need a scroller fixed, if you think you can do this download the file and if you get it working correctly let me know so to receive $5. i think five bucks is cool.the scroller is broken when you click the background bar near the top or bottom. the dragger will scroll out of bounds.
View 8 RepliesScotty helped me create an XML pop-up gallery. I'm trying to alter the scroller for the thumbnails to make it look like the scroller on my other pages. However, it doesn't work right. The problem is the arrows... these are the problems that I'm seeing (and you can see, too!):
1) down_btn arrow does not work, but the up_btn arrow works? I'm confused because the coding looks correct for both?
2) I can use the dragger, but if I use the dragger, click on an arrow, and then try to drag the dragger, it will cut off the top of the thumbnails. If you use the dragger without clicking on an arrow, it works correctly.
3) The up_btn does not work with the slider. It will slide WAY UP, but I couldn't figure out how to stop it in a certain position.
4) I would like the arrows to have up/down states when you press the button, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. Would I place the actionscript on the mc or somewhere else? You can see the up and down states when you click on the mcs. But who knows how I can trigger them?? To cut this short, the scrollbar is messed up. I'm not sure how to fix it..

This is my Mouse scroller code..if u cud change this to a container clip code so I can choose to show it on the correct page.

I have a dynamic image scroller that scrolls right or left following where the mouse is. When you hover over the images, a pop-up box also appears with information. This scroller works perfectly fine within the mc scene, but once i drag the mc into the main timeline the mc doesn't smoothly scroll right or left. It's jumpy and the infobox doesn't work at all. How can I get it to work smoothly on the main timeline?

View 5 Repliesgetting a vertical and horizontal thumbnail scroller to work at the same time, based off of the xml photo gallery tutorial here on kirupa. I'm using FMX04 and I can get one or the other to work but not at the same time. Once I can get them both to work at the same time I would like to make the vertical set load a different set up thumbnails,I know it will involve editting the xml and hence adding to the xml loading into flash but I'm unclear on that also... on another note, is there an easy way to make the image holder resize to the image, so as to accommodate both vertical and horizontal images without skewing them?

I have spent the last 2 weeks searching the web for a tutorial on content scrolling. I have a movieclip/graphic that I want to scroll from left to right on the stage. Example of what I am trying to do: [URL] but without the vertical scroll. There seems to be a couple of AS2 tutorials around I doing it in AS3.

Basically, my problem is that i've got 15 buttons labeled Channel 1 to Channel 15, but when the page first loads up, it skips down showing the very last button at the bottom, rather than the very first button at the top. The top button is off the screen.
The code below is currently what I am using to use the middle mouse wheel to control the position of the page... sort of a DIY page scrolling mechanism, luckily I only need up and down ( ._y property)...

I have an Event.ENTER_FRAME that fires, to move a scrolling image bar given where stage.mouseY is located. But, when the mouse leaves the movie clip I need to force the scroller to stop. The MOUSE_LEAVE event fires when the mouse leaves the movie, but I have no way of stopping the scrolling behavior because I can't set the mouseY coordinates by hand. Is there a way to change the mouse coordinates programmatically? Can you manually trigger and event to stop firing?
View 6 RepliesI have one very large movieclip, and I'd like to create a very smooth (eased), tween, that moves it around the stage, on mouse move. so far, I've read the "get mouse direction" article, and that's helped a lot. and I'm calculating the distance the mouse is moving.. and that's all good and dandy,.. but I'm having a little trouble converting that into a smooth scroll.. I'd like to use tweenmax preferably, and not an on enterframe.

I have a very simple piece of code but it has one very annoying bug. When I press the button a second time, the code doesn't work. The only way to get the code to work is by moving the mouse a tiny bit, or moving the mouse off the button and back on. make a button that can be clicked many times without moving the mouse?

I have created a long horizontal movie clip. Inside it are 22 buttons for a company history timeline. On the mouse over I want it to scroll in accordance to the mouse location so I used this code:

In order to get the buttons to work I created a function then called the function for each button with the instanceName for the argument:

Now the buttons work when then the yearHolder.onRollOver functions are commented out but when the scrolling is working (not commented out), the buttons do not work.
