with white background:[code]
trying to print a movieclip with a white backgroundwhile keeping the stage background black.The movieclip,printResults_mc has a white rectangle in the bottom layer, 850pixels x 1100 pixels. The following function scales printResults_mcto the printers printable area but because isimpossible to predict the aspect ratio of the printable area someblack background always leaks out. I tried making the whitebackground 20 pixels larger than I need (870 x 1120) and thensetting a crop rectangle in addPage of (10,10,850,1100), no luck,the black stage background just fills in the area outside the crop.A simple solution would be to temporarily set the stage backgroundcolor property to white, print, then set it back to black, but I
When I click on the next button that loads a another swf the background from the previous swf flicks on the screen.click on the attached link URL..[code]I would like the "current_ plan.swf" to load so that the over lays (no so much on the views but more in the LIVING MASTER.We are creating this for both touchscreen and web(the link is the working touchscreen version hence the files being large).[code]
I have converted a large background image (much larger than the stage) into a Movie Clip. I did this so I can make it scroll as the player traverses to the edge of the scene.This appears to make the player free to roam the entire background image.I have a tree symbol with a class attached to it that blocks player movement.Here is my problem:
When I drag and drop instances of the tree symbol onto the background, the trees are stationary and do not scroll with the background.I do not want to have to implement code to make the trees scroll when the background does.I was wondering if there was a way to simply attach the trees to the background so that if the background moves, the trees move with it and appear to be part of the background as if they were drawn into it.It is convenient for me to be able to drag and drop as many trees as i need to block certain routes on the background from the player.I tried writing code to make the trees move but it was only working for the very last tree that I added to the scene.
I really don't know much about flash or swf files but in updating my portfolio I came across Polaroid gallery. I have managed to update the background jpeg with my own picture and remove the fade effect. However in the original program the background was tileable so when seen in a full screen browser looked fine. As my picture is not tileable I would like to know if it is possible to scale the background or the whole swf object without tiling the background.
I am relatively new to Flash CS3 and i have been learning Action-script 3 over the past week. I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.
create an effect that loads a fullscreen background image that changes according to the navigation selection. The background will be replaced everytime the navigation is activated
I have a series of background MCs, all different coloured gradients (pretty!), and a series of corresponding buttons elsewhere on the stage. On a press of each button I would like the corresponding background MC to come to the top of the pile of backgrounds, then fade in above the previous background. The background that was previously on top, needs to stay next-to-top.If the corresponding background is already at the top of the pile, then nothing needs to happen.
At the moment I am using swapDepths(1) which brings the target to the top no problem, but it may also send the previous top layer MC way down the pile.This is what I'm doing at the moment:
on (release) { if (_root.BG.colour2.getDepth()<=0) { _root.BG.colour2._alpha = 0;[code].....
I have created a Flash application running in a browser (Firefox 3 on Windows XP). When I move this application from foreground to background and (after some time) viceversa, I notice a considerable slowdown, i.e. for about thirty seconds the application becomes unusable.
My swf is very small (~200 KB), but this swf creates *many* buttons and *many* other graphical widget (with statical images), so the RAM occupied is considerable (~150 MB).
I initially assumed that was caused by the swap mechanism of the operating system or of the browser. This was *not* true, and it was confirmed by the fact that, by default, Mozilla Firefox prevent Windows from swapping out memory when the program is minimized (see config.trim_on_minimize option). Nothing has changed even disabling the paging system of Windows.[code]...
I am attempting to change the background of a pre-developed slide show a client sent over. In the attachment the original background is gray (called "back"). I want to change it to the background called "bluebg". It works (somewhat) when I import it to the same layer that the gray background is on and convert it to a movie clip, but it covers up the navigational buttons on the top right side of the movie. It appears that these pieces are a part of the background and not on their own layer, but they are clearly flash elements required to make the show work properly, so I am unable to replace the background with the blue and keep those navigational items. Can someone take a look and tell me what I could be doing wrong? Or better yet what I can do to achieve the feat of apply the new blue background?
how i could create a background like this site has [URL]
You see there is a little texture in it, and the texture matches every screen size. The gradient effect is no problem but how can i make the texture also match every screensize?
i am creating a website for a personal trainer and i am having problems with the white background behind the flash website. how do i change the background colour/image?
Is it possible to make flash file with transparent background. I want to make animated buttons on transparent background, so you can see background image in wordpress under the buttons.
I've been trying to make a flash website with a video background; I've been trying to use the FLVPlayer with no controls, but theres no loop option nor resize...all of my work is on Flash CS3
I imported a logo into Flash 8, and it has a white box around it. How can I remove the white space in Flash, or if I have to do it in another Adobe product, how do I do I export it so that it will import into Flash without the box.
I have been trying for weeks on this project but I know it can be done. I shot a subject in front of a green screen and he wants a Flash movie of just him (the subject) and no background. I told him it could be done. I shot a 1 mintue video using the old DV rack to make the green screen fairly good. I imported the avi clip to Premiere Pro 2 and used the chromakey ( Color key on some tries) to remove the green screen whereas the background was black. I saved it and exported it as a quicktime movie, animation compressor codec, millions of colors square pix. Then I used Flash CS3 and imported the video to the library by On2 VP6 codec with the alpha channel selected. I created two layers, layer 1 a jpeg image. I highlighted layer 2, dragged the FLV playback to the stage and made sure layer 2 was about layer 1. I saved and tested it but the background is still there. I have tried several ways; saved a flash file from Premiere Pro2 and imported it with CS3 Flash encoder following the same steps. I even loaded and older version of PPro 1.0 and followed a tutorial exactly. The FLV plays well but I can't see the image from layer 1 because the background is black and not transparent. All I want is a transparent background where the subject is there without a background. I have Ultra 2, Visual Communicator, I can make a background of anything but I can't seem to make a background transparent!
I've inherited a website with a huge (2.5MB) flash menu system and would like to know if there is an elegant way to load it in the background from maybe an intro page that redirects to the home page after a certain amount of time - or possible when the menu is done loading.
I am a beginner at AS3 programming. I like to make a flash with background sound (*.mp3 files from *.xml list). Everything works fine, but when I press "onClick" button I got output error.[code]
I am trying to put a flash background on my website that will loop over and over.I created the file in after effects but understand that it is best to export to flash to keep file size down.I have tried exporting from after affects using F4L, FLV, and XFL and always seem to get a file size of 2-4 MB.My video is only 8 seconds long and I exported at half resolution so I am unsure why it is so largeWhen I import F4L and FLV to flash and then export as an SWF file, the file does not work on my website(nothing shows). It seems to only work when I import as an XFL and then export as an SWF.Also, how do I get the video to loop? Do I do this in flash or in the object tags in my website
I wonder how you can put a fullsize background image to a website using Flash, similar to how www.zugspitze.de does.I can copy the HTML code but what does the flash document looks like?
