View 2 RepliesI 'm using the kirupa gallery to display my images. Works sweet, centering the images, next and prev button, nice transition. No thumbnails or stuff. Pretty simple and basic. I want to show even a bigger images onclick in flash, so, not a popup, but the images loading in a movieclip With shadow and close button. Cant get it to work! The hyperlink versions all open a new browser window. I just wat it to laod a movieclip or swf with the image suplied in the xml.

I am trying to draw a set number of squares in a grid type layout and have pretty much gotten it to do what I want. The
problems is that I want to be able to manipulate each square individually later on and I'm pretty sure I need to assign each one a unique instance name.something like "square_0_0" all the way down to "square_10_10" (it's a 10x10 table of squares).how do assign a unique instance name to each square as it's added to the stage? I attached the code I currently have running.
how we are usehandcursor at data grid and scrollBar component. I try to solve it throughCellRenderer class and study flash internal classes (DataGrid ICellRenderer,ScrollBar,UIScrollBar ) but i am fail to solve it
View 3 RepliesI followed the tutorial on how to incorporate thumbnails into a flash/XML gallery. [URL]
How would I do the same thing but using a grid of thumbnails instead of the scroller? Can this grid be made to appear dynamically?
I use several controls with combo boxes and data grids, which I fill using a HTTPService which returns some XML. However in the XML there are some telephone numbers starting with a plus sign (ie. +123456). However in the combo boxes and the data grids the plus sign doesn't show (so it would display as 12345646).
It doesn't matter if I use CDATA or not. When I change the value I saw the following:

[url]...Now I have a problem, I would like to add DOWNLOAD button for every image, or to add ''Back'' button, and clicking on the image would open it in new window for downlading. I tried to modify code on my own but I didn't succeed a lot. I dont know if I have to put links in XML file and then create new var like ''picUrl'' or something? My main problem is creating function for that.
View 7 RepliesDoes anyone out there have code for an XML gallery that arranges the sliding thumbs in a grid of many rows and columns instead of a single row?
View 6 RepliesI have a gallery that has two columns of thumbnails but it wont scroll. what can I do?
Code:
function loadXML(loaded) {
if (loaded) {
xmlNode = this.firstChild;
image = [];
description = [];

I have a store style website that uses a grid format gallery to display a grid of thumbnail products which can then be clicked.url...I have created xml captions that sit ontop of each thumbnail in the grid. They display fine when static but I wanted them to only display when you mouse over the corresponding thumbnail.I have code that tweens all of the captions (thumb_caption) to 0% alpha and the tweens to 100% alpha upon MouseOver and then back to 0% alpha on MouseOut.At the moment there is one problem - When you hover over ANY thumbnail the caption for the LAST thumbnail fades in not the corresponding one for THAT thumbnail.Example - if I have 10 thumbnails and I hover over thumbnail 1 the caption for thumbnail 10 appears ontop of thumbnail 10. (not caption 1 over thumbnail 1 like it should!)[code]
View 1 RepliesI have datagrid. the source for this datagrid is a url that returns n number of rows in json format.
i want to save this result in an array and show 20 records in the grid at a time. and cycle to the next 20 records in a time interval.
how to create a xml photo gallery but somehow all of them doesnt discuss what i need to know. [code].....Especially i am interested in howto structure the xml for such an portfolio / gallery grid and having custom tweening for the thumbs to transition in and transition out, handling the click event for x thumb and loading the "big" content to a new container. Adding preview/next button functionallity to the Thumbnail Grid and for each "big" content and so on.
View 1 RepliesI was looking for a way to make different grid layouts for xml loaded jpg thumbs, so I read and applied a lot of the tutorials and posts about galleries, xml, thumbs and grids around here. Some of the script I used comes from Kirupa's adding thumbs tutorial. I also applied the concept in Creating Grids with Flash/AS. The result is attached here. A lot of the parameters, like row and column numbers and scaling of the thumbs,spacing, alpha, rotation, etc, can be changed easily in the script. Also, the idea is that you could write different prototype functions to get different grid layouts effects.

Instead of scrolling thumbnails, I would like to have a Grid but I dont how to archive that. I have 8 pictures and I would I like to have a Grid with 3 images in each row.
I have a data grid. How can I hide a value of a column if it's "0" ? Do I have to use item renderers? How? Is there an easier way? Second thing, if I have a boolean column whose values are actually the strings "true" and "false" how can I render it as a non editable check box?
View 3 Repliesi have following xml

