ActionScript 2.0 :: Senocular Script - Make Different Content In Each Menu Item

I have attached a file with a senocular springy menu that i have been playing around with. One thing i would like to know how to do is - towards the bottom of the script on _root, a comment says: // for unique content in item clips, attach those / movie clips to the item clip here i have tried many ways to make different content in each menu item, but to no avail (my knowledge of actionscript is not that great). What i would most like to do is have different text on each item and a different onRelease action for each one.
If I am making a simple navigation menu bar for a flash site in AS2 with mouse over/rollOut effects, then what is some possiblr actionscript I can use per menu item in order to have tHAT particular menu item selected while it's active ( in other words, if I click on services and I am located on the services page, the services object form the menu would be highlighted and if I were to click on that 'Active/highlighted" menu object, no event would occur. but it would simply remain highlighted until the point that I click on a different menu object and that highlight effect on previous menu object would fade out.
I need a tutorial for a hierarchical drop down menu system that drops down 3 sub levels. Do I make the items in the sub menus individual buttons and then insert them into a movie clip or make every sub menu item a movie clip and insert them into buttons?
I'm trying to get the menu width of a menu item in flex 4. I can get it but I have to show the menu first, then hide the menu, do a calculation, and show it again. Is there an easier way to get the item menu width without this hassle?
I followed the XML based menu by senocular a long time ago and modified it to display a title when the sub menu is chosen simply a movie with an image of a menu button in it: http:[url]....I need to modify this so that when the title is hovered over it displays the sub menu. Essentially imitating the behaviour when the first menu is hovered over.
I'm trying to create a large site where I'm using AS2.0 classes to manage everything. I've started working on porting the XML drop down menu by Senocular into a XMLMenu class with limited success. I have two issues/problems.I'd love to offer this AS2.0 class to anyone once I have it figured out. (One note, it's already slightly modified to be a horizontal menu with the submenus appearing below each menuitem).
#1: On top level items that are in the XML that don't have submenu's (they are just <item/>), I get a weird extra menuitem with "undefined" as the label, and the placement is off by one menuitem.
#2: I'm not getting the submenu's to appear at all. I thought it was an XML issue, but I'm pretty sure it's getting the XML right now...I wish I had more info to give here.
[URL]..i've been trying to create something like this for ages but haven't been able to - quite new to actionscripting.anyway, i want to be able to display text in the boxes so that it relates to my website. at the moment, it'll only generate "item0, item1, item2, etc." but i want the text to display "home, gallery, etc."

there is 1 movieclip in the library called "item" and this is being re-used i think. but i don't know how to edit this source file to allow different text to be shown. also, if someone can let me know how i can add in the actual links that would be fantastic. ie: i want to go to home.html when home is clicked, go to gallery.html if gallery is pressed.
I'm working on a navigation bar based off of senocular's amazing XML drop-down menututorial. I've managed to make the menu horizontal, and changed the boxes from rectangles to squares. All of that works fine. Now I need to figure out how to add an image to the inside of each element, and I can't figure out how to do that. I've addedCode:curr_item.image = curr_node.attributes.image; to the AS, and added an 'image' movieclip inside my menuitem, but that doesn't appear to work. Here's my complete actionscript:

i want to add new Menu in flash IDE and i want to add inside the adobe flash menu. How i can add new menu in menubar and new menu item inside the help menu. is it possible to do this things if yes then which language i have to use for this. what is way to start development and what is the .MXP file and how to create this .MXP file.
I am going through Senocular's beautiful tutorial on xml driver drill down menu and was trying to change the the font color with rollover effects. I have a function that I can use for this, but I am not able to call it appropriately from the main program.
Just finished up my first drop down menu and needed some help as well as feedback. [URL] QUESTION: What do I need to do to make the dropdown menu scroll down and fall over the html content? In other words; How do i get the other content on the page to sit right underneath the dropdown menu? I can only get the content to sit below the .swf video which is larger than the dropdown bar since it needs room to display the drop down selections.
I have made a drop down menu with 7 items but as the invisible bottun around each item interferes with the item besid it, when i try to roll the mouse from one item to another, the invisible bottum dont work and the dropdown remains open.
I've been using Senocular's free transform tool: [URL] in tandem with an image upload (using the fileReference class) so that users can upload an image and the transform it.
The free transform class has a function that allows you to restrict the scaling of the movieClip that you apply the free transform to, but it works on a 'scale' rather than specific height and width properties. My problem is, that I don't know what he dimensions of each uploaded image will be, so if it's restricted to a scale, some images will be allowed to be bigger than others....
i have AS2 coded menu it's working xml but i can add 11 categories.if i add menu item show page out...i want menu item 11 later menu 12 menu 13 in bottom. sorry my english i add flash file and screen
i created an application and it has a menu bar at the top of the stage it also has a loader component below it. i need the loader to load an swf when an item is selected from the menu. Does anybody know how to code this. I am using the following code:

ive followed Senoculars drop-down menu tute [URL], awsome stuff, but it seems the submenu's dont disappear to well when you roll out. ..They only disappear if you click on another menu item or when you click outside the menu.
i wanted to place some credits item in the right button menu (no links, so no events, just a label with credits). i was looking the contextmenu help, and there is an example of how to add items, disable default items and so on, but i could not find how to attach the menu to the movie (the basic part). i tried both on 'stage' and it tells me that stage does not have a property called contextMenu, so i tried to attach it to a sprite, it runs ok and compiles ok but when i right click on the sprite i get the default menu

I am a designer working in a flash file on the navigation part. The web site (is not yet posted) works fine but I need to change the contents when the menu is clicked (contact us, etc. ..). I need to find where the information is so I can change the address, phone number, info. but I have looked everywhere and cannot find it. Where could it be hiding?
So that's the general idea, not quite an accordion, but similar. Basically, I'm going to have 25-30 of these boxes laid out vertically. They'll be narrow to begin with, and on roll over i want them to expand down a littlle, but when they do that, I want the ones below to slide down accordingly.

When I click on a menuitem, I wish to print out the selected item, but in the form of (for example if I were to click Madone 4.5) "Road > Madone > Madone 4.5".
I'm currently using a flash template for my online portfolio, but I've noticed that if you right click anywhere, it brings up the standard flash right-click menu with the following items:

But directly above is a separate menu item that says "Made by JWD" and that takes you to a different website if you click it. I have the .fla file for the gallery - can I remove this menu item?
I have a menu system with 2 parts not connecting. I can't figure out how to write the code to make them work.
I have a movieClip with a dynamically created list of menu titles as an array from an AS3 file. My menu bars are linked to an AS3.0 file. The array is "empty" in the AS file to be added dynamically in the fla file.
1. I want to have one menu title flush left, then be able to add a submenu title indented with a different style to that same list. I have the listItem linking to an AS3.0 file now. I've got the main list working but not an indented submenu. How do I add that?
2. I need to be able to load a swf file when a menu item is clicked. How do I target the 'current' item clicked when added dynamically?[code]...
I tried with some codes but I couldn't do the following in the popup1. I need to select items when I click I need change the filter effects or colors2. After selecting item in each category that filter effect won't go.
