ActionScript 2.0 :: Get The Jitter Effect Applied To A Button?

I'm trying to get the jitter effect applied to a button.I currently have a mc called suggestcaption_mc with the following code applied to it.

This works fine. Now what I am trying to do is turn this into a button which does this effect on rollover?I tried sticking the mc in the hover keyframe of a button but this does nothing.

I have created a textFormat object and applied to Dynamic text field, but I do not see the effect. Am I missing something? I have a section of the code belo. fields[h] is actually a dynamic text field in the case below. As you can see I have assigned the arial as a font and red color as its color. But when I run the movie, it has no effect at all. But if I trace the textFormat as below i can see arial and 0xff0000 (in decimal) in console.

I am applying s:Fade effect on s:ItemRenderer on mouseOver event. The fade effect ends fine, but during its execution, it is applied only on half of the ItemRenderer object, plus half of the adjacent (right) ItemRenderer.
ItemRenderer objects are inside a s:List which uses a HorizontalLayout.
Here is the code for the ItemRenderer called FilterTagRenderer:

I have been able to change the variables to fit my parameters, which was really exciting and I am pretty sure I know what is going on.
However I noticed that while the navigation cycles through each segment, occasionally it breaks the order and jumps to a random segment. how to maintain a strict order when you use either button, i.e. right button cycles 1,2,3,4, left button 4,3,2,1...

I'm having issues with implementing a flex button componentI have applied a CSS style to button and set border-color to, say #555555.So far, it works as expected.Then, when my application is resized, the border of the button component becomes blurred and its width automatically changes from 1 pixel to 2 pixels, which doesn't look very well.hen I maximize the app again, after the border is blurred, the buttons' border becomes 1 pixel and looks nice.

I have some functions that when applied directly to buttons work as planned, but when I create a function from them to apply to the array, they fail to execute properly. This function is meant to set all 56 buttons to alpha 0, and as unselected. What happens is the buttons flash onscreen at 100% before setting to alpha 0. They do behave as if unselected, but don't know if that's due to the code.

This function should fade the button up on rollover. But on rollover the button only increase by 10% then stops. Each subsequent rollover increases it another 10%.

This function should fade the button out on rollout. Since the rollover increases them only by 10% increments (above), the result is the buttons just bounce back and forth between alpha 20 and 30.

pasted the relevant script below my (SORRY it's so long-winded) question/s. I've got the on and off mouse hover working via functions "fRagingOn" and "fRagingOff". I'm not trying to impress you with all those IF conditions. They don't slove the problem anyway. So I apologise for all the superfluous code. "fRagingOn" controls a 12 frame motion tween inside MC "Romantics2" (separate functions do the same with the other four movie clips as well) with "stop();" actions on frames 1 and 12. "fRagingOut" controls "play();" [frame 28] and "gotoAndStop(1); [frame 40] (all that INSIDE movie clip "Romantics2". I know all you have to do is move your mouse to stop the annoying jitter, but is there a way to stop jitter on that spot where the user's mouse position makes the movie clip go into rapid-fire or slow jitter?
And STILL KEEP the interactivity of the MC responding to mouse hover whenever a user moves their mouse? I've tried every combination of "removeEventListener" and "addEventListener" inside the functions and outside but either the movie clip stops working because the Remove Listener has disabled it, or I get jitter on that Achilles Heel mouse postion. Is there an AS3 coding solution to keeping full hover interactivity and COMPLETELY eliminate that annoying jitter once and for all?

I'm working on an AIR for iOS iPad scrolling menu with "kinetic" interaction. I'm trying to emulate as closely as I can the behavior of native components. To that end, I've had to forgo the traditional startDrag() method because of the peculiarities of the native UIScrollView. The reason startDrag() won't work for me is that when you drag the menu past its upper or lower scrolling threshold you encounter resistance, that is, the effect of your mouse/finger on the scroll/dragging of the menu is cut in half. Inside either threshold, if you move your finger a pixel the menu moves a pixel. Beyond either threshold, when you move your finger two pixels the menu only moves one because of the a .5 resistance multiplier. As far as I know, startDrag() doesn't account for any of that.