How can i show Email in textbox when user select any item in the grid?
I have just done using the tutorial (url.....) for creating a XML Grid Image Gallery in Flash for my portfolio.Since I created my website entirely with flash cs5, I have put the script in a new action layer on top of one of the pages.It worked fine when I just tested that page, but when I clicked into other pages, the gallery wouldn't go away, I tried to put "stop();" in front of my script but still didn't work, everything overlapped with each other.The following is my script
PHP Code:
stop();
import fl.controls.ProgressBar;
import fl.transitions.Tween;[code].....
I saw the tutorial here on how to make a Flash XML photo gallery with a scrolling thumbnail bar. Awesome!
The thing is, the example he DIDN'T choose to illustrate is the one I want make - exactly.[URl]..Is there somewhere else I can find this? The problem is that I have say, 16 photos and I want 4 displaying on the stage at one time. I want a forward / back button available to switch through the remaining 12 images, when the user clicks the buttons (as opposed to a scroller, which I find difficult to control and therefore less useable).
The problem comes when loading the four images from my XML file. I am able to load the first four, but how do I indicate in AS that the next four images are to be loaded, until there are no more images left? What if I add 5 more, I want to be able to have that AS load them. I was using a mod function in my script, but I keep getting the wrong remainder. I'll have to post the code later.
I've built an xml gallery with thumbnails only, layed out in a grid, and am trying to link each thumb to a centered popup. I'm getting a centered popup when clicking the image, but instead of the page loading inside, I'm getting an error message: Not Found. The requested URL /tas-dp_new/undefined was not found on this server.Here is my actionscript:
Code:
cliparray = [];
columns = 6;[code].....
I am new to AS3, I am creating a gallery and stuck on a place. [URL]. Requirements:
1.) Need a nice loop for loading all thumbs, most important it should be physically separated, should not be looped via code.
2.) When I click on 1st button I must load first 4 thumbnails (which is already loaded), and with 2nd button it must load next 4 thumbnails from xml file, similarly with 3rd.
i couldn't find a tutorial on this matter so i sorta started making my own hypothesis... what i'm trying to do is: have a gallery of images automatically scrolling horizontally while having the set of images loop. like at[URL]..
here are a couple of my theories and questions for AS commands to have this work:
1) display a range of pixels of an image at certain positions, i.e. if gallery is scrolling to the left, leftmost image when its parts are disappearing out of the viewing area, they become visible at the right.
2) have two instances of each image and when an image is disappearing on left, the second instance of that image comes visible on the right. this I imagine would take up more HD space.
i guess what i was wondering more about is how jager did their gallery where there's only enough images are in a set to be viewed in the viewing area.
I have been using the tut from [URL] with image gallery through i need to roll this into six images per page and have it flip through till its done
View 2 Repliesim trying to create a grid gallery that when you rollover an item it grows larger and makes the other items a little smaller, and moves them to compensate for the larger image and on rollout it shrinks to its original size, and so does the other items. if someone could point me in the right direction (tutorials, etc.) or how i would go about build it,
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to load and display images (read in dynamicaly with xml) into a rectangular grid format, say, 2 rows of 3 images.
I believe I understand the nuts and bolts about xml loaders, but my code is only showing what I think is the last image:
[Code]....
the trace command reveals that the coordinates are indeed right on where I expect them to be... only thing is on the stage, only one image shows up. The very last one.
I'm having trouble getting my mind around this. I need to take images randomly from a folder, and add them to the stage arranged in a grid. I know how to get the images from the folder onto the stage, but how would I write the code so the images are arranged into a grid?
View 6 RepliesI have about a dozen thumbnail images aligned in a 3 X 4 grid. The dimension of the stage is smaller then the 3 X 4 grid therefore I will need a vertical scroll bar to scroll through my images. In addition, whenever the user rolls over one of the images the edges would glow. Also, when the user clicks on one of the images, it will bring them to a separate frame. I was wondering how I would attempt to do this. Since I will be frequently adding new thumbnails, I heard that I should look into XML. If I am to do this using XML, I am confused as to how I would do this.
View 5 RepliesOkay, trying to find a solution to this, I have been searching everywhere. I have a flash project with a grid of images; 3 images tall by 4 images wide. Here's what I want, when you rollover each image, the others get covered up with a larger version of the particular image, no fancy animations or anything like that, it needs to just appear. The problem I am encountering is that the expanded image is part of the rollover so rolling over anywhere the expanded image should be reveals the larger image. So the million dollar question is... how do I make the only active part of the rollover action be the small version of the image
View 3 RepliesSo I need to tile a number of images to simulate a wall full of framed pictures. The images will be sized randomly onLoad and need to be spaced evenly. Here's is the effect I'm wanting to achieve:
how to pull this off? They'll load one at a time and probably starting in the center of the stage a building outward.
I have a slideshow of images, all being loading via Action Script, i have 20 thumbnail that load up into a strip with this code.
xmlPhotos.onLoad = function() {
for (var i:Number = 0; i<xmlPhotos.firstChild.childNodes.length; i++) {
makeAThumb(i);
[Code]....
Okay my problem is i cant work out how to load them into a 5 x 4 grid, with a 10 px gap between them, is this possible? How can i acheive this all through Action Script?
