I want the button to be "products" and when you mouse over it products fades out and innovation fades in and moves to the top right, like an animation.
I imported a image file and made it into a button. So in flash8, is there any way to add an actionscript or anything to make the image transparent when I mouseover the button?
View 1 Replieswhen user mouseovers the green part, the mouseover effect follows the mouse where it goes within the green part. I have been looking for tutorials how to do this but to no avail
View 1 RepliesI don't use actionscript very often, but I'm convinced this effect should work.I just want the movie clip "button" to play on mouseover and rewind on mouseout.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to create some simple buttons for a splash page. I've followed a tutorial at [URL] in order to achieve the desired effect, but there seems to be a problem: the rollOver action seems to work, but if one keeps their mouse cursor towards the left edge of the button, the animation stutters indefinitely. Here's my button: [URL]
View 3 RepliesThe following block of code represents a sphere that is made from several pictures. The project contains small jpg thumbnails and their corresponding photos that are loaded when the thumbs are of course clicked. I have a problem in figuring out how to make these small thumbs change color once they are clicked, and to remain in that state/color, so the user knows what thumbs he has been clicking on, when he returns to the "board".

I have a map that I want to make in Flash with mouseover effect. Example map is here [URL] What I need?
1) When mouse is over the location pin it must show infobox. Yes similar what Google Places does. but with mouse over effect, not on Click. I was using Adobe Flash 5.0's default code snippets and got stuck after this code bolow... I'm new to Flash, sorry but learn very fast/

I'm playing around with this code and am trying to get the color effect to work on mouseover, but nothing happens. Can someone take a quick peak and maybe point me to a flaw in my code?

View 8 RepliesI am trying to make an image gallery with pan and zoom effect on mouse over. Now what I want is exactly like this website [URL].
View 2 RepliesI am trying to make a grid of photo thumbnails where the thumbnail grows when you mouse over it. Sort of like the Mac Dock effect but in a grid. [URL]I don't need to load the photos as the above sample does. And I'd be happy with an effect in which the individual thumnbail grows on mouseover, or one more like the Dock effect in which the nearby thumbnails grow too, but less.
View 3 RepliesI have a movieclip within the "over" section of my button, which contains both an roll over and a roll out animation. My problem is that I cant seem to get flash to play the rollOut animation.
I placed the following code in the button itself
on (rollOut) { this.start_mc.gotoAndPlay("mouseOut");}
I tried setting up a function to find when the user rolls off the button but it didn't work either.
I am creating Drag and drop flash application. While dragging an instance of a movieclip I want also the dropable region to show effect like MouseOver case. So that end user can confirm that they are dropping the item in right region. Here the mouse is moved while it is kept clicked .
View 8 RepliesI'm using Flash 8 to create a FlashPlayer 7-compatible application... It will have a few dynamic textfields that will be filled from live XML data (all this is not a problem- I've done that before ^_^)... but I have a problem:
I know that you can use HTML in Textfields. I know that you can use "asfunction" in HTML-links to call functions. I know how to make a "floating MC" that follows the mouse like a tooltip with changing text and all, triggered by an onRollOver for an MC. Is there a way to assign such an "onRollOver" (that switches a trigger value for a "tooltext MC"...) to a link in a textfield? The problem is that the textfield is scrollable and the entries in it that are linked can have various length of 4 to 12 letters length. Otherwise I'd do it with transparent MCs above the linked areas... but that would be rather complicated... does anyone know how it could be done otherwise?
I'm a Web designer from London and although I have good Photoshop skills, I can't put together my designs for animation
Description:
I would like to know how I can make an image invisible until I hover the mouse over it. Once the image becomes visible how can I make an image behind it (on a different layer) rotate until I move the mouse away.
1. How do I make image invisible until I hover mouse over it?
2. Once image is displayed how do I make an image rotate 90 degrees behind it?
3. Once I move the mouse off, how do I make the button become invisible again, and the rotated image to be restored to it's original rotation.
I am using Flash / Photoshop (CS5)
I made a worldmap which is a movieclip, and inside that worldmap I create dynamicly project icons which contain a text balloon with some short information about that project.The problem I'm facing is that I want to make the text balloon appear on mouseover, and when I press the movieclip, it goes to another page.I've been trying this for a while but I can't find a good solution, onRollOver and onPress on movieclips won't work, and I have no clue how else I could do it. The reason why I add them inside the worldmap is because I want to zoom in and out or move the map in certain directions.when I zoom in and out on the map, the icons become largers as well. How can I make it so that the icons always stay the same size?
The flashmx8 file can be found at: http:[url]....
The code is at the first layer called "scripts" in the first frame.
The code for adding dynamicly dots onto the map is at line: 72 and the code for zooming starts at line: 131, and basicly the whole actionscript is in the first frame to keep it easy and mobile to tweak the whole application.
I want to be able to make a movie clip (that acts as a button) so the roll over effect finishes before the roll off effect is triggered. Like if a marker circles a button, i want the circling animation to stop before the roll off effects happens. Anyone know how to do this.
View 2 RepliesI am adding a swf to my website with a streaming flv player and I would like to make the buffer mc invisible until the invisible button covering the video player is moused over. I would like the net stream to begin when the page loads, but for the video to begin when the player is moused-over, and then pause when moused-off, right now the buffer is showing on page load and the animation is really distracting.
This is the code I am working with:
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect("rtmp://rtmphost.com/banner/");
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);