I'm doing a project that uses a looping video clip sized 1280x720 - but I just can't get flash to play this without a stop and a jitter when it loops. I've tried various implementations of looping code, currently I'm using a very simple variant: on the FLVPlayback component, I have

and that's it. There's nothing else in the scene, at all.
I've even tried using video at the size, yet that too stutters on loop. Is there any way to eliminate this, as it spoils the illusion of a continuous loop entirely. I'm using CS5 right now (recently upgraded from CS3).
edit: I'm using a PC that EASILY should be able to run HD video, if I check the Task Manager, it's using around 3-4% of the CPU, yet I still get poor performance and stutter on loop!

I've searched around a bit but have not found anything that sounds like my issue, or a resolution to it so am hoping this is not unique.I have a movieclip with an image and underneath it some text.I have created a pair of eventlisteners to change the scale of the MovieClip on ROLL_OVER and ROLL_OUT, to 1.3 and 1 respectively.If I hover over and out the image part of the MC this is fine and works as expected.However if I hover over the text, the animation gets stuck doing ROLL_OVER and ROLL_OUT.

I'm making an animation of a line drawing itself. I'm using a vector line that I drew in Illustrator, which I imported to the stage. I have been erasing a bit, inserting a new keyframe, erasing it a bit more, new keyframe etc. When i have finished this I intend to reverse the sequence so the line appears to be drawing itself. This process has been going really well, but at 1820 frames in a section of the line has started to shake/jitter (by which I mean from side to side very quickly). I deleted the frames and did them again, using the same process that I have for the rest of the line which is not jittering, but this small section is still jittering. It doesn't jitter or move when I move between frames, it only jitters when I play the movie by pressing Command + Enter or I export it as a Quicktime .mov file.
PS here is a YouTube video of the problem. The jitter starts around the bottom of South America. You may need to make it quite big on your screen to see it. You'll notice that that part of the line doesn't jitter most of the way along, but starts to jitter when it gets to that part.

I am just retruning to flash from cs2 and its much, much harder.I want to create one simple mute button. Does anyone havea link to how I can do this from start to end in cs4? Everything I've found ends with me getting the error message: "Current selection cannot have actions applied to it" while tutorial carries on and neeer address this as a possibility.

is it possible to ad a "button effect" (different state for "normal" and "hover") to an existing button without having to do it graphically but only with a script?
i ask this because i have a flash-gallery with hundrets of thumbinails in converted to buttons that recall a javascript to open the full image (lightbox) and it would be nice to add each button a nice "hover" effect (maybe they should look dark and become normal brightness when hovered) but i don't want to edit each single button ..

Currently I have retangular jpegs that are converted to linked buttons. The reason I made these buttons as jpegs is b/c I wanted to use this really cool font that most computers wouldn't readily have. Its working just fine but I wish to have a underline effect when the mouse is rolled over. I looked under the properties of the button but it does not have that option...is it possible to do that in the timeline?
Should I replace that non-underlined button with a jpeg that's been underlined when the keyframe is in the over position? I am using both dreamweaver and flash for the first time; all my content is a single flash swf file inside a box that is centered in the page in dreamweaver.
I find the layout arrangement in Dw difficult somehow and Fl much easier to work with. This is the page I'm working on [URL].

I have an array of buttons that are just text and I would like to change the color effect to a blueish color when clicked/active. I can obviously do this in the property inspector, but I would like to change it programatically. Is there a class I can use to accomplish this?

I am making a Flash ad for my company. I am a beginner/intermediate Flash user. I need to add a clickTag, which is done. The issue is that I want the button to "shimmer" when it is rolled over. I cannot figure out how to make this work with the clickTag having to be the topmost layer in the file.

I want to do a simple thing in Flash CS3, but some how I am unable to do it. Actually my requirement was....OnRollOver of a Button I want to slightly zoom it and OnRollOut. I want to slightly zoom out the Button. And the conditions are I should not use TimeLines/Stage Assets etc. Every thing has to come dynamically. I wanna make like a popup effect with a close btn, the matter is that I don't know how to fix it. So any time that I click on any btn will only show a popup, then if I click in another btn the previos popup disappear and shows the new one, by now I can't figure out how fix it.

I was just surfing the forums, and found exactly what I needed, but then I lost it . I need to create an effect where a bar go's to the rolled over button. Its a horizontal menu, with the sliding bar. I can get the bar to follow the mouse, but not the moused over button. Please help, this is very frustrating.

i am creating an e-learning tutor which teaches music theory & each scene will teach a different subject of Music (such as a notes, scales, clefs etc).
I have a textbox on the stage which loads text from an external txt file.... and each time the user presses the 'forward_btn' i would like it to load the next paragraph of text but im not too sure of how to implement the next paragraph button.
