I have tried looking through the tutorials for what I am looking for but to no avail. I am embarking on a mini solo project (building my first website) and I wanted to give my buttons a "rocking" effect on mouse over.
I am already able to do the simple on mouse over change colour etc so wanted to try something different.
If a mouse comes over a button(not click) then how can we goto different frame. E.g. if mouse comes over(not click/hit) aw_btn, in frame 1 then how can timeline jump into frame 20.

What I wanted to know is if it is possible to have a small mirror effect underneath the animation, sort of like this image
It obviously needs to be a proper mirror and not just a static image.
The animation itself is 940px wide, 200px high so I will only need the mirror effect to be around 50 - 80 px high.

View 8 RepliesI have made a couple of 'advanced rollovers' if you will, yet one thing is annoying me about them! When you roll over the button it looks great, yet as soon as your mouse goes off the hit area, it just suddenly shoots straight back to frame 1 of the movie clip , is there any way to animate a scene once the mouse has gone off the button, so it looks smooth when rolling over and when rolling off?

I understand that it's possible to give it the transparency through the HTML publish setting using the 'transparent windowless' property.However, i wanted to know whether there's an actionscript property to give the same transparency effect to the stage. like the opactiy or something (sorry, I might be wrong) The thing is I have a external preloader which loads the content swf and when it gets loaded, the stage loses it's transparency.

My problem is that when this shine effect passes over the button and hits the mouse cursor it causes the button to deactivate. Is there a way for me to have the shine_mc within the button_mc be ignored by the mouse completely?

My problem was that the When I apply the zoomIn effect of image,It is not actually inside the MovieClip.Image is coming out from the MovieClip during the zoomIn effect.

I use this method to give a fade in effect to my galleries, but there is a problem with it when i m viweing it in the browser if i go to another tab then go back to the tab wich has the sef with this fade in mask t messes all up the mask get smaller or dissapear anyone knows how to fix it or another way of making an fadein/out mask? here is the code i use

Since I can't post links yet, I'll just tell you how to get to the tutorial. I am loading the .png image files on my stage and i have mouse_over and Mouse_out effects on that, now this .pngfiles has little drop shadows on sides - when i mouse over it - it scales a little bit,but when i mouse over on edges - it acts wired, it countinuously detects mouse over aand mouse out like 100 times in 1 sec, if i move mouse from edges to little center then it works fine,

I use the Button.useHandCursor method to acheive this. This works fine in the Flash IDE, but when testing in a browser, the mouse pointer won't change back to the hand unless i move the mouse. I've tried a LOT of stuff, including updateAfterEvent without any success.

The mouse-over effect should work like this: when the mouse cursor is dragged over the object it should glow, but if the mouse cursor remains over the object it should still glow, but another mouse over effect should occur, showing an info box for the object. Until now I have just made the object as a button, and in the "over" box I have made the object glow, by defining it as a movie clip. However, this only works for the glow part. How do I add another mouse-over effect (which is delayed 1 sec) to the same object?
