ActionScript 2.0 :: Implement Javascript Form In Flash?
Jan 14, 2009
I've been on a mission to create a flash registration form that communicates with Joomla / CCBuilder. So far, I managed to figure everything out by myself but after a week and a half of working on this, I really want to get it out of the way. So I'm stumped on how to make a flash registration form using the code I made / was provided.
I am trying to implement a comment form for a flash page using a php email system. I am new to flash, but I got it working for the most part. The problem is that I receive emails, but they are blank and do not contain the info I put in. Below is the Actionscript I used and the php I used.
on (release) { if (!FirstName.length) { EmailStatus = "Please Enter your name."; }
I have a website with a flash image viewer. Once user clicks on flash button, I need to give a confirmation modal dialog before saving the file and if user clicks on OK only I have to pop file download dialog. Confirmation dialog with in flash is not an option for me. So I have to invoke JS function to pop a confirmation.Within the site, a custom DHTML confirmation modal dialog is used and it has two JS callback functions one for "OK" and the other for "Cancel" button click event handers. I have to use this modal dialog for this need.With Flash player 10 security features, it is unable to pop flash file download dialog via JavaScript
I have a custom form that I want to implement and I am having a problem figuring out how to do so. I want to have it work like an inner popup where it blurs and unblurs the background image (like the schedule from hbo.com).[code]...
Lets say I load a section called home.swf into the section loader. Within the home.swf I have a button for someone to call up the form.swf. Is it possible for the form to blur the random background image when loaded then unblur it when it's done?
I have 4 var names "firstname, lastname, phonenumber, email" and 5 check boxes.I've also have a dynamic text box called EmailStatus. I got pretty frustrated with my code and felt it was messy,how to implement the check boxes into my email'd form.
I want to resize a image using flash resizer.java script browse and upload a image and send to flash resizer and flash resizer resize the image and send back to javascript.Is it possible to send and receive image from javascript and if yes then please let me know what I need to do on flash end and how i can make javascript accessible to my flash code.do i need to load my full sourse code or javascript done there job with SWF only.
I have the following form code in my HTML, basically including a couple of hidden input fields and the Flash object (disregard the missing <object> and <embed> values):
Note: The Math functions acos, asin, atan, atan2, cos, exp, log, pow, sin, and sqrt may result in slightly different values depending on the algorithms used by the CPU or operating system. Flash runtimes call on the CPU (or operating system if the CPU doesn't support floating point calculations) when performing the calculations for the listed functions, and results have shown slight variations depending upon the CPU or operating system in use.
My web application works with very large and small numbers that I suspect may see a difference depending on which machine is running it (especially with mobile devices whose processors aren't as powerful as desktop machines'). My question is, is this behavior a function of the language?
That is, I assume some languages implement their own algorithms for the above functions, and so may be more consistent (except for differences in round-off errors introduced by the choice of processor/CPU that would exist for all languages).
Anyone know if Javascript has it's own algorithms, or does it outsource them to the CPU/processor like ActionScript?
I want to create a form (flash or java/ajax) that allows selection data to be pulled from an xml file.
Example:
A ring builder application - the user selects the ring setting in one dropdown and then they select a diamond in another drop down. But the prices of the diamonds changes every day based upon the market, so we would need to easily update that data - hence an xml or excel file.
It would be even better if the data could be linked - such as selecting a princess cut diamond, then the settings that are only compatible with princess cut show up, and then after selecting a setting, only diamonds that are the right size for the setting show.
I have a super involved and somewhat silly site I've been working on for a long time piecing together fragments of AS2 code and modifying them to the best of my limited ability.The site is here:http:[url]....I am finally adding the last steps, a series of contact forms with a PHP script in the back end. Anyway, I implemented a form script and have it triggered by clicking the "CONTACT" button you can see on the lower bar. So, click contact and once the form opens (an external SWF loaded into an MC), type away and everything works fine unless you use the letter "f" in either upper or lowercase. It causes the screen to flash and for the form input to lose focus.It works (in that you can enter everything normally -- the form doesn't function, but that's just the PHP which I have yet to edit.)
I have a qtwebkit browser with Mozilla NPAPI plugins from which I access a web page. This page contains flash forms and I need to be able to access and manipulate its elements. Does anyone knows if this is possible and how?
I was following 1 of the flash tutorials about creating a flash form and using .php to send the form to myself.I've followed all the instructions but upon uploading, the file just doesn't seem to work. I hope to have some kind of form in my new website.
I am trying to create a simple form using Actionscript 3 that will collect data from a form, then pass that data to an asp file. I have attached the following code to the submit button,but this is not working.I'm not sure if I have to add anything else and I don't understand why this is not working. I'm trying to load all the variable info into one variable called email form.
submit_btn.onRelease = function() { var emailform:text; emailform.email_txt = email_txt.text;[code]......
