View 1 RepliesI just joined this Adobe Forums, and I am new to action script 3.0, I am working on a couple of lessons and I would like to be able to shorten the number of frames they take up on the timeline by setting the time the transition takes in seconds in my action script, and limiting each to a single frame so that my timeline can be organized and easy to work with.SO I set the seconds to 10 seconds, and kept each on a single key frame BUT THE PROBLEM is that the transition only plays as a single frame and cuts off and then moves to the next frame and so on

I'm trying to build a play back progress bar for an audio recorded from the users microphone. It works okay but when I play back I can't figure out how long the audio is so I can calculate percent played for animating a progress bar. Most of these snippets can be found in LiveDocs and online examples from bytearray.org. Audio is stored in the bytearray and the sound is played back in a sound channel.

i have a slideshow with a delay of for example 3 seconds, and a preloader which is a line with a 100px final length.i start preloading next image.now if the time until next image loads is longer than slideshow delay, i will show next image as soon as it loads.if the time until next image loads is shorter that than slideshow delay, i want to wait additional time until delay and then show the image.the problem is how do i represent smooth line width grow (being enter frame or tween) by calculating/comparing 2 values together (delay and loader percent, which goes from 0 - 100) ?if my line growth represent just a slideshow delay, then when it gets to an end, if next image still hasnt loaded, then it wont look good if line has come to an end, but i still have to wait.
View 4 RepliesI am having some problems with buffering sounds. I am doing a MP3 player for my site and everything seems ok except that I can't get the full length of a sound before it finishes downloading/buffering and it's messing my progressBar. That's my code:
position = (soundChannel.position / sound.length);
Sound.length returns the total length of the downloaded data at the moment and not the full length of my Mp3 file.
Let's say I have 1 minute long Mp3 file and I only downloaded 30secs of it, if my playback reaches 15secs of the sound, it will say that I am at 50% of the song and not 25%. Is there anyway to know the full length of a file before it finishes downloading? So I can make a buffer download progress bar (like youTube does, so you know how much u have downloaded) and a songProgressBar. I've read some things about the NetStream class but I don't know if it will solve my problem. I don't have Flash media server.. it would load the file form the local file system.
I want to limit server recorded netstream length to 10 secs at client side using as3. How can I do that?
View 2 RepliesWhen working inside the Flash application every time you right click an item the context menu appears, and when you are near the bottom of you screen and there no enough space for the contextual menu to fully deploy an arrow appears at the very end of the menu to indicate you it continues (in stead of simply deploy upwards).
Now here is the problem: i'm used to the After effects interface and so i like to have the timeline sitting down at the very bottom of the interface, but then when I right click the frames to simply copy or paste keyframes (or whatever) i must navigate through a shortened-with-an-arrow context menu which it slowers my workflow a lot. It would there any chance to always have a "full length" context menu every time I right click on a frame?
Let's say I have array foo and a positive integer y, where foo.length > y.I want to remove elements from foo so that foo.length becomes y (or very close to it).Also, I need to preserve the first and last element of foo. The indices of the removed elements must be spaced apart as equally as possible. Foo can be sliced, or it can be used to create a new array.
Example: if foo = [a,b,c,d,e,f,g,1,2,3,4,5] and y = 6, then trimmedfoo could be [a,c,e,g,2,4,5] or maybe [a,c,e,2,4,5], but not [a,c,e,g,2,4] because the last element of foo is missing.
how to do this
function foo(x:*, ...args):* {
}
function bar(x:*, ...args):* {[code].....
how to expand args ? when I call bar(1,2,3), I wish it call foo(1,2,3), but it call foo(1,[2,3])
Is there any way to determine if a (anonymous) function has defined the ...(rest) parameter in ActionScript 3? I know there's the function.length property, but it only counts the explicitly defined arguments.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to get the length of arrays within an array, here is my example (MX 2004):
[Code]...
I get an output of of 3. the number of variables within the first array, this is not what I had expedted.
I'm getting a data which contains a certain number.
I need to find how many hours, minutes and seconds it stands for.
for example:
I'm getting the number 248 which means:
00 hours : 04 minutes : 08 seconds
do anyone know how to script the dynamic text length to the amount of text in the text file instead of manually drag it to the length?
Code:
myLoadVars_lv = new LoadVars();
myLoadVars_lv.onLoad = function(success) {

