I have successfully loaded an external swf file into my own one. now what i want is to change the size of the loaded file.
the loaded file is an image and its height:500 and width:500 but what i want is to resize it to 200x200
How can i do that.
here is my code to load external image
var peelawayimage = _root.createEmptyMovieClip("peelawayimage", 7);
var mcImage = new MovieClipLoader();
mcImage.loadClip(_root.video_image, peelawayimage);
How can i make a image resize based on the users screen size in flash?

If you load an external swf and after it is totally loaded give it as to change size properties. the file jumps from his size exactly to the pretended. How do one give code to do this in a progressive way.
View 1 RepliesHow do I set the image size of an externally loaded image? The external image is 80x80, but when I load the image into my scrollBar I need it to be 1/2 that size. I tried setting the loader width and height but that make the image disappear completely. I suppose I am missing something fundamental?[code]...
View 2 RepliesI've got a component with a few classes like this:
Code:
[Embed(source='assets/images/Road Works Signs/TW-01_0A.png')]
public static var RW0Icon:Class;
[Embed(source='assets/images/Road Works Signs/TW-01_0B.png')]
public static var RW1Icon:Class;
And I am calling them and adding them to a button in another module like this:
Code:
var a:int = 0;
while (a < 6)
{
[code]....
I'm just having trouble trying to change the size of the image. I want to be able to change height/width the image embedded in the RW0Icon class, but don't know how to reference it.
i want to change image size in slideshow.
View 2 RepliesSo ive been asked to build a page for a real state company and the guy told me it should be similar to these [URL] Ive been trying a couple of weeks so far, but i dont seem to find a way to do somthing similar, i mean, i want to have the welcome screen as those two:
- the gradient background
- flash occupies whole screen no matter what size it is
- gradient expands sideways infinately
- no matter what height my explorer window is, gradient is always in the same position relative to top, and if i keep expanding downwards the background keeps last colour of the gradient.
- the brand logo looks as if it had top, left and right anchors, and it also limitates the minimum width of the explorer window
i though of addind a 3000 x 3000px square with the gradient and centering it, but i know there has to be a professional way of achieving that.
I am trying to build a flash that auto-adjust its size to the browser window size, while leaving the content of the flash itself top-centered in the screen.I have found this solution [URL].. on How to keep centered stuff in this exact case so i am pretty confident i will be able to adjust that script to do what i want.
Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.

I'm loading images from xml file. I want the images to have standard width when they are displayed.
Here are the snippets of the code that do the image processing:
var allThumbs:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
addChild(allThumbs);
allThumbs.width = 200;
allThumbs.height = 200;

View 1 RepliesI'm Loading an image into a MC based on an XML file. I'm setting the initial alpha to 0, loading the image, then setting the alpha to 100 once I see that it is fully loaded. The problem is that I want the image to be resized, which is not working. Every time I check the size of the MC once the image is loaded I get 0x0. Here preload code.
Code:
function preload(num) {
eval("image"+num).loadMovie(url[num],1);
eval("image"+num).onEnterFrame = function() {

I wasn't sure where to put this post. I hope this is the right place.
This is what I want to do:
On screen resolutions up to 800x600, I want my Flash movie to resize to 100% width and height of the browser window. On screen resolutions higher than 800x600, I want the Flash movie to be a fixed size (say 800px x 600px exactly).

I have a problem with scaleX and scaleY. When I use them for images created by photoshop their graphic decrease a lot. I use scaleX and scaleY for changing the size of image so scaleX equal with scaleY. Is there another way to change the size of image in actionscript without decreasing graphic?

View 2 RepliesIm having problems with assessing the size of an image after having loaded it into a movieclip using MovieClipLoader.Im trying to use the onLoadComplete-method to determine when the image is completely downloaded into the imageholder-mc, but Im just getting the original size of the mc, not the image's.[code]
View 3 RepliesI wonder if any of you can point me in the right direction. In my stage I have a movieclip where I want to load several images with different sizes. This mc called "container" adds the loader to the stage so I'm asking for the loader width and height once has finished loading and then passing these to the width and height of the mc container so it resizes accordingly. But...it doesn't work. Here is my code:
[CODE]
var pic:Loader;var totalImages:int = 10;for (var i:uint = 0; i<totalImages; i++){ pic = new Loader() container.addChild(pic) pic.load(new

Im trying to use the onLoadComplete-method to determine when the image is completely downloaded into the imageholder-mc, but Im just getting the original size of the mc, not the image's. I using the MovieClipLoader incorrectly somehow?
Code:
var MCL = new MovieClipLoader();
MCL.loadClip("IMAGE.jpg", mc_ImageHolder);
MCL.onLoadComplete = function (targetMC) { // perhaps 'targetMC' should be used?
trace (mc_ImageHolder._width); // outputs mc's original size, not image's size
}
Is it possible to change the height and/or width of an MC after it loaded an image (xml)?
I made an upload page for images and a xml file to read the records from the database. So any image size is possible. but it must be like 100x100 pixels (just an avatar kind of size).
Do i need to do that with php or is it possible with A.S. 2??
I am loading two images dynamically I then RESIZE them according to the Stage.width I make a crossfading effect between them. Doesn't work. I get rid of the resizing, works. I need the resizing. I must be missing something, but is there an issue with changing the alpha of resized loaded images?
View 4 Repliesplease take a look at [URL] The flash graphic is supposed to auto-resize to the page size but it does not. If I take the same code and put it in an "ordinary" webpage it works fine - look at [URL] What I had hoped to acheive is the effect in this page where the flash movie resizes to match the size of the browser window. I am using the script AC_RunActiveContent.js and calling it from the webpage with the height and width attributes set to 100% - it seems to be sizing the flash at 100x100 instead.....
View 3 RepliesI know how to autosize the textbox inside it, but the borders around the textInput aren't autosizing so the text is just overwriting it I've attached a screenshot to you you what's happening.
View 1 Repliesvar tfNum_mc:MovieClip = tl.attachMovie("tfID","tfNum_mc_",tl.getNextHighestDepth());
If I'm to assign the above code to a dragDrop action. Is there a way to change the font size of tfNum_mc_.tf? I've tried;
tfNum_mc_.tf.size = 12;//did not work
var format1:TextFormat( = new TextFormat();
format1_fmt.size = 12;
tfNum_mc_.tf.setNewTextFormat(format1);//did not work
