ActionScript 3.0 :: Drag Scrollpane Triggers Click Events

I'm design a project for touch interfaces and on my project I have a scrollpane with scrolldrag = true and the source is a sprite with buttons.My problem is that when I drag my scrollpane the mouse click event on the button is triggered. How can I easily prevent this from happening?

I am having this problem where i have a movieclip and i want it to be able to be dragged, and clicked. two separate events. But the problem is when i startdrag the MC, then when I stopdrag it, the click event gets called up. here is the code:

I have one movieclip inside which I created few movieclips...I applied drag drop functionality to main movieclip with which all movieclips inside of it also get dragged along with it..and I want inside movieclips to act as buttons meaning on clicking perticular movieclip it should perform perticular event assigned to it... How to make movieclips into buttons and the main movieclip containing these buttons with drag drop functionality?

I have objects that the user can click&drag. They're PNGs, mainly rectangular, no problem till here.But I then had to put an L-shaped object (a PNG with a lot of transparency), so i've made a movieclip with an shape with the same L shape than the png, and use it as its hitArea:
shape.visible= false;
shape.mouseEnabled= false;
obj.addChild(shape);
obj.hitArea= shape;
This works PERFECT, the mouse events respond as expected, and I can click on objects that are below/above the transparent area of the png/object.All objects are inside a Sprite called playgroundLayer1. The issue comes when I take the L-shaped object and put it on another Sprite (playgroundLayer2), that is above the playgroundLayer1.I this case, I can click&drag on the L, but no object below the transparent area of the L receives mouse events.

I haven't been able to find a non-hack way to use Drag and Drop with the AS3 ScrollPane component.
Here's what I'm doing:
I create a container mc, which I then add a bunch of children to. The children are what I want to drag.
However, dragging is constrained to the boundaries of the ScrollPane. This seems to me like a limitation of the ScrollPane component.
I know it can be worked around with attaching a dupe mc to the cursor pos, then manipulating other mcs on mouse up, but..

Just wanted to ask if there is any advantage for either using mouse click event or touch tap events, when writing apps for mobiles or tablets (for the iphone especially)?
I know that both of them should work fine, but in term of performance, is anyone better? Are there any things I should be aware of when choosing either?
By the way am using actionscript3 to implement the app.

I have been developing a T-Shirt Designer [URL].. and found some AS to enable a file upload. The following code is a small section of my code that uploads a users image to a folder and then downloads the image for preview in a scrollPane.

I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....

i dublicate my movieclip named mc2. (mc2 in mc1 moviclip). And my scrollpane 's contentpath is mc1. When i do that, it works. but if i make scrolldrag = true, my button in my movieclip doesnt work. How can i use scrolldrag and button click in scrollpane content ??

I've created a drag and drop activity using a class. Six movieclips are dropped on the target. After each movie clip is dropped I want to display feedback. So I added counter++ to the drop function to trigger the appropriate feedback. The drag and drop functionality works perfectly. Probably because I got most of it from a [URL] activity. Problem: counter++ is not cumulative. So I drop target 1, counter is 1. Then if I drop target 2, counter is 1. If I drop target 2 twice, counter is 2. However, that isn't what I want. I need to either figure out how to make counter++ cumulative, or I need to figure out how to add the different counters together. So if source1...source6 = 1 do this. My counter code is on the main timeline.

I want to replicate the standard startDrag/stopDrag events with my own routine to alter things a bit, and I run into some kind of event propagation or bubbling problem. Here is my code:

i've got a movie where i've got 3 color slider and 1 gray slider the functionality is supposed to be that the gray slider moves along as the avg of the 3 color sliders xPos unless it is clicked, where it then controls the xPos of the color sliders and then can slide them dynamically. here's the code inside the gray slider:

There's no problem in my computer at work on this issue. When I press on something that is draggable, it's dragged. When I realease it (or realease it outside), it stops being dragged. But it does happen in my boss' computer! what a coincidence! It happens to be something related to very quick double clicks. Sometimes, the draggable movieclip gets stuck to the mouse movement even if it has been released. Is there something to take control on this? or is it any issue from an old version of the flash plugin?