When i use time varaible and then minus the time. Ive noticed that flash does not count down in seconds, but the speed of light. My maths are not very strong so how can i get flash to count in seconds
var time =60;
sprite.onEnterframe = function(){
time -=1; ( this counts faster than seconds)
}
I'm trying to figure out how I can make the sound file that I load into Flash start at x seconds and end at x+30 seconds.So basically, I just want a 30 second sample to play starting at a specific time position. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this or have links to somewhere I can read up on it?
View 4 RepliesI'm working with the youtube API and I'm getting the current time on the video as seconds.What I want to do is to convert them into this: MM:SS.I've tried to google and try different things by myself but nothing seemed to work and be efficient.
View 4 RepliesI am currently using the following code to display the secconds of a FLV being played:
ActionScript Code:time_txt.text = Math.round(_root.video_mc.videoZ.playheadTime*100)/100;I need to change this to display MM:SS (minutes:seconds) rather than just seconds and decimals.The javascript people here at work suggested something like this:
ActionScript Code:
function strPad(str, places, pad, side) {
while (length(str) < places) {
[code].....
I am trying to use the class Sound of actionscript.My code is really basic :
var snd:Sound = new Sound();
snd.load(new URLRequest("mysound.mp3"));
trace( new String(snd.length));
snd.play();
The audio is playing very well but in my trace, I get 0 instead of the length in milliseconds of the Sound.
I have a video player and trying to make a time indicator of minute and seconds.
View 3 Replies1) I want a 60 seconds video to start playing after 40 seconds have been downloaded - to do that I set the NetStream.bufferTime to 40 seconds and retrieve "NetStream.Buffer.Full" event causing the video to really start playing. This step is OK.
2) However, the "NetStream.Buffer.Full" causes data to stop downloading. So the remainder of the video begins to download no sooner than after the 40 seconds have been played. This step is my issue. Can anyone tell me how to avoid this unintended effect? (i.e. playing a video and downloading data at the same time?)
I am creating a flash-based Kiosk. When launched, it runs full page/full screen. However, if a user clicks a button that opens an external document, the swf or Flash Projector exe leaves full page mode and appears in the Flash Player. Is there any way to ensure the swf or projector file always stays in full screen - full page mode?
View 4 RepliesI am working in Flash CS3 and Actionscript 3.0 My application resizes according to browser width and height. If the user first resizes the browser and then loads the flash application, I could not get the full browser width untill the user goes for full screen. Is there any way around, to get the full browser width before the user goes for full screen.
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a small flash site and I want the swf file to have "bleed" or to go to the very end of the window so that the swf isn't just ploped over top of a background. [URL]
View 1 RepliesI tested my skin for YouTube Chromeless player, and seems it worked properly.All graphic elements, including TLFTextFields, are stored in external SWF, all the AS3 code - in loading SWF.I use ProLoader class to load SWF.However, when I tried to attach Player skin code to my Home Page code, I immediately bumped into two issues:
1. TLFTextFields ceased to display proper font;
2. YouTube Chromeless player ceased to enlarge up to Full Screen width in Full Screen mode, whereas all publishing settings were kept the same...
Although I managed to cope with TLFTextField bug by replacing instances with vars in loaded SWF, I have no the slightest idea what to do with those paddings in Full Screen mode... Neither removing all children on stage before loading YouTube Player skin, nor compulsory resetting player's size can't make it work...
I wnat to display a FLVPlayback full screen the same as when you click on the Full Screen component button.
function goFullScreen():void {
vidPlayer.enterFullScreenDisplayState();
}
var vidPlayer:FLVPlayback;
[code]....
I am creating a full screen projector with flash CS4. In the projector I have more videos, starting from an swf player-
The problem I encounter is this:
The projector starts correctly FULLSCREEN (using AS). The video plays 900x506 correctly. If I click on the player, to get the video full screen, it works. But when I press ESC, not only the video, but also the PROJECTOR looses full screen.
This is a bit annoying. Is there a way to apply the "back to normal size" only to the video? I do not want to prevent the app to be exited from full screen, it's not a problem if the user wants to exit the projector full screen. But not when the user exits the video from fullscreen mode.
How to target only the video?
// for Full Screen stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;// for the normal screen stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;But this code does not fulfill my requirement. I need Vertical Scroll Bar, even I go to the FullScreen, but I don't find any Scroll with this code.Even I tried "window.open" of JavaScript with ExternalInterface, but I couldnot succeed.
View 2 Repliesi am creating an interactive application that will run independantly on a computer.I have implimented the full screen stage display state to a btn, and it works great!
-------code-----
import flash.display.StageDisplayState;
function goFullScreen():void
{
[code].....
however as soon as i add a video [i will be adding several] the video takes on the full screen property, and that is not the desired effect.I have used several diff ways to import the video but as soon as i call the full screen, it goes to an all black screen.
I'm trying to add a running timer to my flash movie. I've got it now so that it counts seconds (by comparing _currentframe with the frame rate), but I'd like to be able to express that in minutes:seconds.
