View 4 RepliesSo ive been asked to build a page for a real state company and the guy told me it should be similar to these [URL] Ive been trying a couple of weeks so far, but i dont seem to find a way to do somthing similar, i mean, i want to have the welcome screen as those two:
- the gradient background
- flash occupies whole screen no matter what size it is
- gradient expands sideways infinately
- no matter what height my explorer window is, gradient is always in the same position relative to top, and if i keep expanding downwards the background keeps last colour of the gradient.
- the brand logo looks as if it had top, left and right anchors, and it also limitates the minimum width of the explorer window
i though of addind a 3000 x 3000px square with the gradient and centering it, but i know there has to be a professional way of achieving that.
i have this code that loads my large images on my site but it does not reduce them it shows the image with original resol only so if the user looks an image that's resol is 1600*1200 and their own screen resol is 1024*768 then they cannot see the images all part. so what i want is to implement a "reduce to best fit if their screen resol is lesser then the image resol" feature for this code. this is the code that loads the large movieclip
Code:
var mcl2:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
var mcl_listener2:Object = new Object();
mcl2.addListener(mcl_listener2);
[Code]....
please take a look at [URL] The flash graphic is supposed to auto-resize to the page size but it does not. If I take the same code and put it in an "ordinary" webpage it works fine - look at [URL] What I had hoped to acheive is the effect in this page where the flash movie resizes to match the size of the browser window. I am using the script AC_RunActiveContent.js and calling it from the webpage with the height and width attributes set to 100% - it seems to be sizing the flash at 100x100 instead.....

View 1 RepliesMaking an Flex App. Just wondering if anyone has created something that fits automatically to the users' screen size and how I go about doing this? One of the principle things is that I need an background image, which is obviously going to have to scale / resize to match the users screen.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a Flex application that can automatically shrink based on the size of the components that it contains, so that a user can shrink it to a minimal view to see more of the HTML page it's embedded in.
I know how to change the size of the whole application using ExternalInterface, but I'm having trouble automatically figuring out how much the size changed when something is hidden or shown.
For example:
Let's say I have the following flex layout:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="vertical">
<mx:VBox width="100%" paddingTop="0" paddingBottom="0"
[Code]....
How can I hide one of the text fields and cause the VBox to shrink? I'm currently setting it to visible = false, but that doesn't seem to affect the parent VBox.
Once the VBox shrinks, how can I detect that the Application no longer needs so much space, and then go about figuring out how much less space it needs?
I've tried using ResizeEvent, but I haven't been able to get them to work, but I could be doing something wrong.
I have a website with a large .swf file. However when people with smaller screens view the website, I would like the .swf (which takes up the entire screen) to resize to fit on exactly. Just like how on most flash sites when viewed they fit the screen perfectly, however also then when viewed on computers with smaller screens they resize and still fit perfectly again.

View 2 RepliesJust wondering if anyone knows how to auto-resize an image in flash/xml. I have a flash slideshow that is loading an external xml file with images, but would like the images to appear no larger than a certain size in flash. I'm not really sure if it would be better to do this in flash or in the xml file. I have tried setting a fixed width and height within the xml file with no luck (it is still displaying the image at its original size in flash).
View 5 RepliesI have a website made of swf files. The swf files are contained in an HTML body that I created with Dreamweaver CS4. I want the website or each page of this site or each swf file to resize depending on any screen or window size. I am using Flash CS4 and AS3. You can look at my site www.ealba.net and you will see that the size is too big for a 15 inches screen or smaller. I think there is a code for it... a code that adapt the website to any screen size.

The name of the background image movie clip symbol is bg_main. The problem here is img is aligning outside the browser window on extreme bottom-right hand side instead of centering.[URL]
Here's the code below:
//set stage for FBF
stage.align = "TL";
stage.scaleMode = "noScale";

I am developing a flash based website using mxml. My monitor's resolution is 1280x768 and is widescreen. The problem is while it appears properly in my screen it doesn't appear properly in others.
-Let scrollbars take care of it : If the screen is 14 inch screen with 800x600 resolution it appears zoomed in. So that's a problem
-Get screen resolution and resize using scaleX and scaleY : The graphic components will get resized but fonts give problem.
mc.loadMovie("01img.jpg",0);
i use a mc load a pic i want the pic can auto fit the mc's width and heigth
i had a xml wich is dynamically genrate the values, and i use those value to show as a image in flash as2.now the values are n numbers, if it is beyound the screen i want to resize the whole image in to best fit on my screen.
View 8 RepliesI already have an image that gets resized. Is there an easy way to add a text box on the bottom of it so that it behaves the same way as the picture?
View 1 Repliesjust wondering how to resize a square so that a thumbnail size image comes through
heres the link peeps: its awesome [URL]
And just loved the way it looked, anyone have any idea how to get a similar effect using ideally CSS/JS and if not then using flash? Furthermore it would be excellent if you could move to the next slide by clicking on the image itself.I'm also wondering how she is able to maintain height of the images when resizing (unless she is doing it manually which I doubt now days).
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to run a function that determines the image size coming in, and automatically rescaling itself based on the document size, but don't get where I'm going wrong

I currently have some code that displays an image in a pop up and just takes the width and height of the image. My problem is that some of the images are larger then my screen. How can I get the size of my screen and then readjust the width and height of the image based on that?
View 2 RepliesThe problem that I'm facing is in regards to the width of a sliding menu that I've created. The menu slides based on mouse x position and width of the movie. I would like the menu to fit to the entire screen regardless of the users resolution. I wanted to know if there's a way to detect a users screen width and then adjust the variable for screen width within my actionscript .fla if necessary.
View 10 RepliesIs there a way that I can find out the screen resolution of a users screen? I want to add scroll bars for users with a resolution lower than 1440X900 and if u have 1440x900 or greater it wont show the scroll bars.
View 5 RepliesTried stage.stageWidth and stageHeight on applicationComplete, but for some reason the actual numbers returned do not seem to be accurate - the image always appears off-centered (stageWidth/2 - imageWidth/2). How do you determine the mobile device's actual screen size, to center an object?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to build a flash that auto-adjust its size to the browser window size, while leaving the content of the flash itself top-centered in the screen.I have found this solution [URL].. on How to keep centered stuff in this exact case so i am pretty confident i will be able to adjust that script to do what i want.
Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.

I wasn't sure where to put this post. I hope this is the right place.
This is what I want to do:
On screen resolutions up to 800x600, I want my Flash movie to resize to 100% width and height of the browser window. On screen resolutions higher than 800x600, I want the Flash movie to be a fixed size (say 800px x 600px exactly).

Is this possible, and if so, how?
How do i make site resize to a persons screen so that it fills their screen.
View 2 Replieshow one might change a site element based on the users computer time? What we are trying to do is change the color of the sky and shade of the buildings in a cityscape scene on a cartoonish style site. If it is 9:00 PM on the site visitor's end, they will see a nighttime colored scene. If it's 7:00 AM, it would be sunrise-ish.