I have two mx:TileList controls that I'm using to allow editing of objects in batch. The first contains a collection of all available data, and the 2nd contains the current batch. Both are bound to ArrayCollections, and using the native drag-n-drop functionality of the TileList control the data is moved from one ArrayCollection to the other when an object is dragged between them.
I need to change the currentState to show & reset the batch manipulation controls when the batch count goes from 0 to n or n to 0 items. Based on the documentation, I would have thought that I should listen to the dragComplete event, but my testing shows that instead of firing after the data has been removed from the source ArrayCollection and added to the destination ArrayCollection, it fires (consistently) between these two actions.

I have a dart being launched whenever I click, however I also have buttons on the frame that can be clicked to let you restart the level or main menu. My question is how can I make the mouse click focus on just the buttons? I've tried putting a ".focus" on my buttons but that doesnt work.

I have a button that I want to have trigger a rollover effect when rolled over, and when clicked trigger something. I am changing the background image of the whole Flash movie. On Rollover I want it to give you a preview, and on click, I want it to goto a frame in a movieClip where that image is. Here is a pic of my timeline:For instance. I want my first button, "button1" (which is outside of this movieClip on the main timeline) to do the following:When rolled over, it needs to go to the "btn_over" frame label When Rolled out to go to the "btn_out" frame label.And when Clicked to go to frame 2.Currently My button is a movieClip symbol, because I will be doing some simple animations to it. Here is the code I have on my first button: This makes the click work. Is it possible to simulate a MouseEvent.CLICK to get fired by just firing first a MOUSE_DOWN followed by a MOUSE_UP.
As per Adobe's doumentation.
"... For a click event to occur, it must always follow this series of events in the order of occurrence: mouseDown event, then mouseUp. The target object must be identical for both of these events; otherwise the click event does not occur. I'm trying to figure out a way to have one button perform a function if the mouse is "clicked" and perform another if it is "held down". In my example I have the functionality of each working the way I want, but I can't seem to get them to work together (one is commented out right now). I've searched many forums and haven't found the answer, I'm sure it's there just not having luck putting my finger on it.
The only way I can think is with a timer - but a forum member I read somewhere said that was "Ghetto". Plus, I'm not sure I how to make that work right now anyway.See attached for a working version of what I have, or code below...

As soon as I start to drag the scrollbar, I get an error #1069 telling me that MOUSE_UP not found on flash.events.MouseEvent and there is no default value. I was watching a tutorial from Todd Perkins, and the scrollbar is built after his model. I really hope for an answer, it's killing me

am hoping someone here might have some source in the little bag o' trix that will put me on the right road to achieving the following. i am trying to work out the best way of creating a movie that has buttons that when clicked will zoom into and centre a certain area of a larger movieclip?
and then a way of dragging the zoomed into movieclip around the stage area? or panning using x/y positions of the mouse. (and without asking for the moon on a stick - if the user clicks on a empty part of the zoomed mc - it zooms back out to it's original size position?)
any have any fla files or know of any good tut's or threads that can will give me a leg up to get it working? fingers crossed has done this before or know a good place to start?

Suppose, I created a MovieClip(with instance-name= "myClip") on the stage. If I need to process MouseEvent.CLICK event on this movieclip(myClip), then we use addEventListener(bla.... bla...); method.
Now, my requirement is, in certain case, I do not want to occur any MouseEvent.CLICK events on this same movieClip(i.e., myClip).Then, How to do this? (or) What is the method/class used in this context?
Atlast, My requirement is: How to remove/disable Mouse_CLICK events when occur on a MovieCLip.

I have made a hierarchy in which there is a main page, using add element i have attached a component mxml of type group. There is a single button on main page when clicked it should add children of type group in that group type mxml component along with two buttons. Now using one of buttons i am attaching another component mxml type group. the problem is even they overlap i can still excess the children groups of first group component mxml.
