I have tried to use this action script command, to load a picture on the scene when a button is clicked. The script contains no errors when I am checking, but nothing happens when I click the button. (Squere is a rectangle converted to a movie clip symbol

Im loading several thumbnails from out of a database into flash, everything is stored as it should. Then i create a Rectangle called "mc_mask". This one is created as it should with the correct values. Then im looping through this for(){}. As you can see im duplicating a movieclip "mc_thumb_holder" then eval them to my array, there im loading in a Movie with .loadMovie(thumb); Now when i set the rectangle as a mask on each of the duplicated movieclips it wont work. So my question is:

I want to make a picture gallery and use buttons that move you from picture to picture and backwards, but I don't want to tell button 1 to go to frame 2 and button 2 to got to frame 3 and so on (I hope you know what I mean)Can I use on button on a separate layer with the same action set? I tried something like that, but it didn't work:

I recently used the loadMovie action to load a .swf file to a target in the movie which it was being called from. Then I tried calling a picture to another target in the movie, but it did not load the picture as intended. I read about it on my book, but it didn't seem to work. Is there anyways on calling a picture into a target in the movie without placing the picture inside an swf file?

When i click the the green button i want the green image to fade in.. i fugured out a way to do this on the timeline, but then i have to have a black box first fading in to remove the old picture and then start fading in the new picture..
View 2 RepliesI made a simple picture slideshow with a timer, prev/next buttons, pause/play buttons and jump buttons. Everything went good so far.Now i'm trying make every picture go to a URL when the picture is clicked but only the link on the first frame goes to the URL when clicked the other 5 buttons do nothing when click.(FYI: I made alpha 0% buttons in a layer above pictures)I tried two different codes but both have no effect.

View 3 RepliesI am really stuck with a loadmovie action that I cannot find the solution to. I have a website that I had to split up as the loading time was too long. I have used a loadMovie function and it loads the external movie but the problem is that the external movie requiring a little bit of time to load I want a preloader to come first.
I have attached screenshots of this (wssmain liks to the arch_mc1) . The problem is that the movie loads but the preloader doesn't play. Anybody has any ideas why?
The first screenshot shows the wssmain whereas the second (preloader2) shows the arch_mc1. If the fla files are required I will make them available for download.

I load my external image into emptymc which is inside mc_container:loadMovie("myimage.jpg", mc_container.emptymc); //placed on main timeline.This works fine. However when I go to a different frame within mc_container(specifically a frame without an instance of "emptymc") emptymc gets unloaded. As soon as I go back to a frame containing "emptymc" it no longer has the jpg.Is there a way I can keep the jpg loaded in emptymc without having to load it again?

These are the steps I have taken.. 1) create MC, named "holder" 2) within first frame of MC, entered in.. loadMovie("home.swf","holder"); Nothing is showing, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. View 2 RepliesI am working on my first flash website and have been working on loadMovie & unloadMovie. The commands have been working for me and it will load & unload the external .swf in a contentHolderMC. The problem that I am encountering is the loaded .swf width is correct but the height is being reduced, I would guess to about 75%. Is there a way to maintain the external .swf's size? Even if I need to put the code into the external .swf.
I have tried creating a mask inside the contentHolderMC to match the size of the external .swf. When I have looked around for clues to the resizing, I am finding tutorials on how to resize the external .swf into a smaller Movie Clip. That's not what I am trying to do.

Now If you drag and drop the container movieclip its x and y will change. If you drag and drop the pictures there x and y will change. The question is, if you drag and drop the container movieclip, how do you get the pictures x and y as if they were on the stage and not inside the movieclip? I've been stuck on this one a while. I've created a simple picture slide show whiich works fine on Dreamweaver. However, when I throw it onto the server it doesn't display on the website. I've checked everything and i'm pretty sure all is in order so i'm baffled as to what I'm missing. It's probably something simple that I simply don't know. The Flash file is a .swf. It's saved in the root folder. It works fine when off-line. When online nothing appears (area where the the Flash file should be remains clear).

I have a .jpg in the library linked to Actionscript as "npc10". At a certain point in my code, I try to attach this to a movie clip using attachMovie(). But nothing happens. So I've tested with another MovieClip instead of the .jpg. It works! I've also tried attachBitmap() with a simple bitmap. That works, too! Then I try attachBitmap with the .jpg. Nothing.[code]...
