I am programming in the Flash CS4/ActionScript 3.0 environment. I would like to be able to add a Tab Control component to my environment but I have not been able to find any such component thus far.
View 1 Repliesi don't know how to say that in technical terms. and i think this is the reason to why i cant get good answer from Google.i have xampp on my local winxp machine. i use it for developing websites locally then upload these files to my clients shared hosting accounts.
the problem that in 2 years i have always found differences between how xampp works and how the web server work.some code work locally but dont remotely and the opposite. also flash behave differently on xampp than the remote web server.is there is a way i can get the server configuration and use it with xampp like get the server php.ini and use it with xampp?
I was wondering if there was a way to get the sound from a FLVPlayback component and manipulate it with using a custom volume slider? Within my Actionscript I currently have this code which enables me to control the volume of a MP3:

I've got some moveieClips in container in a scrollpane component.The movieClips are draggable.I'd like to add extra functionality where if an item is dragged and touches the bottom of the scrollpane, it automatically scrolls up, and the reverse if you touch the top with a dragged object.I tried the scrollDrag, but I only want it to scroll once the dragged item touches the bottom or top.So I wrote this and put it in the drag function:[code]....
It needs a bit of work, and I think I can get it working, but the one thing I'm stumped on is how to make the scrollbar move too.Is there a way to communicate with the component using code (I created this component from the component inspector)?

View 1 RepliesI am working on adding playback controls. So far, I've been able to achieve a working slider component that scrubs the external swf's timeline. However, it is faulty and the slider thumb doesn't follow move with the timeline of the swf-it just remains still. What I mean by faulty is that sometimes the slider scrubs the swf timeline and sometimes it fails with this error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at swfPlayerMain/sliderDrag()
at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()

Can you tab into CS3 Playback components or control them with keyboard commands in a regular (non screenreader) browser like IE? If not, can you in CS4? I believe that all screen readers can control Flash playback now, correct? But I have a higher up who wants it to be keyboard controlled as well.
View 4 RepliesI've created a site in CS4/AS3 (my first site, so I'm still pretty new at Flash and especially AS3). The site contains a number of embedded movieclips. For each movieclip, the user needs to be able to control the playback. I've created a play/pause button that works but I cannot figure out how to use the seekbar component so that the user can move around within the movieclip. Is the seekbar component only for manipulating video files? If so, how might I go about creating a seekbar-type feature for movieclips?

View 1 RepliesI have multiple tab loops, where I enable/disable the loops as needed to control the tabbing experience. I'm attempting to set control the tabbing with the tabChildren property on the Movieclip or Sprite containers I have by setting their tabChildren property to true/false. I am trying to set up tabbing that has three distinct tab loops (three different containers), each with their own internal Sprites/Movieclips that have their tabIndex properties set as needed. I am able to properly set tabChildren to false, and back to true. But with the component, once I set it to false, I can't set it to true again.
Tab loop 1: main content (a loaded SWF file)
Tab loop 2: nav bar (previous & back buttons to load different SWFS, and a Help button)
Tab loop 3: a help pop-up window (a Sprite container) with a scrollPane component used to show scrolling content
Things seem to work fine without the ScrollPane component involved in the mix.Have others experienced this inability to control tabChildren like this? And with regards to using components? I am not using the FocusManager class in any capacity, and believe that it only applies to the components (unless I created my own components and implemented IFocusManager, which I haven't).

I have a List (fl.controls.List) component... I can successfully populate this component with String data. The problem occurs when I try to unpopulate the list. The only function available is "removeAll()" I couldnt see a different function.
I am using it this way

I have a list control and i want the user to be able to select many items at a time. Thus I want it to act that if the control key is pressed while he is clicking. Eg if he clicks on a selected row it should become unselected and if he clicks on a unselected row it should become selected.

hope i'm explaining this the right way. i'm using the flash flvplayback component to play a video. i've stripped the audio from the flv and am playing it, along with another audio clip, on the timeline at the same time. volume has been set for both clips, but i need to allow people to adjust the volume from the volumeBar that exists inside the video player. it's built in as2.

It just stays at the start while the video is actually playing.If i drag the pointer to a different part of the streaming bar then it does what its supposed to do but that doesnt look right.

I'm producing a swf that is to run from a cd-rom and so will be published as an .exe for windows and a .app for mac...parts of the presentation change depending on what os the user is running it on. Basically I cannot get an Air or Flex application connected to a remote mysql db to work once deployed. How can I successfully move a finished application to a normal web server (website).
When testing everything works no problem but as soon as I deploy the gateway.php (regardless of where i put it on my web server) will not connect. I've even tried flash builder 4 auto generated code and still no luck

View 5 RepliesI have an application that was running at influxis, no problem. The server side script performs an XML sendAndLoad, and then calls the client based upon the xml response. But then i installed my main.asc file into a different dev environment and the xml.sendAndLoad request totally fails. Using onHTTPStatus, I discovered that the error type is <100, with an error code of 0. According to Adobe, a 0 indicates that things were fine.
I then implemented the onData method as shown in the adobe docs, and 'src' is coming back as undefined. The network engineer has confirmed that there are no network/firewall issues that would impact FMS talking to our application server, so FMS and the app server are free and clear to communicate with each other. Is there some sort of other setting that needs to happen to allow FMS to send and receive data? Is there something else I'm missing here?

I have an air application that loads a swf ( built in flex ) , this swf loads moduls and basicaly my air application is a testing environment for this swf .
when i run it in flex environment ( eclipse ) it runs fine , when i run it from my programs ( as an air program ) it gets stuck , what i was thinking is that it has to do with security issues because it gets stuck when my main swf try to loads the moduls .
