I'm trying to incorporate a simple comment box in which users can input text and view all the text others have put in. I am struggling! I used a guestbook tutorial and it is going nowhere.
View 0 Repliesi created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.

I have the .FLA file attached. main stage I have the following: of "yes" and "no" with keyframes to jump a message to the user about if their answer was correct or notMy button has the following script:

Am I not doing this correct? Everytime I type yes into the input box, it jumps me to my "no" label. I have researched, and I am doing something so simple and wrong, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.

I'm trying to extend the text input that comes in flex to support an icon, just like mac os x search text input has a grey circle aligned to the right, the text input has a addChild method, but it didn't work for me.

Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. If you click on it, the cursor appears for a split second after you release the mouse button, but you cannot type anything in it.This is the actionscript for the output form:

I open up Flash CS5 and make a simple INPUT TEXTFIELD. I run the program, and I can't even use all the characters. It is under ARIAL font. This is literally destroying my soul. Look, if I want to embed fonts, I will embed fonts like in CS4. What is the crazy idea that now we have to embed every font we want to use? Is that how this is going? If I want to use ARIAL, I literally have to embed it? Did APPLE get their hands on Adobe developers and do something seriously this sick to the CS5 world?

i have an one input text box, first i type text into it and press space bar at this it will become empty and ready to accept next input from starting position, i make the text box empty by
textbox.text = "";
but the cursor not set to initial position in text box it consider "" as "space" and cursor will display after one space only, i need that cursor again move to starting position..

This code corresponds to a quiz question where the correct answer is either blue or green. I get the #1009 error if I input "blue". The answer "green" seems to work ok. What's wrong with my code? Is there a better way to make is so more than one answer works? Something like "blue" or "green" or "otheranswer", etc..?

The fact is I get complains from some users that they cannot see the menu at all. Is this a screen thing? A flash player issue?

I need the ability to click the Bold button and it bolds or unbolds at the cursor so if I hit the bold button what I type from that point on will be bold until I hit the button again and then it goes back to regular. I am able to change it to bold or unbold by selecting the text and clicking the button but I also need to do it without selecting.

I have this function within my flash program that allows a person to make notes, at the moment they notes are just saved from a dynamic textfield to variable and hover around in flash output space, now I really need to get it so that when they click 'save' it exports the text from flash and saves it onto the users computer. I really don't want to use fscommand... and I know it can be done with PHP but trying to find a suitable tutorial is harder than I thought... so I would wondering if anyone could recommend a good tutorial or has done it before and can give some tips?
