How do i make the script recognise the answer input in all cases? For e.g
i have a text input box in which i want to insert Hebrew (RTL language) text. now, the RTL support i need is basic, and thats easy enough to do. however, for entering hebrew in the box, the user has to set hebrew in his windows language bar. is there a way of making the default input language in the box hebrew, regardless of what is currently set in the language bar? note - the hebrew characters are showing just fine, its just that to enter them you have to make sure the language bar is set to hebrew as well.

I don't recognize the language. I have no idea what I am working with. I have CS3 so I have Flash CS3. I have FTPed what I have and the URL I feel like I am out of my element.
I use a TextInput component of Flex 4.5 to enter some text in English. I use the restrict attribute to ... restrict the keyboard input to characters a-zA-Z only. The problem is that if i copy/paste a word in another language, i can then paste it into the TextInput component. Is there a way to avoid that? If no, how can i validate the input against a specified language?I found out that the unicode set of Chinese+ language symbols is u4E00 to u9FFF. So i write the following:

I am using flex to generate a lexical analyser for a custom language. The problem I am having is that as soon as I find a misformed token... I have no way to tell what other tokens follow this one. e.g.[code]Here, the stream of tokens will be id,<,>,id,<;>...... the language specifies that each token be seperated by a whitespace. So seeing a v after 1 should produce an error and the scanner has to print that error. After that, there are more legal tokens and another illegal token (~return). How do I process the rest of the legal tokens and print the second error.I am using flex as the scanner generator. When I find that none of the regular expressions for the lexeme matches, I call an error routine that prints the appropriate message.How do I resume processing after calling this routine?
View 1 RepliesI develop with Actionscript and was glad to see that AIR 2.0 was going to give access to mic input data. I planned to use this to create a visualizer set to the tempo of the incoming live audio. After doing a few days of google research it seems unlikely that it will be possible to analyze the data of the mic input in Flash/AIR. If anyone has ideas on how I can achieve this in AIR please let me know. When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.
auto scale-size the fonts to a smaller size if the user types many letters.
The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.

I'm trying to extend the text input that comes in flex to support an icon, just like mac os x search text input has a grey circle aligned to the right, the text input has a addChild method, but it didn't work for me.
View 2 Repliesthe last of many problems, is that at the very end of the test, you're shown your score, and you have the option to type your name in a text box and click "save". Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. If you click on it, the cursor appears for a split second after you release the mouse button, but you cannot type anything in it.This is the actionscript for the output form:

We are working on a small project. The movie asks you to point out an animal, then when you point it out, it enlarges it and tells you what it is using a text box as well as a voice clip. We want to make the movie bilingual. So the splash screen will have the choice "English" and "Espaeol". If the user chooses english and then clicks an animal we want the item to be identified in english. So the english text box and english sound clip to show up. if the choice is spanish we want the item identified using spanish text and voice. Heres is the AS i have so far and it works beautifully. This is from before we decided to incorporate Spanish. As it is I have the text and voice on each individual MC timeline.

Is there a way to set a flag when the spanish button is pressed? For example, pressing the spanish button will set spanish to true, and I could add some AS when a frame is reached that said something along the lines of:

I have a multilingual project (currently 13 languages), which uses many different font variations of "Helvetica Neue", mostly bold, condensed and regular cuts from the LinoType Pro font set ( which includes western european characters) and the same for cyrillic. We will probably add chinese and japanese variations in the future. I have set up the project to use different CSS stylesheets and separately load the fonts for each version, depending on which language the user selects, so I can have different line heights, kerning and/or font sizes to make everything keep the original look, even if the fonts look nothing alike.
All of this works well, except for one problem: For some reason, all cyrillic letters seem to be displaced. They appear 2-3 pixels below the correct base line, and actually protrude across the textfield's bottom border, even when the field is set to autosize. When I use textfield.getCharBoundaries(), all values seem to be correct, even though they obviously aren't rendered correctly.To make everything look neat, I could of course manually move all problematic textfields up or down according to language and font size, but I was wondering if there was some way to prevent or at least detect this kind of displacement in order to automatically handle the adjustments - the Flash Player should have some sort of information on how things are rendered, shouldn't i
