Apr 12, 2012I am developing a paint board application using flash builder. User can draw some shapes objects(ellipse, circle, rectangle). I want to implement grouping/un grouping feature some like ms-word in my application. I group multiple objects by putting them inside a container(UIComponent). Now i apply resizing to container and it resize well. I am using a free object handler API to apply selection handle over the container. I want to resize and reposition all children with respect to container changed size. Every thing goes well until all children inside container are having rotation = 0. But if there is any child which is having rotation >0 and <0 things goes worse. The child resize but not in a proper manner. I stretch the parent container width and it increase the height of rotated child. Is there any way using Matrix class or something else to transform all children in same direction and same ratio respective to container?

Dec 31, 2007I have a 400x300 area that needs to detect a rollover and animate several buttons, text fields, etc. sliding into it when the mouse rolls into the area so that they can be manipulated, and animate them sliding out when the mouse rolls out of the area to hide them from view. What is the best way to do this? The only way I have got it to work so far is by using a listener to track mouse position, but it's not reliable since you can move the mouse quickly in some areas of the movie and the listener doesn't catch it.

Dec 27, 2010In one of our project we are using flex for front end, blazeds/java in the backend. Its an existing code where services are prewritten. I have to make calls to 3 services in the backend (basically 3 remote objects) and get their result and store the result in an object and show the data of this object in a view.
Now in front end we are using Flex and Parsley Framework. I was thinking of the following approaches.
1) Making commands for each service call and storing the result in a shared object (model) and then displaying this model in the view. In this approach the problem is some services are needed in some other web pages, but they donot need the same model. How should i handle this scenario ? Should i make a asynchronous remote call and fetch the result and then again dispatch and event with the event object storing the result.
2) Making a service call , wait for the result then make another call and wait for the result and then make other call, not sure if this is the right way ?

I want that mc to trigger the onRollOver and onRollOut functions for the shell mc (the one that houses the mc that has the rollover/out actions), and I want it to have a hit area of only that inner mc, not the whole shell mc. First, I make an Array to hold all my Buttons. Then I make a loop and throw all the instances of the Buttons inside.

Every works up to here and looks pretty sweet. Then things get tricky. I would like to be able to create Text, specifically tlf, as part of the instances of the Buttons, so that when I mouseOver the text is grows and shrinks proportionally with the Button. I'm stumped, and exhausted my knowledge of AS3. I tried to make a separate array with TLFTextFields, and things just got funky. I am using TLFTextField, because there is an option to make them read-only. Somehow I need to make them inside the Buttons.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Making Actions Inside A Movieclip Work?
May 25, 2010How do I make the actions contained in a movieclip work on the main timeline? For example. In the movieclip, I have some buttons and I have an "Actions" layer there which contains all the functions of the buttons, listeners and such.
I placed this movieclip on Frame 1 of the main timeline.
When I run the program, I'm able to hover my mouse over the buttons and it changes to a "finger" cursor as if they can be clicked on, however, when I click the buttons, nothing happens. It's as if it's not recognizing the Mouse Click event listeners I put on the buttons in the "Actions" layer of the movieclip.

What I want, however, is to insert such an mp3 player into a projector file that I've created.I've got 10 keyframes, each with a different slide. Sep 6, 2010I have a character, every body part is a movieclip. Now I wanted to put a movieclip for the eyes inside of the headmovieclip so that I can change them independently from the mouth. So in the eye-movieclip that is inside of the head-movieclip I put two keyframes, one for opened eyes and one for closed eyes. I put it to "Single frame" in properties. Now, whenever I make a pose and I change the frame number under properties so that it displays the closed eyes, it does that for the whole movie, not only on the frames that I changed it.
I wanted to use that to control things like eyes, ears and the mouth individually but like this it won't work, it changes it for the whole animation.

Jan 30, 2012I'm working on a Flash project that deals with multiple files. There is a main file that loads in individual SWF files as they click on different buttons. The course has dynamic text Fields that are populated via XML. So right now, my idea is to give each page it's own XML file? Would this be better suited to have one single XML file for all the pages, and the container file or multiple files?
Also, this is going to be a multilingual project. EDIT: The XML files will just be storing text information to populate the text fields, and some links to load in images. Also, the loaded SWFs will never be accessed without the use of the main "container" SWF.

In Video 1, she shows how to stream a single file. I've done everything to the letter on this video, however, when she uses the videoplayer to reference the livestream.f4m file, there is none. I've actually checked the folder location(apploications/livepkgr/streams/_definst_/livestream and there are files in there (.f4f and .f4x), but no .f4m which is the file she references in the video player.
In Video 2, she shows how to create a multi-bitrate video stream. Using the manifest packager and creating a .f4m and .m3u8 package and placing it in the webroot folder. Here is the contents of my liveevent.f4m file:

I want to split the username into lastname, firstname, address and some other stuff. Can we have multiple rows in the grid for one image? Tried multi-line, it works but we need to keep adding spaces and its cumbersome. Since each row in the flex datagrid is represented by one index in the XMLList which is enumerated, is there a way to have more than one row assigned to one image and shown in the grid? something like this.

Jan 25, 2011I have a swf file, which plays 6 videos one after the other in a loop. This file is very huge so it is taking more than a minute for it to start playing after the page finished loading. I have taken the original video file, and split it into 6 files. I plan to have 6 tiles in the flash file as soon as the page loads, and when some tile is clicked, the video is loaded dynamically only that video or swf file so that it saves the loading time and once this is done, i want it to revert back to the main page with tiles. I am just starting off with flash and I have no clue how this is possible in flash. I am not asking for code, i need some tips to get started.
