It's supposed to keep the same buffer on each side and stay centered. It works fine with this code

Is there a way of scrolling (shifting) a movie clip so that a part of it continuously shifts to the other side, i.e. when you scroll the movie clip to the left, the portion that scrolled out appears on the right (like a picture on a rotating drum). Of course in AS 2.0

all this does is move the mc over to the left 50 px and down 50 px weather it is out side of the stage or with in the stage the parentmc is loaded dynamicly then placed in several postions, some are in the middle of the stage and dont need moved some are close to the edge of the stage and are being cut off

View 1 RepliesI am creating a navigation bar in Flash (which will then be used in Dreamweaver). When you mouse over each topic in menu (ex. Products), i want it play a movie clip (so it shoots out a sub-menu underneath). so far so good, but the only thing is, the sub-menu won't stay open in order for me to click on buttons in it. For each button, I assigned it the Behavior to go to a url. Also, I tested the buttons within the mc and they don't seem to direct me to url. do you think maybe it's because it's nested within the movie clip?? Is there an easier way to go about this?

I am on a tight deadline and looking for the AS3 code of how to do what this company does on their site:URL...However, I don't know AS3.Literally my project requires I recreate the what is shown with the hand holding the sharpie and moving only back and forth restricted to a centered rectangular area at the bottom of the screen.I know how to import the image that follows the mouse to the stage, and to make it a movieclip. View 5 RepliesI'm making a room escape game and I've run into a problem. When an item gets added to the inventory, I'd like the user to be able to click on the item to affect another object (e.g. clicking screwdriver hides screws and displays other image) however when I add the code to the item, if the item is clicked and it's nowhere near the object it affects, the image pops up and it looks really stupid.
So what I'd like to be able to do, possibly using if and else statements or whatever's easiest, is to only have the inventory item be clickable if the movie clip of the object is affects is visible on the stage.

I have a site with a container clip which all other content loads into. When one movie loads, it has a button that I'd like to be able to click to go to another page in the site (ie. unload it's parent movie and load another swf into the same container clip.
How can I address the parent container clip and tell it to unload this movie and load another swf into it?
I have two buttons assigned like this:

If my picture takes up the area where the buttons are, the buttons slip underneath the image. How can I make the buttons stay on top all the time? My movie works fine as long as the picture that I load from a nearby directory does not cover the buttons..

View 7 Repliesi have 2 movie clip in different layer but in the same frame (e.g 0 to 10). i have: 1st movie clip contains a red circle that will animate from left to right. 2nd movie clip contains a blue circle that will animate from right to left. i have 2 square buttons (a green and black) that will control the two movie. all i want to do is if i press black square button the 1st movie will play but not the 2nd movie even though they are in the same frame?
and yes i want the 1st/2nd movie to stay after the either of two movie played that's why i put them in the same frame size.
I have a bunch of movieclips which constantly do the following:

as in bring themselves on top. I want a movie clip to always stay blocking them, without adding it to the stage every frame, which is unnecessary memory usage.
Animation of the head that comes up with the crank on it is 15 frames long. The head stops at frame 15, and it begins to crank at frame 16. Do I make a keyframe at frame 16 of that still crank at its begininng position, double click it to get its own timeline, then import the other 7 images of the crank animation into this seperate timeline, animate its cycle, then go back to the main time line at frame 16 and it should play the cycle when the main timeline hits frame 16? What if I want the cycle to only crank once around and not loop? Then, what happens to this movie clip when frame 17, 18 20, 30 is playing? It takes say 2 seconds to play the crank animation so while the play head is going along after frame 16, and the crank is moving what is in its place on the main timeline after frame 16? Should I just put frames in for the length of the rest of the animation (brain and words coming out of the head)?

I want both objects to be buttons to link to a website and to emailI'm not sure how to go about doing this, it seems once an object converted to a movie symbol it cannot be a button at the same time. View 2 RepliesThis is hard to explain. Basically the user needs to choose their sex and type in their name then press the continue button. The gender selection is a bathroom identificationesque picture of a girl and boy. The boy is blue and the girl is pink. When you roll over the boy, it becomes a lighter blue and when you roll over the girl it becomes a lighter boy.
What I don't know how to do is that when you click on the boy, it stays a lighter blue, and lighter pink for the girl. That way they can see what selection they made. Also, when you click the boy then click the girl, the girl will become highlighted and the boy no longer will be (so you can only choose one gender). How do I do this? And how do I tell the program to store the info for later use? (when gender is important). I know that this type of action is used often in games so hopefully someone can help me.

this will make your movie clip bounce. that i need to know is why does it bounce. i cant quite get my head around it. i start of and accelerate, hit 300 on the stage but then go up decreasing my speed by 0.8 every frame..
