ActionScript 2.0 :: Making A Mc Inside A Dup Mc A Button?

I have a mc that is duplicated. the duplicates have stuff in them. One of these things is another mc. I want that mc to trigger the onRollOver and onRollOut functions for the shell mc (the one that houses the mc that has the rollover/out actions), and I want it to have a hit area of only that inner mc, not the whole shell mc. How can I achieve this?here's my code:

I'm pretty much a beginner at creating websites in flash. I've used flash to animate before but that's not really worling in this case. I have a button inside another button which is inside a movieclip. *whew*I have it so that when you click on the movieclip, a dialog box pops up. I have two buttons on the dialog box, but for some reason you can't click on them and when you do, the dialog box just disappears. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about, so how do i get the "YES/NO" buttons to work? Oh, the buttons are not included in that Graphic

how I can make a certain code that works on the time line, work when placed inside of a MC? I know my question is too vague but my code is huge and if I post it it's going to be more difficult than if I can just get the logic and change the code my self.

So, this is my thought-process:
First, I make an Array to hold all my Buttons. Then I make a loop and throw all the instances of the Buttons inside.
ActionScript Code:

Every works up to here and looks pretty sweet. Then things get tricky. I would like to be able to create Text, specifically tlf, as part of the instances of the Buttons, so that when I mouseOver the text is grows and shrinks proportionally with the Button. I'm stumped, and exhausted my knowledge of AS3. I tried to make a separate array with TLFTextFields, and things just got funky. I am using TLFTextField, because there is an option to make them read-only. Somehow I need to make them inside the Buttons.

How do I make the actions contained in a movieclip work on the main timeline? For example. In the movieclip, I have some buttons and I have an "Actions" layer there which contains all the functions of the buttons, listeners and such.
I placed this movieclip on Frame 1 of the main timeline.
When I run the program, I'm able to hover my mouse over the buttons and it changes to a "finger" cursor as if they can be clicked on, however, when I click the buttons, nothing happens. It's as if it's not recognizing the Mouse Click event listeners I put on the buttons in the "Actions" layer of the movieclip.

So I'm creating this flash game for our company's 2010 halloween greeting card and I'm having some problems.All it is an swf that has balloons randomly moving upward.Each balloon is a movie clip that has another "button" movie clip inside of it. As you click on each balloon, the balloon pops and then recreates itself. The only problem is that the button inside the balloon is not acting like a button the entire time.
The upward movement is being called through an enterFrame event listener and the use of the button goes in and out as the balloon moves upward. It's a pain because you have to click the balloon multiple times in order to get the balloon to pop. Does anyone know why this is or if there is an alternative to enterFrame?

how do we refer the submenubutton which hasbeen masked inside a movie clip.

mainBtn3 is present inside "mm " movie clip . and on click of it I am able to move to another frame using below code . But, if there is a sub menu for the button , and if I am referring it as below [mm.btn3sub1] and trying to move to another frame . I am getting following error

is there any way I can link a button inside a MC on frame1 to a frame inside another MC that is located on another frame.Ive got 2 frames in total. On the first frame Ive got an Mc and inside this one Ive got a button that needs to be linked to frame number 50 which is inside a MC located on frame number 2.

I have flip_mc which contains listSide_mc and videoInfoSide_mc both of the above mc's contain a button name spin_btn.My flip_mc should rotate around the y axis and swapping whichever of the 2 (listSide_mc and videoInfoSide_mc) should be visible.All the rotating and adding a child stuff works fine.BUT the whole flip_mc seems to be a button, the spinIt function runs when I click anywhere on the mc, it should only happen when I click the spin_btn buttons.[code]

I got a button there, but the URL wont go, ie, the click does nothing.I imported a PSD layered image to Flash CS3, into a new blank layer. I need basically an area of this PSD to be "image mapped" so what I did was create a rectangle with the rect tool, over the area I needed the hot spot.Here I tried to do a transparent box and border (alpha 0) but the outline is still there even though the box is "empty." I did select the transparent box, no color, and tried alpha, both same result)I made that into a symbol, then I double clicked into there to fill in the key pts for the over, hit, etc., states.... I dont have any effects here btw, as simple as we can get.After that I right clicked on the buttonand entered the action script ("reserve" is the name of my button symbol)

i have a friend who are dentist and ive agreed to do a web site for him. I do it in cs4. Like so: ive made a pretty simple and nice layout i plan to use for all pages with some images an so on .Now ive made lots of buttons wich all opens in a timeline nice and slow (not to slow). On the index page i have a menu called "treatments" wich requir some room. I want to make a button called "treatments" wich can open and collaps to 3-4 minor buttons wich then again can link to diffrent pages describing different treatments. Now i need the treatment button to open up the 3-4 minor buttons one by one smooth(tweened with the alpha slider) with same frame rate as the other ones on the page and collaps again.

which gave no errors on validation.When I preview in Flash, everything looks good except the thin black border and the fact that when the button is pressed, nothing happens.

I've made a mask with a FLVPlayback inside and with a sliding bar that appears when I make rollover in the FLVPlayback. All working well. I want to put some simple controls in the sliding bar like pause or play, but I can't access the buttons because they are inside a first button ( the FLVPlayback ) that triggers the sliding bar. I have made a button to function like a switch in that it has both an on and off state. However, I can only get it to switch between the on and off state once when it's pressed, with nothing happening after it has been turned off.The code is as follows:
