ActionScript 2.0 :: Multiple Popup (or Drop Down) Menus In Flash Mx?

I followed a tutorial at lynda.com about a popup menu in flash mx.The submenus were surrounded by invisible buttons so that when you rolled over them (i.e. outside of the drop down menus) the sub menus became hidden.The last bit on the tutorial said..... if you have multiple menus this would be slightly different and involves using "with".
It ended there, and that's precisely what I need.. I'd like to make 5 or 6 drop down menus closely spaced and horizontally placed across my movie.. anyone have an .fla with this? or perhaps a tutorial? I've searched everywhere...
a friend of mine wants me to change up his flash website template a bit. He has a horizontal navigation bar at the top with links but he wants me to change them into drop down menus so he can have additional links, I have the original fla files and everything too.

When i insert the flash menu it basically dosent fit into the alloted space i gave for my horizontal navigation bar, when inserted it blows apart. the only thing i could think of was resizing the flash document but then i cant see the menu expand it gets cut off,
I am making a website purely on flash (actionscript 2.0), for a school project, and I have set up one frame for each page. I also made a drop down menu, but unfortuantely I can't link them to the actual pages, since the drop down menu is a movie clip, if I use an actionscript such as:[code]it goes to the 3rd frame in the movie clip and not the main scene.
if the mouse is under the button (outside the mask) the button still activatesis there a way I can create a shape &/or script to "mask" the EventListener much like how the graphic is masked?(the space under the buttons will eventually contain random photos)

I made a drop down menu with sub menus. It is a movie clip. When I drag my movie clip menu to the main timeline I don't know how to make the buttons manipulate the main timeline. Like going to a certain frame. Everytime I put code on the movie clip, it manipulates the movie clip itself. Is there a trick to this?
i'm using the centered pop up window script from: [URL]. i have multiple buttons in my flash movie which open screenshot html pages in external browser windows. the script works fine except when a popup window stays open. the rest of the buttons don't open/replace past that one popup. i tried changing the window name in the onRelease script to screen1, screen2, etc for each button, but that didn't work.
I have designed a horizontal scrolling menu that currently contains buttons that load external swfs when pressed. Works great.What I'd like to do is have the buttons open vertical drop down menus instead of loading external files.
I have 3 menus, each with 4 different options (clickable buttons). Depending on what you selected in each of the three menus you get a specific resulting image.
I'm trying to create an xml accordion menu that has main menus and a sub menus buttons (movieClips) revealed with a mask. Simple question, How do I stop the mask area which reveals the sub menus catching mouseEvents on the submenus?The main menu button is a movieClip, it has the mask sprite attached to it as a property so it can scale dynamically to reveal the subMenus. They are set as children of the main menu button container. In my code I've set mainMenu.mouseChildern = true. But when the mainMenu is clicked I change mouseEnabeled = false to help prevent the main menu receiving events. This helps on rollOver rollOut events, but when I click or mouseDown on the subMenu the mask catches the event also and activates the main menu again. I've tried the obvious mask.mouseEnabled = false; mask.mouseChildern = false; mask.hitArea = null; and even setting mask.alpha = 0 but this has no effect at all.
I don't understand why the mask has to extend the hitArea property of the mainMenu and why this can't be set to null. It also seems crazy that when mouseChildren = true the parent clip also has to receive notice of the event.
If you create a popup via:[code]It will create a popup and bring it on top of any other visual piece. I have one problem though. This 'popup' needs to stay up even when the user interacts with the background.I would use modal, but I need the ability to interact with the back. Any way to tell the popup manager not to remove the popup when the user clicks off of it?
I'm Trying to develop a small game where the user chooses from a range of boxes of the left of screen and can drag 3 of them separatley to 3 holding boxes on ther right. each box can be dragged to any location and the order is not important. Once the 3 holding boxes are all full I want a new button to appear. I completed a tutorial and I've got one box working perfectly but no matter what i try I can't get it working with multiple boxes and locations. Below is a list of the instance names of the movie clips plus my actionscript. I've attached a link to the flash file.

I want to be able to drag any of the 4 objects onto any of the targets, right now all I can manage is to allow each object drop onto one specific target only.
I thought by calling all my target names by the same instance name eg target_mc that would work but only one target will ever work.
I have 260 images that I need to place on different frame. Instead of dragging them one by one the image on the stage, is there a way to drop all of them in one shot but each images is on a different frame?
I'm making a Multiple Drag and Drop in Multiple Targets educational puzzle for 6-7 y/o kids that tries to teach them a bit about which plants grow in which environments in the country. So, I have a map of Mexico divided in 3 diferent zones: desert, forest and tropic, and 6 different plants (of 3 different groups: cacti, pines and tropical flowers, 2 of each) scattered across the stage and around the map. The goal is for the kids to drop the plants in the right zone and then to click a "verify" button that triggers a validation process. Each of the plant's movie clip has 2 frames with a stop(); action on each: the plant graphic spans across both frames and the second frame has a red error sign over the graphic that indicates an error has occured (if that's the case). Then the validation process triggered by the "verify" button is supposed to move the playhead of each wrongly placed plant move clip to the second frame to show which plants are misplaced and move the main timeline's playhead to a frame that contains a "Please try again" text and a "Restart Puzzle" button. If all the answers are right, an animation plays saying that it was VERY WELL DONE! .
I searched the internet for some tutorials and found a file that is pretty close to what I need. I've tried to adapt the code to my puzzle but have failed miserably. The file is here if you want to check it out (scroll to the bottom of the page, it's called Soldier.fla). I'm not pasting the code here because it's VERY long, but I will if required. If you want me to upload the files somewhere else and link them here, I will. If you need me to send them to you I'll be glad.
I'm having issues with my action script in that only one of the mouseover / mouseout event works consistently which is the Mouse3Over functions. Mouse1Over function works fine on initial startup but stops working once I mouse over the 2 other images. For each gotoAndPlay, I've setup the timeline to go to that frame and play for 5 frames to show the image on the mouse over, and then on the mouse out is to go to that specific frame where i've setup to make the image disappear. After the 5 frames, on the 6th frame I added actionscript to that layer to stop();

My whole goal is to sort of do a zoomed in image of that part of the picture like you see on some websites when you mouse over a designated section of the image the close up image shows up.

I have a Bubble with a dynamic Text Field in the middle of it. I create multiple of these and have them float up. If you click it, I want the bubble to pop. Everything works, but only if you click the bubble at the edges. If you click in the middle, I get this error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
I have a swf file that my graphics designer has created for me that is placed on my intro page of my asp.net mvc website. The problem is that when the site is viewed with Internet Explorer (works as it should in firefox) the flash image sits over the top of my dropdown sub menu's (menu's at top of page that when user hovers mouse over they expand a sub menu).

I want to create a drag and drop app that will allow the user to drop mc onto either one of two correct targets.I gave the targets the same instance name but that doesn't work.The program only recognizes the first target mc created as correct.How can I make either target the correct one?
