I am creating Drag and drop flash application. While dragging an instance of a movieclip I want also the dropable region to show effect like MouseOver case. So that end user can confirm that they are dropping the item in right region. Here the mouse is moved while it is kept clicked .

But the Problem is when i take my mouse over the movie clip both events called tracing the string in the output panel
Infact, things should be done like that on mouse over, its text is printed and when i take my mouse away[out] from the movieClip MouseOut event should be called.

So I've been working on a Character class for platformer/ generic side-view style games. The problem is that i might need bits of characters to appear to go through other characters (i.e. char 1 grabs char 2 and runs char 2 through with weapon) the problem with this is that the characters' parts are contained in movieclips to run code on them holding them together and keeping me from having to position them just perfectly every frame in the IDE. it seems I have four choices:
1) Completely reprogram the display list -not practical
2) just hide the area of the movieclip that is intersecting with the other character
3) break apart the characters and merge them into an "interaction manager" movieclip
4) just give up.
I don't have the skills for option 1. Option 3 is ok i guess, but i'd rather try option 2 first. My biggest problem is that i have no idea how i would go about selecting just the intersecting part of the movieclip without reprogramming some part of the display list. If anyone can understand this, please give me something to point me in a direction.
if it is possible to load basic html web pages (like text) into a movie clip, or at least use actionscript to set the bounding box of the new window to have the same border region as the original movie clip (such as 600x400 pix at x+100, y+150, for example).
Alternatively, is there a method in which I could load several large scale text files into a region of a movie clip, without having to create endless .as files filled with thousands of

when user mouseovers the green part, the mouseover effect follows the mouse where it goes within the green part. I have been looking for tutorials how to do this but to no avail

The target area is several irregular polygon shapes. I would prefer if the target area would show an outline around the area.
My button try didn't work because I'm already pressed down on another button (the one I'm dragging).
I'm trying to create a site the consists of one huge movieclip, where you click anywhere and drag like you do when you use the hand tool in flash or photoshop, etc. The only difference is that I want it more smoothly with an ease.I'm not sure if you can do this with start drag or not. I've tried making the movieclip ease to the mouse position on click, but it's not what I'm looking for.

I know that you can use HTML in Textfields. I know that you can use "asfunction" in HTML-links to call functions. I know how to make a "floating MC" that follows the mouse like a tooltip with changing text and all, triggered by an onRollOver for an MC. Is there a way to assign such an "onRollOver" (that switches a trigger value for a "tooltext MC"...) to a link in a textfield? The problem is that the textfield is scrollable and the entries in it that are linked can have various length of 4 to 12 letters length. Otherwise I'd do it with transparent MCs above the linked areas... but that would be rather complicated... does anyone know how it could be done otherwise?

For displaying content of my site, I use viewstack and button bar. It is ready, but now I'd like to add some animation effect in that.
For example changing the navigation content shows flip animation.
I'm trying to enable the user to drag a movieclip vertically. I've coded something to be dragged horizontally, and thought it would be a simple matter of swapping some of the info around.
Here is my current code:

Now when the movieclip is clicked, it completely changes position and will only be dragged horizontally. Then when its clicked again, it will jump vertically by how much I previously dragged it horizontally.
If -- draggable -- moivieClip_A is created, and then moivieCLip_B is created as a child of movieClip_A, (when movieClip_A is dragged onPress, movieClip_B simultaneously moves with it), is it possible to change a property of movieClip_B with a mouse event? Seems as though movieClip_A's layer position / mouse events are blocking mouse events for movieClip_B.

I'm trying to accomplish something in actionscript that involves dragging a movie clip. You see, I want to drag a movie clip out of a scroller (see this tutorial - I am using it currently to attempt to make this work) and onto another area of the stage, where users will then be able to drag it around and resize it. I am hoping that the user will be able to create something from these pictures.
