I know that you can do this kind of transitions in Monoslide (watch the banner at [URL] but is it possible to do it in Flash?
I am working with the BitmapData class for the first time for a transition and I am running into a problem loading a new image from the array. I have modified a tutorial from flash-db by Jorge Solis. The function dissImg is firing but I can't work out how to load another image from the array into the container! Please see the code below:

I've read and completed the macromedia tweening tutorials [URL] and gained overview of tween class etc., So, I created an example (credit :sophistikat) using the macromedia tween class:

The script in layer 1, the bt in layer 2 and the main_mc in layer 3 - all correctly 'instanced'. But not working - the main_mc isn't moving and then zooming in when btn is clicked.

i've made a button that zooms into a movie clip on a rollover, but it on moves it a certain amount each time you rollover the button. code below:

wot i want it to do is to continue zooming in for as long as the mouse is over the button, is there anyway i can change the code to zoom in at the same amount but do it continuously until the mouse is moved off the button. Also is there anyway that i can set it so that the zoom stops at a certain percentage, i.e. it only zooms in so much and then stops. What i mean is that the user can zoom in but the picture will only zoom in to say 200% of the original size.
I am working on flash application TELESCOPE or Camera. My goal is to move around the scene and zoom-in or zoom-out I found that if I move scene, I have to move registration point, because I always want to zoom in the centre of my ocular. So far application works fine only if I move, zoom-in and than before I move any further, zoom-out! Using flex / air 2.6 working on an Android device, I am using a canvas with a TransformGestureEvent for zoom in on a map. The listening of the efect is working ok, but I can´t seem to find the information on wether the user intended zoom in or zoom out (fingers getting closer or getting apart).I expected the intention of the gesture to be identifiable with the offsetX and offsetY properties of the event, as you will do on a swipe gesture event. But I always get 0 for both properties, no matter how I do the gesture in the device.How can I know if the fingers getting closer or getting apart in a gesture zoom event?

View 1 RepliesI'm developing a full screen zoom/pan UI. Everything is working great, except I can't get it to center on the correct point when zooming in.

The numbers in the top-left corner are the navigation, and the white boxes represent the individual sections.
I have a large container movieclip that fills the entire page. Inside of that movieclip (site) I have all of my individual section movieclips (section1-section6). I'm also using a dynamic registration point class to dynamically set the registration point of the "site" movieclip to the current selected section, so that the zoom in/out is centered on that section.
When a user clicks on a navigation item, I first reduce the _xscale and _yscale of "site" to 80, when that is complete I move _x and _y to the position of the selected section's movieclip. When that is complete, I set the _xscale and _yscale back to 100. Right now, it is not zooming in centered, so I have a final step where I correct the _x and _y position after zooming back in.
If I don't zoom in/out I can successfully pan the movieclip and center on the correct section. I believe the problem is that I am moving the _x and _y to the position of the "site" movieclip as if it is at 100%, but since it is at 80% it is not moving to the correct position. I tried to fix this by giving the _x and _y coordinates as:
endX = endX / 100 * 80;
Which made it a little better, but still not centered. I have a feeling that there may be a fundamental flaw in my approach to this.

I'm creating transitions for each external .swf as they are unloaded so when the user clicks next, the current .swf transitions out and the new one comes in. Since loadMovie and levels are obsolete in 3.0,I've looked into the transitions manager class, but some of my transitions are pretty intricate so I would need to use timeline based tweens.
View 2 RepliesI am working on a slideshow (sort of). The idea is that each frame in the root timeline works as a slide. Each slide inside each frame is a simple MC filled with images, texts, audio and animations and so on. Once this MC reaches its last frame, it should stop and trigger another MC used as a transition. And I've put inside this transition MC a code that should tell the root timeline to advance a single frame in order to show the next "slide".
So, on the timeline, I've put this code:

Well, needless to say it is not working. The whole swf just stops. And if I remove the stop() code of the Transitions MC at frame 2, the current slide will loop before the transition triggers the nextFrame command.
I only open it up a couple of times a year to replace a banner ad in a clients web site. But I am having a problem with the transitions that I haven't experienced before. I created a new flash file with text that fades in over 24 frames before going to the next bit, but when I test it, it just jumps from one text to the next without the fade in. It plays fine on the stage, but exports the .swf file without the fade transitions.

i was also wondering if it's possible to make transitions with masks using actionscript?i have section headers that i want to transition when certain buttons are clicked, and depending on what button is clicked, a new section header is shown. i put all the section headers in a movie clip, with different frame names, so when the button is clicked, it jumps to the different frame name of the movie clip.for the transition, i basically want a wipe left to reveal the section header.. and a wipe right to hide it... and to do this, i figure i'd need to mask...
so i put a mask over the movie clip and realized that flash doesn't mask movie clips very well, when using masking layers.. so it doesn't really work properly.is there a way to do this using actionscript? and if so, how? i know flash know has a setmask property for movieclips..but can you modify the mask property's size??
I found this site and I like the transitions between the photo's. how to make such an effect! Is it done with masks? or......?

Once in a section I would like to go to another but before this that section's specific transition animation must play. Now I've looked around and all I can find is how to do this with a universal transition animation.
