Mar 20, 2010

My problem is that when I click the letter movieclip it does create the duplicate as it should and it starts to drag the duplicate mc. However, when I release the clip it doesn't stop dragging? I realized that if I put onMouseUP event instead of onRelease it actually does stop dragging when I release the mouse. I would, however not like to use the onMouseUP event if possible.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Make The Text Balloon Appear On Mouseover?

Feb 3, 2007

I made a worldmap which is a movieclip, and inside that worldmap I create dynamicly project icons which contain a text balloon with some short information about that project.The problem I'm facing is that I want to make the text balloon appear on mouseover, and when I press the movieclip, it goes to another page.I've been trying this for a while but I can't find a good solution, onRollOver and onPress on movieclips won't work, and I have no clue how else I could do it. The reason why I add them inside the worldmap is because I want to zoom in and out or move the map in certain directions.when I zoom in and out on the map, the icons become largers as well. How can I make it so that the icons always stay the same size?

The flashmx8 file can be found at: http:[url]....

The code is at the first layer called "scripts" in the first frame.

The code for adding dynamicly dots onto the map is at line: 72 and the code for zooming starts at line: 131, and basicly the whole actionscript is in the first frame to keep it easy and mobile to tweak the whole application.

I'm currently working on this project using AC3 which is why I'm posting here.duplicate the drag and dropped movie clip at the point where it is being dropped. I've tried following the other threads related to this .

-The items being dragged and dropped will have a copy of it at the point where it is dropped.

-At the spot where it is being picked up, it must still remain in that same spot.

-The copies that are dropped is able to move, but not able to duplicate.

Flash :: Error Message Boxes On Duplicate Drag In CS5.5

May 13, 2011

I wanted to report a problem I've been having with Flash CS5.5 on MacOS 10.5.8 When I drag an element (usually a line or shape) with the alt key pressed (in order to create a duplicate on the stage) sometimes I get a couple of message boxes appear that say "Panel x could not be created removing it from the list" where x is a number like 7 or 9. After I click through these the swatches panel appears in the middle of the screen.

This is quite annoying and holds me up as I have to click through these boxes & then close the swatches panel.

i have been trying to get this to work forever. What im doing here is making a flash site thats like a real time strategy game. You have to build stuff in order to unlock new sections of the site. check out this: [URL] click on build, then drag the Main button and release somewhere above. Notice that when you release it sticks to the cursor and doesnt stop dragging. Now, hit cancel and notice that the main clip is still loaded and works correctly if you drag and drop it.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Drag And Drop To Multiple Targets And Duplicate Movieclip

Dec 8, 2009

I have a full page calendar that uses a duplicate movieclip to add the day squares (actionscript adds the day number)

I want to add a target to that "day" movieclip. (I can do this)

Now the part i don't know how to code:

I want to add a star at the top that can be dragged to the target "day". BUT... On any of the days and multiple days.

So i guess the star needs to duplicate movieclip and be able to drag and drop to any of the targets. The target is on a duplicate movieclip itself so the instance name will need to be the same on all days (or i could have it append 1,2.3 ect to the end of the instance name like: target_mc1, target_mc2...)

ActionScript 2.0 :: Duplicate MovieClip With Every Click

Nov 28, 2004

I have this script on a button:
Code:
on (release) {
kast0.duplicateMovieClip("kast"+(num+1), 0);
this["kast"+(num+1)]._x = kast0._x+((num+1)*15);
this["kast"+(num+1)]._y = kast0._y;
num++;
}

And this in frame one:
num = 0;
"kast0" is a MC, that I want to duplicate (with every click), so there would be many of those in a row. But that script "erases" the "kast1" if it creates "kast2" currently I have my fla with only one frame and there is no other actions.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Duplicate Click And Dragged Objects?

At the same time, I also want the original copy to stay in position so I will only need to click and drag on the original copy to create the duplicates.I got the code from the net (I'm no pro in this). What I did was, convert the object into a button, then into a movie clip. Double-clicked the movie clip, I inserted the following code on the movie clip:

Flash - Programmatically Draw A Scalable, Curved Comic-book Balloon Tail?

Aug 13, 2010

As a UI specialist, I am often asked to build tool-tip displays and other sorts of popups that display text. One of styles clients seem most keen on is text in a comic-book balloon. I would like to create this balloons programmatically (as opposed to embedding or linking to rendered graphics), because these balloons will have to change size at runtime, depending on how much text they have to hold.

Balloons are easy to draw for the most part: circles, rectangles or rounded-corner rectangles. The tough part, for me, is the tail (the little arrow-like part of the comic balloon that points towards the speaker). If you google comic balloon, you see that there are many varieties of tails. They ones clients request from me most often are curved. E.g...

[URL]

The tail will always be on the bottom of the balloon, and it will sometimes point left and sometimes point right. I have been trying to come up with tail-drawing algorithms for a while, but I'm not happy with the results. I'm basically stumbling around in the dark, changing variables, looking at the results, and using trial and error to try to move closer to the magic numbers that will work. "Work" just means a result that looks pleasing, which I realize is subjective. Most of my clients will be a happy with anything that looks reasonably good and professional.

I want this result to scale. And it would be great if it could work with as few inputs as possible, maybe just isFacingLeft, tailWidth and tailHeight (Which could maybe be a percentage of the whole balloon). Maybe an adjustable curveAmount.

If it matters, I'm using Flash/Actionscript, but any system that has some sort of turtle graphics engine should work pretty much the same way: I'm working with that standard flipped Cartesian grid (y increases downward), x and y coordinates, the ability to move a pen, draw lines and draw curves.One caveat: Flash only allows me to draw 3-point bezier curves -- start point, control point, end point.

Note: balloons won't have to scale after the are drawn.
