I was wondering if it possible to write up some AS that will take line paths that you have drawn and convert them into a Path object? For example say you drew a jagged line from left to write, would there be a way to have AS convert that into a Path object.
I have 2 classes: A Main.as and XmlLoader.as. In Main.as I now want to access a variable of a XmlLoader-instance, which has been changed in run-time by a Event.COMPLETE EventListener.To make things clearer here some code:
Code: Main.as: package { import flash.display.*;
[code]....
in Main.as I want to trace (trace(_xmlData._xml)) the xml file which is loaded.
So I'm trying to detect if a variable has been changed by a swf loaded into another swf.What I'm doing is when a thumbnail is clicked on the child swf I want it to fire a function on the main swf. I can get the model to trace out when the value was changed inside of the child swf by itself but when i load it into the main swf I can't get the onModelChanged event to fire off.Container swf as
I'm trying to detect if a shared object's value has changed. Is there a way to do this? I'm using setProperty and it works fine but I need to change info the info has changed. I have tried event.changeList but it just shoots out [Objects] without giving me values. Can't it tell me a boolean to see if it has changed?
I am working in air application , i need to know how to add event listener when any object is updated,how can i implement this.Example:i have Class name Vehicle, and child class are Car,Bus,Bikes,Scooter,..etc, child class also have many properties like color,model no,....etc
I have array collection and AddChild() method in Vehicle class by this, i will add, child class to the vehicle class.I need a event listener which can trigger if any of the property is updated or changed in any of the child class property, how can i implements this in Flex3.
I'm writing a sort of "dynamic gallery" in flash. The problem is that a child of the gallery can be resized in runtime, and then I have to rearrange the gallery.
Now, of course, I can't overload the gallery items, since it's a display object which is unpredictable. and even if I could force overloading on the items, how will I be notified if, let's say, an animation started, something move, and the item got bigger Is there some sort of Event for a display object which is dispatched on ANY kind of resize ??
My dumb solution was to go through all the gallery's items and rearrange them every given milliseconds, and now I feel so dirty and I need to confess my sins.
I am currently trying to create an app using flash AIR.I would like to find some more information on how to make an object snap to another ojbect then follow its path, eg. a person object is already on the stage, then drag an arrow to the object which snaps to it, then on play button it follows the arrow path. all in pure actionscript, no guide layers.
I am converting all embed statements in my site with lazy loading. The code which was previously like this:
[Embed(source="/newswf.swf", symbol="kungfu")] public static var Kungfu:Class;
has now been converted to this form:
private var _loader:Loader = new Loader(); public static var abcd:Class = null; _loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,onLoadComplete);
I'm trying to trace the path of an object by using setPixel on the object's position every frame in a BitmapData/Bitmap pairing. These pixels aren't showing up normally and I suspect I have a fundamental misunderstanding of the BitmapData class. Here's what I'm doing:
public var contrailBase:BitmapData; public var contrail:Bitmap; private var contrailColor:uint;[code].....
Using this code, the red pixels don't show up. If I initialize contrailBase to 0xFF000000 instead then I get a black screen on which the red pixels DO draw, but I need the bitmap to be transparent except for the contrail. What am I doing wrong?
I am making a Scrollbar component and I want a script to call a calculation function for resizing the scrollbar when a new data is loaded.I was experimenting with Object.watch but it's use is beyond me. I don't understand if its the thing I need.Can Object.watch call a function when say a dynamic textfield's data is changed?
I have several UIs and wish to automatically load images into the containers. I have repeated the actionscript line, which has created a lot of code.As the lines are similar all but the image number, I am thinking to use a loop and variable to insert the image number into the code. Here is the code:[code]a variable to replace the number between I am not sure how to do the same for the Movie Clip path.Is it possible to use a variable to define the number (2) in this statement?
I am trying to create an xml based site navigation that will drill down to an infinite number of xml levels. I have tried to send an xml path as a variable with the currently selected menu item but I doesn't seem to work. Here is my code, it seems as though it should work, but it does not.
The bold below is what I would like to work, however it does not. It might not be able to happen like this at all.
basically on mouse down I take the event.target.name and perform a string manipulation to get the number out of the target and add some string to front and end to get the name of the movieclip I would like to effect. Is it possible to insert the value of dotName into the path?
eventName = event.target.name; stringManip1 = eventName.substring(13, eventName.indexOf("_")); //get the Number before the _ dotName = "dot" + stringManip1 +"_mc"
I have a variable that is refers to the names of folders, and I need to insert the variable into the pathname when I loadMovie. I cannot seem to get the variable to become part of the pathname
loadMovie('VARIABLE/image.jpg', _root.loadhere);
I've tried parenthesis, [], (), do not know the correct way to call the variable.
I have a menu with 4 tabs. When I click on one I want it to open and the previous one to close.
I'm storing the previous tab as a variable (_previousTab) but am having trouble adding the variable to the path to the MovieClip of the previous tab. The error Flash gives me is:
TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties. at MenuRun/menuOpen()
[Code]....
If I replace mainframe[_previousTab] with the name of the MovieClip it works fine. I'm thinking it's something to do with the variable being a String perhaps?
through out a very old complicated fla there are buttons which set variables using _global paths
such as:
function menu1_2(Event:MouseEvent) { global.mode = "hide_hotbox"; MovieClip(this).gotoAndStop("stage_1_b"); }
How can I make the variable "hide_hotbox" and others like it accessible and changeable from any movie clip -- whether they be nested in other movie clips or on the main timeline, etc?
I need to load an external SWF into a movieclip, and get the name of the SWF from a variable from a class. The variable is called getSWF and is defined as the following in the class
public var getSWF = "movie.swf";
When I trace(getSWF); on the first frame of the main time line it outputs fine. However when I use the following code on the movieclip:
var imageRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest (getSWF); var imageLoader:Loader = new Loader(); imageLoader.load(imageRequest); addChild(imageLoader);
I'd like some help on using a variable in a path to a MovieClip. I have a menu with 4 tabs. When I click on one I want it to open and the previous one to close.
I'm storing the previous tab as a variable (_previousTab) but am having trouble adding the variable to the path to the MovieClip of the previous tab. The error Flash gives me is:
[Code]...
If I replace the variable _previousTab with the name of the MovieClip it works fine. I'm thinking it's something to do with the variable being a String perhaps?? Also, the trace statements return the desired MovieClip names.
