I'm wanting to do a calendar and I want it to highlight the current day of the month.I have no idea how to do this and make the calendar update itself for the upcoming month.
View 14 RepliesI am working on the Google Calendar API which has been built for Flex/AIR. In the API, for performing a Delete or Update operation, it uses DELETE or PUT methods in the URLRequest. But I think these being REST based calls are supported in AIR. I am using this API in a Flash/AS3 application and have successfully implemented the Update functionality by using X-HTTP-Method-Override method for PUT and instead using POST, which is supported in Flash. But when I try to do the same thing for Delete method, I get a 401 error in the API call.

Should I just bring it straight into flash with PHP, or should I use PHP to convert it to XML and then bring it to flash?

I am trying to make an interactive calendar. I would like the day to be highlighted when it opens. The highlight is a movie clip with a number for the instance name.

It's not working and I'm not sure why. I could easily be going about it ALL wrong. I suspect that it being an onClipEvent is an error. Can't I just getDate and setProperty?
I have attached the file. Once I understand how this works I can duplicate it for loading the correct month and year.
make a PHP, mySQL, Flash calendar. I want to do this to teach myself a little bit about all three of these things. I know a little about all of them, but I don't really understand how to use them all together. I have searched around the forums, and kirupa, and the web in general and I am having trouble with a few things. First of all let's say I have 3 different fields in my table. Date, Event, and Description. How can I pull each record with PHP? Do I have to pull them one field at a time, or can I just pull the whole record, and send it straight to flash via PHP?

I know only basic html and no javascript. I just found this embed code somewhere and It works good except It won't prompt the user to update if user has lower version of flash!The second piece of code is some code i use for regular embedding. This version updates user's flash content if needed.I have tried to incorporate those two to make the first version have the update function but I'm sitting for hours at my comp and can't figure it out since my html and java knowledge is very poor.[code]
View 2 RepliesI think I must be missing a step here; I have different data being pulled from an array created from xml depending on a variable (_currentTrackNum).. and the data changes if I set a different initial value for it; but if I change the variable once the program is initialized, none of the data changes even though I rerun the call with the changed variable.[code]

I have noted this effect being used in many other sites.. And none of them seem to employ flash for making this. Please let me know whether this is just JS or whether its purely a CSS based effect, and probably a place where i can read on how to make this.
Whats the best way to make a 'live update' visit counter? For example: One person opens the site with the visit counter, and as soon as another one visits, the counter updates on the first users screen.

The flash player has a little window that can be opened (similar to flash->settings) telling the user to update the player if the movie loaded is for a more recent version. How can you instruct the player to do this? ITV have managed it with their catchup-tv player.
Context: I am allowing users to copy flash into their PowerPoint presentations and would like to tell them to update their flash player if necessary. I am not embedding a web page in the power point so no JS can be run for checking etc (because I know this is not necessary).

I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers. Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin. But now my Problem: After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working) I figured the Updater works like this: First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins. First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled. But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error. This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before) How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?

View 2 RepliesI'm having my first go at creating a custom component that lays out items in a grid. I have made a selection of inspectable properties accessed though getter/setter methods. Some of these parameters are dynamic, and change when the user resizes the component or changes another linked value. Is it possible to make the parameters panel update with the new values when a change takes place. Without this, the user will not have accurate feedback on the values stored in the component. Does anyone know if this is possible (or difinitely impossible)?

i have a big assignment to schedule in the end of the month/ i've made a game which made of pictures and videos (flv), and when i've inserted the third flv movie i tried to test my project. and when i have exported it, it reaches the end and just doing nothing: no errors, no file, just nothing. my project is on 1920X1080 resolution, i have 23 videos of 10 seconds each, that i need to insert, and the quality is 1500 bits.the first two inserted movies succeeded, but from the third and above, nothing happend.

This works fine. However, I am attempting to change the targetDate by retrieving the last day of the month and counting down to that. Right now it counts to christmas. I know how to get the last day of the month through PHP, so I was thinking I could send the variables to the flash document and somehow replace 11,25 with $n (which is the month variable in my php) ,$lastday .

In my site I need to have the date available for viewers. I know how to display the date of the user and I would like to create an onion skin animation for each separate chatacter(yes, I know how to create an onion skin animation but not how to do it separate for each character). My problem is this: I want to display the name of the month, not the number. Now I want each character animated separately in the date animation. for example:
S would appear with an onion skin animation, then about a quarter second later all the other characters with the same animation, E, P, T, E, M, B, E, R, [space], 2, 4, [space], 2, 0, 0, 2. How can I code actionscript so that I can do this with the user's date? Sorry for my lack of description, its late and I can't think well.
I am using this code to get the months off of the users computer and it then highlights what ever day it is, also it is dynamic. However what if I would like to call up a just july or just november. I know how to make arrows that get the next month in the sequence but my question is could I change the script to just get a month of my choosing?

Setting the month directly to February via setMonth(1) actually sets the month to March.
Here's the code in question:

That will trace "2" in the output. Setting the month to 0.9 will output "0", and setting the month to 1.1 will still output "2". It seems all other months are fine, except this one.
