Flash :: Embed Audio In Frame 2?
Oct 10, 2011In the Library the mp3 has checkmark in "Export for ActionScript", and has "Class" set to "Song". There is no checkmark in "Export in frame 1", yet despite this, it seems that the mp3 is exported to frame 1. I have generated a size report and seen that the mp3 data ends up in frame 1. If I remove the mp3 from the project again, then I can see that the size of frame 1 drops from about 1.7 Mb down to 20 Kb.[code]...

May 17, 2010I am editing a custom calendar application in flash. The purpose of this app is to let you select your own images, and create a calendar out of it. You can basically, drag and drop images of your choice and they apply frame/borders, or drag and drop embellishments.
Here is the piece of code that draws a border/frame on the embellishment/image of your choice.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Embed A Dynamic Swf Background?
Mar 17, 2009I have a main FLA which is a flip book (the one like you click or drag the corner and will flip the page to the next one). And I have a swf background (a dynamic swf with floating bubbles which will move following your cursors).
I tried to embed the swf background in a container and then put it to my main Flash file (the flip book). It works fine but once I click the Full Screen button, the main contain (i.e. the flip book) is still aligned to the Top Left corner.
I tried many times by changing the codes such as removing the line "stage.align = "TL"" but it still doesn't work.I am trying to complete 4 tasks:
1) To align the main content (flip book) to the center of the screen no matter in "Normal" or "Full Screen" modes
2) To add the swf dynamic background to the back but still the flipbook will be aligned in the center without any changes (no matter "Normal" or "Full Screen" modes)
3) Add a button to toggle Full Screen mode but the flip book will be kept in the absolute center of the screen
4) Right click the flash and will show a pop-up menu. If I click "designed by:", the whole screen will turn black (both "Normal" and "Full Screen" modes)

Mar 10, 2008I used the liquid Flash layout file from this site , but i got one problem.I placed the script in a layer called actionscript and on frame 1, under it there is a other layer called background. I placed in just a square with a gradient color and made it a movieclip. I also placed this on frame 1. Everything is working perfect from this point but when i want to place a keyframe on frame 10 in the background layer and make a motion tween so that the background fades in from 0 opacity to 100, it doesn't work.

Feb 9, 2011I've been experimenting with learning game coding and have encountered an issue I'm curious about...
At the moment I have 3 GIFs and 1 sound effect being used, with more to come. Now, is it more recommended to embed these files, which I'm been doing, or is it better to load them externally? To be honest, I really hate the idea of having to load them and would much prefer to embed them directly in to my project. What is the general consensus as to which technique is better?
ActionScript 3.0 :: Resume Background Music Playback Out Of Frame
Mar 6, 2011So I have a Flash CS5 presentation which uses ActionScript 3.0, and currently is completely finished except for the addition of background music.
One of the pages has audio files which the user can select and listen to, and another page has video files for the user to select and watch.
As a result, I will need the background music to pause/stop itself before it reaches those frames in the movie, and start itself when leaving those frames.
Alternatively, a button for the user to click and the background music will pause or resume.
I have tried multiple methods, and currently have the background music playing from frame 1 (with the "pause/resume button" event listener) to the end. The pause button will work anywhere in the movie, but the background music will not resume at all - not even from the beginning.
I assume that this is because the song isnt loaded past frame 1?
CS3 - Make Background Flash Background Transparent In Dreamweaver?
Apr 10, 2009I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.
Css :: Flex 3 Embed Throws "Invalid Embed Directive In Stylesheet' Error On Linux
Mar 9, 2010We have a flex application which compiles fine on windows box using mxmlc ant task but when we try to run the same build scripts on linux, it throws the 'Invalid Embed directive in stylesheet' error indicating it is not able to resolve the path to the image files.
Can someone pls. educate me on if there is a difference in the way the image files are looked up, in a CSS file, on windows vs linux.
Flex sdk version is 3.3. The same sdk is used on both windows and linux. Not sure if this has been fixed by any future 3.x sdks.

Feb 10, 2012Making a piano/keyboard application and trying to figure out the best way to set this up .I plan on having a directory of sounds for each 'instrument' in my assets folder (piano1/C4.mp3,piano1/D4.mpg,...)Is there a way to import/embed all of these as an array? Also is there a way I can pass a variable to this class to indicate which folder I want to import these from? Something that would be ideal

Nov 19, 2010I have converted a large background image (much larger than the stage) into a Movie Clip. I did this so I can make it scroll as the player traverses to the edge of the scene.This appears to make the player free to roam the entire background image.I have a tree symbol with a class attached to it that blocks player movement.Here is my problem:
When I drag and drop instances of the tree symbol onto the background, the trees are stationary and do not scroll with the background.I do not want to have to implement code to make the trees scroll when the background does.I was wondering if there was a way to simply attach the trees to the background so that if the background moves, the trees move with it and appear to be part of the background as if they were drawn into it.It is convenient for me to be able to drag and drop as many trees as i need to block certain routes on the background from the player.I tried writing code to make the trees move but it was only working for the very last tree that I added to the scene.

Apr 8, 2009Is there any solution to dynamic fonts yet. I have tried to write classes and followed so much stuff on various blogs but none of them is working. For example, i'm using a font(which is not installed in most machines) say "abc" on my Input and other TextFields/Combos/Radio etc. Now no matter whatever i do, it uses some default font instead of "abc" if accessed from a PC in which this font isn't installed.
One (bad)solution is to embed fonts using the Embed button in "Properties" FOR EACH TEXT FIELd seperately and increase the file size? Still this way wouldn't work for Combos and radio Btns.
Copy A Single Keyframe Without An Armature In Flash CS5 OR Convert To Frame-by-frame?
Nov 3, 2010I am trying to get just a single pose from an armature layer without copying the whole layer. I just want the exact arrangement of symbols from a specific frame of the armature layer alone; in one keyframe; without the armature; into a normal layer. I tried a few things, like breaking apart and copying the individual keyframe (ctrl+click on the frame I want and "copy pose"). I thought about converting an armature layer into a frame-by-frame animation so I can just copy the one frame like I want, but it's apparently not an option. When I tried the break apart option it just breaks down the first frame of the armature layer into one big vector graphic. I've even tried highlighting every frame except the one I want to use and pressing Shift+F5. Nothing I've tried so far works.
This is annoying because if I don't find a solution, I will have to take each separate symbol used in this frame of the armature layer and individually align them all in the exact same position in the normal layer

May 15, 2009I really don't know much about flash or swf files but in updating my portfolio I came across Polaroid gallery. I have managed to update the background jpeg with my own picture and remove the fade effect. However in the original program the background was tileable so when seen in a full screen browser looked fine. As my picture is not tileable I would like to know if it is possible to scale the background or the whole swf object without tiling the background.

I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.