Is it possible to make desktop Air application by using HTML/JavaScript and Flash?Actually I want to make an Air app (which is for desktop) by using flash and want to use HTML , javascript and CSS as well.Is it possible ?
I need to execute some javascript string code from flash swf file using actionscript 3. I read that it could be done by passing the javascript code to the parent html document , using externalinterface.call function. Then I assume it will be faster if I can declare functions in the javascript code in the HTML document in the first use of externalinterface.call funtion ; if flash code calls the javascript code repeatedly. So let me ask you how to do that. For details , any javascript to be loaded is unknown in design time and I can not prepare a javascript file to be loaded.
I have a flash form that need to submit values to a PHP file.I am using in flash: varsToSend.send("subsrcibe.php","process","POST"); The "subsrcibe.php" contains a form that is connected directly to a database.What i want to do is, to load the variables from Flash to this PHP file, and then submit them automatically to the database (The PHP page should not open to the users).
Is it possible to pass file names from a running Flash application, which only purpose is to enable multiple-file-selection, to a JavaScript application which handles upload of all files to the server?I have examined various Flash upload solutions (like SWFUpload, Uploadify, etc.) and none of them meets my needs. I want an easy to implement solution (like Uploadify) which also lets me specify various parts of the HTTP request.
The reason I need this is because my upload form uses session cookies (for user authentication) and an CSRF token both passed to the server when uploading files.Is it technically possible to pass filenames (+ paths) to a JavaScript application which then handles the upload?
Here's the challenge: I have a Flash movie which will be embedded in a page using an unknown DOM ID that I want to be able to identify/store for callback in a JS function. My ideal user flow would be: User clicks button in Flash. Flash pauses any animations / video / sounds / etc. Flash calls an injected JS function to display a page-covering overlay experience. When user closes overlay experience, a callback method on the Flash object is called. Flash resumes playback.
The problem is, when AS3 uses the ExternalInterface.call("functionName", args...) method, there doesn't seem to be a DOM event triggered, and thus it is impossible to tell which object called a JS function, so having a "registerMe()" function doesn't seem to work. Basically, the injected JS function has no way to determine which DOM object to call, because the ID of the Flash object is unknown.
I'd like to call a javascript function from an embedded .swf file. Specifically, I'd like to call a function in one of my externally linked javascript files from within: function loadTrack(){
[Code]...
which is in an .as file which I assume somehow becomes the swf file. How would I go about this and 're-compile' the .as file?
I'm trying to write a web application that searches google and then downloads the result sites and parses them.The search has to be done on the client side. Without implementing a server side proxy.Can this be done using javascript/sliverlight/flash?
let suppose i have a object named "data" which has a callBack function named "closeItem" which does something. So i have flash file which has a close button. on click of that i am calling this function which closes this item. So issue is? If i pass this "closeItemFunction" as global function this works fine. but if a pass this function as a "data.closeItem" this doesn;t work throwing some falsh error. so i just wanna ask that "does flash only call gobal scoped javascript function" ??
I want to limit my SWF file so that it cannot be stolen and hosted on another server. So if the domain serving the SWF file isn't on a list of approved domains, the SWF will not load normally but will instead display a message that links to one of the approved locations. What I'm unsure about is how to access the domain that is hosting the file (or get the fully qualified URL of the file). If You know how to get that information, I'm using Flash CS4 to compile the code targeting FP 9.
I am a c# asp.net developer and need to implement a number of flash website banners. Previously for static image banners I have implemented on_click code behind or javascript to log the banner has been clicked back to a database and process the re-direction. I don't have much knowledge of flash other than I know that a flash program can handle on-click events of the program. Therefore, can somebody suggest the best solution for capturing and processing on-click events of a flash object on a webpage.
I want to implement Video Chat with two person, the person will be randomly selected like in chatroulette. I have no idea of RTMP server so is there any opensource system that I can use or create from scratch. I am new to flash and worked on php.
I'm looking at this example: and for the life of me I don't see how to utilize this in Flash. I don't want to build a Flex app... I want to implement this object in my Flash code. But I'm not having any luck importing mx.controls or getting an instance of this component. It's not in my component's library, either.Is there some lib I'm missing? Or am I just attempting the impossible here?
With this script Flash appear on my site. But the problem is I cant put it on the right place!! How can I do that?? Its little outside from the right place. But I cant find the way out!!
With all the recent hype about JavaScript and HTML5 replacing Flash, I wanted to know - How would it be possible to protect client-side js code? Of course, it is possible to obfuscate it, but that would only make it a little harder. Also, for games which submit high scores to the server, wouldn't it be incredibly easy to modify those scores before they are sent to the server? I know even Flash files can be decompiled, but they can be obfuscated and flash decompilation is not as easy as modifying data in JS - could be done easily using a plugin such as Firebug. I'd like to know everyone's views on this.
