The button (or graphic) I want to become active has instance name of "sockcircle_btn" The button you click to make it appear is called "sock_btn"
In the first frame of the sockcircle_btn layer, this is my code

The file is setup to loop between frames 2-3. But the sockcircle_btn never enables even when sock_btn is clicked.

When a person clicks the red button the box turns red, green button turns the box green, etc. My question is I would like the text color of the box to appear under the box according to what button they press. Here is my code to turn the box red. What line would i add to have the word Red show up under the box when the red button is clicked. Do I type the word Red and make it a movie clip? Then what?

Mar 15, 2011This is hard to explain. Basically the user needs to choose their sex and type in their name then press the continue button. The gender selection is a bathroom identificationesque picture of a girl and boy. The boy is blue and the girl is pink. When you roll over the boy, it becomes a lighter blue and when you roll over the girl it becomes a lighter boy.
What I don't know how to do is that when you click on the boy, it stays a lighter blue, and lighter pink for the girl. That way they can see what selection they made. Also, when you click the boy then click the girl, the girl will become highlighted and the boy no longer will be (so you can only choose one gender). How do I do this? And how do I tell the program to store the info for later use? (when gender is important). I know that this type of action is used often in games so hopefully someone can help me.

Oct 23, 2011For my Prototyping class I have to make an interactive fast food ordering system. I have majority of frames made I just need to add the interactive part to it. I am using AS2 in Flash CS3. I have the picture and the text grouped and are classified as a button. I want to make it so that when the picture or text is clicked it will make a black box appear around it, making it 'selected'. I've tried to add an Event Listener but couldn't figure out how to make the box appear on it.
These pictures are basically what I'm trying to accomplish.

I have assigned the previous button on one page to attach the movie of the page previous to it and then tested my movie. However when i click the previous button the movieclip does load but loads behind the starting moveiclip. So what i want to do is when the previous button is cliked, that page (movieclip) with the previous button on its dissappears and the previous page loads.

Apr 27, 2011I'm aware this sounds quite involved, but would it be possible to make a Flash button counter that would store the number of clicks (that it displays) on a remote server; so even if the page was closed and re-opened it would still show "2" or "11" for example. In addition to that, would it be possible to only allow one click per IP address? So for example, one specific IP address (user) couldn't keep clicking it over and over and increasing the number.
The reason I wanted to use a Flash object as opposed to something like jQuery was because I want to embed it on a forum that isn't mine. Obviously I don't have access to the site's files/modules etc. Essentially it's almost like the Facebook "like button." It displays the number of likes, as well is storing the value on a remote server.

Feb 7, 2007I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?

Dec 3, 2010I am trying to make a frame around a picture that the user uploads using only 1 image repeating it and scaling it accordingly so that it is as big as it should be in reality arround that picture. My problem is that when I scale the result until some point all is well and than it smears somehow. I've been trying to fix this for 6 days now and I am desperate. I am posting the code that I use tho create the frame parts and a picture of the result after I scale it with scaleX and scaleY.
