Oct 10, 2011In my application, I've created 3 boxes. In the first button, I'm using a flash button, in my second button, I'm using a <div> element, and in my third button, I'm also using a <div> element. If I click the flash button that shows images from the disk to upload.
If I click the second box, it means that some operation should be performed, and if I click the third box, some other operation should be performed.
What I need to happen is if I click the first button, I want to disable the second and third buttons, if I click on the second button, I want to disable the first and third buttons, and if I click the third button, I want to disable the first and second buttons.

Feb 28, 2012I'm working on an AS3 project whereby an element needs to expand (downward) on hover. The problem is that I can't figure out how to expand the element without AS3 auto-scaling all of it's contents. For example (this is a Sprite):

Will automatically grow all children of this to fill the available space. I'm looking to disable this functionality, leaving the previously visible content in-place, so that I can reveal additional content with the new space. Playing with scaleY in the TweenLite statement doesn't seem to do anything.
It doesn't make any sense to me why this is the default behavior, but I come from an HTML (think "box-model") layout mindset, so I think that's getting me into trouble. Perhaps I've got the wrong idea entirely - is there a more AS3-appropriate method for "expanding" this to reveal the extra content?
Flex :: Add Icons To A PopUpMenuButton Using A XML File?
Sep 4, 2009I've been looking at the following example for populating a PupUpMenuButton [URL] and would like to add icons to each menu. Ideally, I would specify the icon in the xml and assign it in a similar way to using labelFunction for the text. The only information I've found via google is to create a menu as follows
(seems I can't include more than one url, but it is an example that creates a menu object using the following function):

menu = new Menu();
menu.dataProvider = xmlList;
menu.labelField = "@label";
menu.iconField = "@icon";
}
but I would really prefer to build it all from the XML file.
Flex 3 PopUpMenuButton And ReferenceError #1069
Sep 23, 2010I've got a PopUpMenuButton in a Flex 3 application. If someone clicks on the pulldown part, it works fine. But, if they click on the main button part, I get get ReferenceError: Error #1069. After the user dismisses the error, it then does what it's supposed to do.

Jan 18, 2011I am trying to create a popupmenubutton, with images and label as its nodes. But I am unable to embed the icons. It gives me and error(given below). Thou the label alone are working fine.

May 10, 2010I have flash where there is a link for song download. And, at the bottom of the flash I've a count, loaded thorugh flash vars which should increment everytime donload button is hit. Please let me know what approach should i take to do that. can i call a Java method on donload button which will insert a row in the table and and then get the count and render it to the count variable in my flash?
May be this extremely confusing. Here is a very similar example on how it is done. This is actually very similar to what i want to do. [URL] on this link there is count below which increments you hit the download button.

Nov 16, 2009I've been into coding for about 5 years now, but I'm a recent convert to Flash development. One of the questions I have at the moment is, considering that SWF files can be run by either Adobe Flash Player OR Adobe AIR, what's the real difference between the two runtime environments? What API's and Objects exist in one environment, but not the other?
Basically what I'm more or less trying to establish is, when would I want to develop an SWF for AIR, and when would I want to develop for Flash Player, considering that Flash Player can also execute locally (providing support for creating "desktop applications")

Oct 20, 2008I am having a problem with my drop traget. I have the ability to drop and duplicate multiple objects on a stage. I have a clip set up (canvas) which is used for if someone drops objects onto this it duplicates the dragged clip.
However the problem I am having is that if someone tries to drop an element on top of an already drop/duplicated element, it wont duplicate the new clip. Its like it thinks that the dragged clip is not over the canvas.

I think the Dictionary class stores a reference to the first item, but I would like to access it and check but I cannot figure out how.

May 18, 2011I have a screen with a few components (textInput, textArea, checkBox). I want to check if there has been any changes to the components. Foe example if text has been entered or checkbox has been clicked. Is there a direct way to do this instead of checking value of each component and then setting a Boolean for this?
