I'm trrying to develop a game with a highscore table. I need to have sql hosting. I don't want to pay for SQL hosting just incase I cant get the game to work, so I was wondering if anybody knew of anywhere I can get SQL for free?

so instead you have to access it with PHP print the contents into xml and have AS3 read the XML are there any other methods of doing it?

View 1 RepliesI've been doing a lot of portfolio work (ie lots of photos) and just started incorperating xml databases. does http:[url]....(who does a lot of sites for photographers, and are really good designers) get such efficient load times on images. Go to pretty much any one of their sites and there is like, no delay for some very high quality jpg files of substantial size. At first I thought they somehow preloaded everything, or a lot, but well, things happen fast. Also, looking for any external musings on the subjects of 1. PRELOADING 2. XML databases .

How to store the data text in Access databases using flash form and to search into the database. View 1 RepliesI've just finished a free AS3 scroll bar class for those that think using the built in Flash components are too heavy or too stock looking. The class makes no use of images and draws everything out via code. Play around with the little demo to generate the look you want.
this seems to be a pretty solid build thus far. I don't have mouse wheel scrolling built in. Possibly for a future release.

do you know about some free flash web application which can load images directly from folder and animate them (as a video player)? I mean, I have a folder with set of images and I want to animate them (switch one by one) in e.g. alphabetic order. Set of images will be randomly cumulate in time therefore I want to automatize this process and that's also why I can't use common video player which works with loading of video file.