I have a basic mouseover in my flex application which changes an image onmouseover and changes it back onmouseout using the code mouse Over "functionToChangeImageSource()" and another one to mouseout.It works fine when you slowly mouse over and out, however if I quickly move the mouse over it, it occasionally stays on the mouseover image and the mouseout function doesnt appear to kick in. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or does anyone have any ideas why its happening?Also, I've tried the rollOver and rollOut instead but it has the same problem.[code]I'd imagine you're correct about the mouseover event not completing before mouseout is but how to I fix this?
View 3 RepliesI have a button on the second frame of a movie clip. When the user mouses off it, the timeline goes to the first frame of the movie clip. I want a button on top of it that can be clicked by the user for a getURL function. But when the user mouses over the button on top, it registers as rolling off the original button. Is there a way to have the user mouse over the getURL button on top without going back to the first frame? The problem is that the getURL button is in its own movie clip along with other content in a popup menu so that I can make it scrollable, and when the user mouses over this movie clip / button then the rollOut function is activated on the original button.
I've attached a simplified version of what I'm looking at, to show you the problem I have with mousing over the getURL button.
I am creating a thumnail bar having the thumnail of the images, it has the default visible thumbs of 7 images, while the others must be hidden on the right of the bar. I used the code in AS3 to add thumbs in to the bar, the first 7 were fine, but the others still appearred visible and cover the bar border.My thumbBar is simply a rectangle and what i really did was to thumbBar.addChild(thumb). But all the thumbs appeared visible, first 7 thumbs stayed inside the rectange but the others were outside.How can I make the others invisible and turn them visible only when i use with the MouseOver Event.
View 3 RepliesI want to create a menusystem that bases only on mouse over functions. Tough there is one thing that might become quite frustrating for the user and that is small by mistake mouseovers that brings them to another page.So what I want to create is buttons with a delay of lets say 200ms. 200ms that the user has to have her or his mouse over the button to activate it.But I have run into some problems, and after a lot of googling the only result I got is menu-buttons that are activated directly on mouse over, but does not act out the manuver until the delay is over.So the user could practicly have his mouse in china when the button is activated. Which is not the result I want.I want a button that is activated after that the mouse has spent 200ms on the button.This is the failed direct reaction Actionscript 2.0 of the button I got at the moment.
Code:
on (rollOver) {
timer = setInterval(goto, 200);

i know it must a be very eaaaaaasy one, but believe me i tried: with TweenLite, with code, searches, to no avail. What i want to do is very simple: i have a clip_mc that sits there and waits for two buttons (toLeft_mc and toRight_mc) to be hovered and when hovered, clip_mc moves to the left and to the right by increment of 1px.

I'm trying to achieve something quite specific. I have a few transparent PNGs that will be dynamically generated and will be arbitrary shapes. I want these to form a sort of "hotspot" on mouseover, but I obviously don't want the mouseover to comprise the transparent bit - simplest analogy I can think of a is a single jigsaw puzzle piece.Is there any way to do this in AS3? Would I just load the PNG and flash automatically discards the transparent pixels?
If not the PNG, I can get the "jigsaw piece" in raw RGB pixel values as an XML doc. Could I maybe use the bitmap class to "populate" a bitmap using these raw values which I can then use as a movieclip with button enabled?
edit: from reading around elsewhere, a "map" analogy seems far more apt.
i have once again resorted to asking the pros on how to accomplish something. I am trying to use a UIloader laid up next to itself and use a different image each time. I have also tried to add a roll over too. I have figured out how to use arrays (i have only got one item in my array currently) but cant get them to work within a source file path.

I've got a line of text, set as a button, that triggers an image and some text to show up further down the page when a user hovers over the text. However, when the mouse passes over the text/images at the bottom of the page (that should only come up when the text is in an 'over' state), that 'button' section all triggers. How do I make it so that only the text initiates the button 'down' state?
View 2 RepliesI've got a menu with 3 menu items. Each item is a mc. There is a pointer mc that eases to the mc menu item that you mouseover. That was working fine...until I found out that I have to make the menu dumb enough for flash 5. As we know, you can't assign button events to mc's unless using flashplayer 6 or higher. So I tried to just drop some invisible buttons over my menu item mc's and assign the mouseover events to call the prototype in each invisible button. The prototype should then ease the pointer mc to the position of the menu item that I've moused over. Problem is that it restarts the playhead back to frame 1 each time I mouse over a button.
View 7 RepliesI have a simple movie clip for which i bind two events 1-MouseOver and MouseOut
in these events i am just tracing simple text
But the Problem is when i take my mouse over the movie clip both events called tracing the string in the output panel
Infact, things should be done like that on mouse over, its text is printed and when i take my mouse away[out] from the movieClip MouseOut event should be called.
ActionScript Code:
import fl.motion.Color;
import flash.display.MovieClip;

I have a 400x300 area that needs to detect a rollover and animate several buttons, text fields, etc. sliding into it when the mouse rolls into the area so that they can be manipulated, and animate them sliding out when the mouse rolls out of the area to hide them from view. (example here: [URL])
What is the best way to do this? The only way I have got it to work so far is by using a listener to track mouse position, but it's not reliable since you can move the mouse quickly in some areas of the movie and the listener doesn't catch it.
