ActionScript 2.0 :: Mouse Scroller - Images Won't Move Depending On The Mouse Movements
Jan 12, 2011
I am creating mouse scroller and when I insert actionscript my images wont move depending on the mouse movements..I am using Flash cs5 and Actionscript 2.0...this is my actionscript:
I have one very large movieclip, and I'd like to create a very smooth (eased), tween, that moves it around the stage, on mouse move. so far, I've read the "get mouse direction" article, and that's helped a lot. and I'm calculating the distance the mouse is moving.. and that's all good and dandy,.. but I'm having a little trouble converting that into a smooth scroll.. I'd like to use tweenmax preferably, and not an on enterframe.
Is it possible to copy the mouse movements, but rather than making a movieclip follow it exactly, to make up with the mouse move the movieclip up and left at a certain angle?
i've got a little actionscript that makes a shape follow my mouse about the screen. it works fine when i place it in a layer. however, when the code is in a mc and i place the mc in my layer, then i get no joy.i expect i need a line like tellTarget when using buttons within a mc to target places outside the mc?
So I'm designing a game for my flash class final, and I want to have my character spin based on mouse movements. So if I move the mouse to the left, character spins counterclockwise, to the right, clockwise. But I also need to have things spin with the character, like the gun he's holding. And if the gun shoots projectiles, how would I keep the direction of the projectiles constant with the character's direction? Also, I'm using wasd for walking, then the mouse for directional control, so how do I make it so W doesn't make the character go down in Y value, but it makes the character travel at a velocity in whatever direction it's facing (so if the character is facing like northeast, pressing W will make him walk northeast. Then pressing A facing the same direction would make him strafe northwest)?
In ActionScript 3, I need to detect a sequence of movements made by the mouse when the button is down.I've read this question, and it seems a bit overkill. I only need to detect the 8 basic directions (up/down/left/right/diagonals), so that I can detect a "Z".
I am currently working on a interactive map that I am building in flash. I need to figure out if there is a way to code something so that we can have our map zoomed in, so it is only showing a section of the map in the veiwport at a time, but when the mouse reaches the edge of the screen I want it to automatically scroll with it, up, down, over, etc.
i wanted to create scrolling gallery which loop continously without mouse movements i have used oman3d.com dynamic scrolling gallery codei only wanted to scroll the dynamic gallery continously
It has been awhile since I have worked in flash.Right now I am working on something where I would like a panel to disappear when someone mouses off the stage.stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, leaveHandler); It usually works fine but if I move my mouse really fast it doesn't fire. I have also tried the same thing using a custom invisible button that surounds the perimeter of the stage and I have tried ROLL_OVER and MOUSE_OVERand again, if I do it too fast my event doesn't fire (I am using trace)I can't find anything on the net about this - is this typical of flash that if you move your mouse too fast you break it? Do I need to increase my frame rate (I would really rather not because I have perfectly timed animations - I am at 30 frames per second)
As of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.
Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.
I am trying to have two guestures on a SpriteVisualElement which I thought should be pretty simple implemented: Mouse_Move for sweep Gestures and mouse click to enable.. So I have 2 Eventlisteners on my stage:
[Code]...
The main problem is that every type of sweeping on the screen also fires the taphandler().. how to identify the correct event? I tried to to my taphandler only if(!event.buttondown) but no success.
I started another thread where i had gotten help and combined the snow tutorial and the programatic mask tutorial to create particles that reveal an in-focus image over a blurred one. I just need help making the particles swarm around the mouse when it is present and have the particles just float around when not. Presently the random motion is just fine and looks like this (i just inverted the this._x and this._y so that they would go with the mouse direction not away from):
How can you restrict the mouse so that users cannot move their mouse into a certain area, (or a certain y or x value)? This is useful to me because I need it for a game.
how to do an object move towards the mouse when i move the mouse the towards the object and backwards when i move the move away, something liike the menu on [URL]
I am working on an interactive guide with some sort of different maps that are supposed to move together depending on where you are if that makes any sense...well no it doesn't. ok the main clip pans side ways on mouse move using a tutorial from this website. And when this clip slides along x up to a certain point, I need to get two other clips to also slide to a precise point depending on the first one position, one only along x and the other one on both x and y. OF course i also have to set several key position on the mainclip to mave the two clip at a different place each time the main clip reaches a different point. For now I have been trying things using mc_tween2 like that:
Ok, so I'm making a Myst-type game as a simple first application, and one of the things I need this to do is not have the arrow change to a finger when over a manipulable object. How do I either tell the program to change a certain cursor to another in a given context, or to keep it at default even in situations where it would not be so (over a link, etc)?
This is probably a step beyond the questions I've asked so far in complexity but I'm sure you gurus are up to it. :)
I am currently developing a game in a school project using Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3.0. I have searched the web for assistance, but have come up empty. Here is what I am wanting to do...
I have a 3 by 3 grid on screen. Each block in the grid contains a movie clip with four targets which cycle through at 24 fps. Each target with have a different outcome depending on which frame the mouse is clicked.I do not want the animation to stop after the frame is clicked, however. There are several different types of targets in the game. Some add points, some subtract points, one target has the avility to freeze the animations for a set period, and another one is basically an instant game over. Being as how I could not find any aid via the web prior to this post, I am not even positive that this is possible to code in AS3.0.Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how would I go about coding it?
Now, i have (let's say) 30 frames inside this movieclip, and i wan't it to change is current frame depending on the angle of the mouse (example, if i point my mouse to the right, the mc goes to frame 30, if i point my mouse a little up, the mc goes to to frame 27, if i point my mouse all to the left the mc goes to frame 15... etc...)
Basically the movieclip should change it's frame depending on the mouse angle,
By the way, i don't really wan't the moviecliip to rotate (like it's doing now) i want it to change it's frame only...)
I'm looking to a menu that scrolls vertically depending on the mouse position.I know that voetsjoeba has a cool scroller that does this, but loads XML and such. I'm just looking to scroll an MC up and down with easing depending on the mouse position.I like the way that the new XML thumbnail gallery that Kirupa put up scolls along the bottom, how about something like that?
I have a button symbol on my stage that I want to change size depending on where the mouse is on stage. ie: the y position of the mouse will make the x and y scale change (the symbol should get smaller as the mouse moves up the page and larger as it moves down - as if it is getting closer or further away).
I know this can't be to hard too achieve, but my actionscript skills aren't quite up to it yet. - I have 5 frames within a MC. - In this MC there is text saying "center", "left", "right", "up", "down" on each frame. - All I want to be able to do is make the MC change to frame 3 "right" when my mouse moves to the right of the MC.
onClipEvent (mouseMove) get x position get y position if statement x= > -180 and y=> 0 (something like that) _root.myMovieClip.gotoAndStop(3)
I have followed a Mouse Scroller video tutorial exactly but my images dont seem to move left or right depending on the mouses movement...I am using Flash CS5 Actionscript 2.0..this is my ActionScript....
