I need to parse the parameters from one function to another as arguments rather than an array.[code]The problem is there that when the wrapping function 'push' has the arguments parsed, on the inside it is an array, meaning that when _array.push is called with the parameters variable, rather than the elements of parameters being pushed on, the entire array gets pushed on making it multi dimensional.I've tried to search for ways to split an array into seperate arguments, and number of arguments needs to be dynamic, so parameters[0], parameters[1] is no good in this case.

I'm going to post the full code of the two functions, disregard the "fluff" unrelated to the two functions as it is all working flawless, I've tested this HEAVILY and cannot understand why it keeps setting the entire array to undefined!

Basically it's supposed to check to see if the file exists and return as true if it does and add it to a replace array, then the replace array is processed into a single string and put into a dialog box through the flash wrapper prompting them to "replace the files or not".
It makes the replace array just fine, it actually even has the right "count" in it but it's setting all the "filenames" to undefined because of the exists = processSearch function.
I even tried to make a new array and run the search just from that one and set the values from the old one and it's still failing.
Is it because of the "break" or can anyone figure it out? Iknow it's hard because you can't use the code

I am teaching myself AS3 and using FlashDevelop for all of my work (so far so good) and I have hit a snag with passing arguments.What is the best way to pass arguments of one array to another? Ie, I want the Harvester class to have visibility to the Resource class so I can do some iteration.

You can do this:

To take in any number of arguments. Is it possible to then give the content of that args array to a new function:
PHP Code:
public function bla (args ...){
pleh( changeArrayIntoArgs(args) );
}
So that that would be the same as just passing arguments manually. lets say bla got 3 arguments:
PHP Code:
bla(v,vv,vvv);
So that bla then executes:
PHP Code:
pleh(v,vv,vvv);

I'm passing a DisplayObject to a command that will instantiate it. Something like this:
// ViewClass is passed into this method typed as a Class
var view : DisplayObject = new ViewClass() as DisplayObject;
Is there a way to pass arguments to ViewClass() without knowing it's type? I'm assuming the list of parameters passed to any object's constructor is an array, but I'm not certain how to proceed.
I know I can do something like this:
// Assume arguments, an Array of arguments, has also been passed in
var view : DisplayObject = new ViewClass(arguments[0], arguments[1], arguments[2], arguments[3], arguments[4]) as DisplayObject;
But clearly I'd like something more dynamic, like to be able to just pass the arguments Array directly. I suppose all of this, however, goes against any type safe checking

What is the correct syntax for setting a value of an array as a function?
Lastly, how do I pass arguments into the array's value?

I'm working on a site that is importing a published CSV (comma seperated values) via actionscript 3.0 URLloader(). Right now I'm just trying to get actionscript to successfully input the imported data from the CSV into an Array, so the CSV file has only 1 cell which contains "athleticMaroon,charcoal,colonialBlue,kellyGreen,fullColor".

i have a collection looking like this :arr.getItemAt(0).closet.clothes[0].color. the arr is an ArrayCollection data type..the clothes is an Array data type..when i try to bind this to an mxml component , i get a warning :"Data binding will not be able to detect changes when using square bracket([]) operator. For Array, please use ArrayCollection.getItemAt() instead."this is not possible as the Array class has no method getItemAt().

I have a service which returns an Array of ObjectProxy objects. I would like to cast this to a custom object (a value object) and create an ArrayCollection. I feel like this should be really easy, but I don't get what I need to do.I have a value bgW[j] stored in "j" equaling a number.But I can't seem to get it to register as a number.What commonly needs to happen to convert this value into a numeric datatype?I've tried a bunch of stuff: eval, parseInt, multiplying it by 1.

I have this piece of script, where I want to do a hittest when both the x AND y are not the same (and some other variables) now, that wouldnt be so hard, you think: if (MovieclipA.x!=MovieclipB.x && MovieClipA.y!=MovieclipB.y) but! if i now have a MovieclipC, which is on the same y coordinate as A, but not on the same x coordinate, the hittest wont execute..., as the y coordinates match...
it probably is really simple, but how can i solve this problem?

I'm doing a little flash nav bar and I'm trying to have the buttons link to the correct web pages. I'm designing a game that uses this function;
function moveBars(Bl:Number,Gr:Number,Or:Number,Ye:Number)

blueBar_mc.scaleX += Bl;
greenBar_mc.scaleX += Gr;
orangeBar_mc.scaleX += Or;
yellowBar_mc.scaleX += Ye;
}
When moveBars is called, the length of the 4 colored bars change to indicate how the player is doing in different areas of the game, like so; moveBars(.1,-.2,.3,-.1)
My problem; I need to store the moveBars parameter arguments in XML like so;
<myArgs> .1,-.2,.3,-.1 </myArgs>
But I can't find the way to get those 4 numbers into the moveBars parameters from the XML doc. Is there a way to do this?
