Make Swfobject Prompt For Flash Update?

I know only basic html and no javascript. I just found this embed code somewhere and It works good except It won't prompt the user to update if user has lower version of flash!The second piece of code is some code i use for regular embedding. This version updates user's flash content if needed.I have tried to incorporate those two to make the first version have the update function but I'm sitting for hours at my comp and can't figure it out since my html and java knowledge is very poor.[code]

I have a game that will work better in Flash Player 11 (with Molehill) but also works in 10.3. I am using a s:TextInput in Flex 4.5. It shows it's prompt text if the underlying text value is null or empty String. Does anybody know if I can make either don't show the prompt on empty String or even show a different prompt?

I was able to gather info on how to test and display users OS and FP version. However this info is "dormant" it is just being displayed on the screen.Does anyone know how to make an alert message to upgrade to the current Flash Player if a user runs the lower version?

I'm making a Flash game which will be up on Facebook, I'm using Python/Django on the backend but to talk to Facebook. I use the Facebook Flash API. The problem is when I ask for extended permission from the user, using FBML. I get a link which I have to click and get the permission. How can I make sure a popup appears instead of the link. The flash player has a little window that can be opened (similar to flash->settings) telling the user to update the player if the movie loaded is for a more recent version. How can you instruct the player to do this? ITV have managed it with their catchup-tv player.
Context: I am allowing users to copy flash into their PowerPoint presentations and would like to tell them to update their flash player if necessary. I am not embedding a web page in the power point so no JS can be run for checking etc (because I know this is not necessary).

With swfobject 2.2, how do you specify the desired version of flash you require? I need flash 10, but swfobject won't perform an upgrade install with the provided expressInstall. swf in the swfobject 2.2 distributable. How do I get an upgrade install to occur for flash 10?

Is it possible to make a link with a .swf flash file, using swfObject? I would like the entire video to be a clickable link... I'm out of ideas on how to make it happen., on the left thumbnails, do you see how they got a swf object to be a link?Anyone know the principle behind this? How would I do it? I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers. Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin. But now my Problem: After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working) I figured the Updater works like this: First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins. First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled. But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error. This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before) How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?

I am using uploadify which uses a flash uploader. If the user doesn't have flash installed nothing shows except a blank white page.point me in the right direction of some code to prompt the user to download flash, similar to a <noscript> coding.

I got Facebook to work with Flash as I wanted it to using the Facebook-Actionscript-Api. Works great and I got get Graph api working so that I'm able to post stuff to ppl's walls using the Facebook.api("/me/feed") post stuff without asking the user permission, as it's already got that permission, and it's great for many occasions. But not all.

counter++ updates once,
but counter+2 gives you some kind of error.
counter+1 also gives you error.

I have a parent swf called Main.swf that loads a child Registration.swf via a regular loader class then adds it to the stage. This child has a webcam function that captures an image but before that happens it prompts the user for permission to allow the webcam to be turned on. The problem I'm having is that in my IDE the prompt works like a charm and continues through to capturing image data. When I plop the files on a live server it fails. A friend recommended that it's most likely an issue with how I'm requesting permission from the child, so instead I'm calling an event to the parent telling IT to prompt and still no luck. Having the same issues. Note: The parent .swf was published as Player 9 and the child is in Player 10. I had to do it this way because each package has dependencies that require it.

My Flash app calls:
Facebook.ui("pay.prompt", data, onPayCallback, "iframe");
which works correctly on all browsers, until a recent change in the embedding of the swf file. I now use wmode="window" which gives much better performance in IE (previously I used "opaque").When the facebook credits popup appears, the game is now hidden as expected. It returns correctly when the popup is closed. However, on IE (version 9, other versions are untested) the callback is never called.

I think I must be missing a step here; I have different data being pulled from an array created from xml depending on a variable (_currentTrackNum).. and the data changes if I set a different initial value for it; but if I change the variable once the program is initialized, none of the data changes even though I rerun the call with the changed variable.[code]

I have noted this effect being used in many other sites.. And none of them seem to employ flash for making this. Please let me know whether this is just JS or whether its purely a CSS based effect, and probably a place where i can read on how to make this.

I'm using swfobject to inject my swf. My SWF basically initiates a webcam and prompts the user for access to the cam. Problem is whenever I center align the div that contains the swf object the Allow/Deny button seems to be unresponsive/not clickable. It's the oddest thing.

I'm writing an simple application (with adobe flash) that runs on client PC and save user state data in XML file in same directory of app. When i use FileReference it shows a user dialog for saving file. Is there any class to save just XML data directly into XML file?
I think writing just XML (text plane) data couldn't make any security problems?

i have some dynamic text inside a moive clip which is supposed to hold the users' mouse x/y.my code is

my problem is how can i make the clip update itself so that everytime the mouse moves the code will change?

I've got a movieclip, which has got a dynamic text element.The movieclip uses a package for its codeThe package if obviously derived from the MovieClip classI've got a timer, that updates the dynamic text field every second.When debugging the code, I see that the timer works well. Its updates the value of the dynamic text field.
