ActionScript 3.0 :: Can Transparent Flash Tweak Webpage Images
Jan 13, 2009
Can a wmode-transparent SWF have any effect on the graphics of the webpage that it appears on?Specifically, I'd like to create two effects - a draggable lens and a "heatwave/water ripple" effect, both of which affect html-based text and graphics which are on the webpage.
While it's fairly easy to do this by taking a screenshot of the page and importing it, I was wondering if there's a more dynamic solution, such as by somehow grabbing a bitmap image of what's beneath the SWF...
I ve uploaded flash file with transparent background to my web page. Set background transparency in html code of page. Purpose of this flash is to represent main meny, so it contains few buttons, in up and over stage everything is ok but when i press mouse some strange doted line appears around flash, on click out of flash zone line disappear i want to remove that doted line.
have a gateway button that resizes the browser window to the size of the user's screen. since this would vary, i'd like my flash elements to have a transparent background so they can rest in the middle of the background despite the size of the window, borderless and seamless.
I bought this flying birds MOV file from istockphotos and now I'm stuck trying to implement it into my webpage, I want it to run like a flash file, every few seconds but I can't seem to be able to import it into Adobe Flash, I tried using the code below but it does not allow me to do much and is not transparent:
I have two images on my flash stage (A camera image and a scenery image) The idea is that the camera is in front of the scenery. The problem is although both images are on my stage the camera is completely transparent and looks wrong . How can I set the cannon image transparency so that it is a solid image on top of the background image.
I would like to have the images load for a few seconds and then automaticly unload the present image and load the next image in the xml file. Principally, I would like to have the Gallery automaticly shuffle through the images like a slide show without having to take user imput from clicking a button or hitting a key on the keyboard.
I just read the tutorial on using a photo Gallery with XML and Flash and I was wondering if anyone could help me tweak it a bit? I would like to have the images load for a few seconds and then automaticly unload the present image and load the next image in the xml file. Principally, I would like to have the Gallery automaticly shuffle through the images like a slide show without having to take user imput from clicking a button or hitting a key on the keyboard.
I have an XML file that loads in JPG images great, but if I try to load either a PNG or GIF instead of a JPG - it simply does not load at all.Does ActionScript & Flash not allow for transparent files, or even these formats of images to be brought in via XML file?BTW:I used this tutorial, step 1-9, and all works well but if I change the images to my personal PNG - the only thing that displays is the preloading bar as if the file just doesn't want to file/load the image. The text does come in though.
I downloaded a template of a 3d spinning cube of a forum, redesigned the images on each of the faces of the cube and it can be seen on the attachment:
When i run the swf file this is what i can see but as soon as i put it on the webpage the cube is still there but none of the images on the faces.[code]...
I am trying to import this transparent text with drop shadow but everytime I try to save it as a .gif or .png the quality is horrible. I've played around with the settings.
This is probably an easy task for most of you, but how do i get a transparent image to fade to a background image in Flash? I have several transparent product images (.png or .gif) and a patterend background. I import my .png or .gif image and convert it to a symbol. I drag the symbol on my layer but as soon as i add a keyframe, the product image background turns white and loses it's transparency!
I have a flash piece that just chages the image displayed on the screen. The images are stored extrenally so I can easily change them out from time to time. Is it possible to navigate to a web page if you click on an image? If so, how is that coded or can you direct me to where I can find out how to do this?
what i want to do is to preload some images, then multipy them on my scene ( the files are transparent png containing clouds ) the problem is that when i copy the bitmap data to create a new cloud, i loose transparency, and i can't get WHY here's my code
My flash piece loads an external image depending on the XML that gets pulled in. The problem is that it sits in with a busted *** calendar that won't let me z-index until the wmode = invisible. When I change it from "window" (aka default) to "invisible" my external images do not load in but the stage assets remain. So external images appear in window mode. Do not appear in invisible / opaque mode.
I have this xml calendar component I downloaded form flash components. It works great but I would like to change two things and can't figure out how/where.
1. It displays the first event/menu item from the xml file into the current date.
2. If you click on a date that doesn't have an associated event it doesn't clear the text box.
Whatever was last in there stays in there. The component is on frame 4 of the calendar fla on the left hand side. The xml load AS is on the first frame.

I have been trying to tweak the random motion tuts here. What I want to accomplish is a round motion of a clip lets say a sparkle, but I want to appear that it is floating like driven by the wind. I know this sounds crazy but is it possible?? and if yes does anyone have a snippet or a tut I can check out?
I'd like to write a draw graphic that is a tweak of drawRoundRect. I can work with curveTo, the problem is I end up drawing all sorts of wierd shapes since I don't understand well the metrics. If I could look at the code for drawRoundRect, I could easily tweak it to my needs.
I am getting a number of spurious warnings in my CSS files within my Flex project. Any way to tweak which warnings are displayed in Eclipse like I do with Java?
I imported a video into flash and have a transparent photoshop layer to create an iPod skin. The video works fine, but I cannot get the "stage" to be transparent so that you do not see the flash background color behind the iPod skin.
I've read in the forums and have followed the instructions here from Adobe. If you look at my code, I have
I'm thinking of creating a visual template of a movieClips in a .fla file for the designer to adjust and tweak. Then in flex builder 3 (actionscript project) I load in that .swf file and use the references to the movieClips to adjust location, size and color of objects... Hope that made sense...
Along those lines... is it possible to grab the graphic information of an entire movieClip? Let's say there's a movieClip with a red 4 pixel line on the top then 2 pixels further down there's a grey rectangle that's 400 pixels high. These were drawn with vectors in the flash environment.
I'm a designer who knows basic flash, but I got a freelancer to help me out with my website. She added an event calendar, which works great, but the designer in me wants to tweak the way it looks, which affects the way it's coded. Working in AS2.
As it is, the Month and Year act as a single entity. I'm wanting to separate these independent parts. I've tried messing around with the code, but unfortunately, my flash skills are limited. If there's anyone who could give the included .fla file a look over and maybe give me some tips on what to do. I'm also including an image of what I'm hoping the calendar to look like (ignore the "date unavailable on the bottom." If you open the flash file, you'll see what I mean about the month and year acting as a single entity.
I am creating a map in flash cs4 with all the countries on it. I used photoshop for creating the map and separated countries. Now I imported all pngs in Flash and I want to give Mouse CLICK event and Mouse Hover on all pngs, but as the transparent pixels are overlapping the other states, it is getting difficult. So, I converted all pngs in movieclips and now then I broke up pngs. Now I want to delete all pixels having alpha 0 using eraser tool, as per the borders. And I have to do it manually for individual countries. So is there a way to remove transparent pixels from the bitmap data?
I have two png's that kind of look like paint brush strokes. they have some transparency in them that lets the stage colour bleed through a bit.
I am adding two of these images to the stage in AS 3. One adds quite fine - looks as expected. The second one however doesn't have any transparency other than around its edges. What i mean is it looks more like GIF than a PNG. Rough around the edges, no transparency "inside" the image itself (where there should be)
i have tried re-creating the image (yes it IS a PNG) which did nothing. I ensured the library item is not being treated as a JPEG. I also even tried externally calling the PNG to see if that made a difference. Unfortunately it did not.
why this second PNG doesn't seem to have a transparency set?
This PHP contact form works well and is very simple. I have one checkbox in the fla file. However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. It should display 'Yes' if the checkbox is selected, and 'No' if the checkbox is unselected. Here is the PHP:
