I have a part of a movie that I want to make it scrollable. for example I have a square, and put it things (text fields)when it fills the square I want to make the square scroll. for example in this fla (test.fla)....in the 5th frame the 'hi' get's out of the square...and I want to scoll.

I have the code to copy parts of a huge loaded BitmapData to a target BitmapData that is just the size that I can display. I think I have set the scroll bars of an enclosing Canvas to show the size of the larger image and allow the user to scroll. Now I need to put the selected pixels on the screen. When I try to add a Bitmap component as a child of the Canvas, it get an error because Bitmap is not a UIComponent. What's the best way to put the target BitmapData into an Image component?

I have a Canvas control with a fixed width and a horizontal scrollbar.I'm trying to find the actual width of the control.The .width (fixed width) + the part being revealed by the scrollbar.I tried explicitWidth, width + maxHorizontalScrollPosition, and some other combos but non of them hit the spot.
I'm working on a project where I need to make a scrollable textarea. But it needs a little perspective.. like the star wars intro text, but not so extreme.

View 2 RepliesI used the tut on here to make my own photogallery with scrollable thumbnails and have run into a snag. My thumbnails share the same height but vary in width and, for some reason, are overlapping and/or appearing in the incorrect order.As you can see the first 4 thumbs and the 6th thumb are okay (they share the same width) whereas the 5th is missing (actually it is about 10 thumbs down, overlapped with another). On this circle i have some kinda thing which points the button of where the users mouse is on. So each time the users chooses anothe button, the pointer has to rotate to that button. View 3 RepliesI have a replay button that is already working great, but I want the arrow part of the button to spin in the 'Over' state. What I tried was creating a looped frame. I went inside the button itself, (button composed of an arrow symbol and text). I then went to the 'Over' state and went to edit the arrow symbol itself.when I drag the playheader in there, it seems to loop just fine, but when I export it it's not working.

Basically, I want that part to be a shadow or highlight or background or whatever you'd like to call it.It's done somehow with drop shadows but I want to have finer control than using filters.Example code:

Take a look at this demo, how do they accomplish the Inline Changes feature? To me it looks like they are floating a movieclip over the textarea. What I can't figure out is how they anchored the movieclip to stay in the correct position. If you type something before the movieclip it moves position along with the text, the movieclips even move to the next line when the text word wraps. Does anyone have an idea?
View 1 RepliesI'm using Adobe Flash CS4 for the first time to try and make an animation set to music (like the opening scene of an anime). I need to listen to specific portions of the song so that I can match the timing of my animations.
I know that you can press Enter and it'll Play, but I don't know how to start listening to the music at the frame I want. I also don't know how to stop the music once it starts playing.
I also know I can do Ctrl+Enter to Test Movie, but that always starts playing my animation from the very beginning.
I want to know how to watch/listen to a specific part of the animation, without having to play it stop to finish.
I have a .flv movie file that I purchased from Istockphoto.com. I have placed it in my Flash CS3 file, and it works fine. However, once it plays, it loops back to the beginning, and I would prefer to loop it at the last 5 seconds of frames, so that it doesn't replay the entire video. Can this be done with Flash actionscripting or do I need to somehow do it in a video editor? Which wouldn't be ideal, as it would make a much larger file size.

I have set the movie size to 800x1200, but would only like to see the top 800x600 in the browser window for some scenes (the reason for this is that one scene might have very little content, while other scenes could have a lot). Is that possible? I guess that either it's impossible or it's dead simple...

View 1 RepliesI have a flash menu (125 px x 600 px) on the left of a webpage. It consists of (15) buttons each of them havin' a onMouseOver-->getURL. When the mouse enters the flash movie (that is the menu) there is a mask button that moves along the y axis and when you move to a button in the menu the mask moves to that point. When you click on it it opens the URL in your browser. Now the problem is that when you leave the flash movie (menu) I want the mask to go to the upper part of the movie (menu).How can I do that?
View 3 RepliesWithin my flash file, some of the layers/objects go off of the sides of the document as I want them to. When I play the file within the test movie function within flash, the file plays fine and none of the layers that extend of the document cause problems(the samething happens when I play it in flash player). But when I open the file in a web broswer the layers that extended off the edges of the document show up. Is there anyway to get rid of this without having to redo the whole file? (ie, crop around the main document size, or set it to export only everything within the document and nothing that extends off of it?)

By default the whole background of the application remains blur, but I want the second VBox to be visible. Is this possible? If yes how can i accomplish this?
